This place looks and feels great. The service is personal and friendly without trying too hard like some more expensive places - and I like that. Again, the food is excellent without trying to be too "showy". If you're a bit tired of the pretentious but still want excellent food, service and ambience - a place to take a loved one, then come here. It never disappoints.

My mums's 80th birthday so we took her out for a nice lunch. We had never been to Perkins before and had booked because of the website and reviews. Food was lovely, atmosphere laid back and convivial, staff helpful. Everything really perfect and my mum really enjoyed it. We had the monkfish and the pork followed by a variety of deserts and all were absolutely delicious. I contacted a couple of times to check details - never any problems and as accommodating as you could want for. If I didn't live in Cambridge I would be there every week!

It was a very tasty meal which we all enjoyed. Friendly atmosphere and good value. Will definitely go again.

Lovely food and good ambience, although the conservatory was quite noisy and hot. However, our group thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Great service, nice place in a lovely setting. My steak was excellent but wife's sea bass was overcooked. Bit pricey but will return

A great place to come for a meal, we've been a few times now and every time the food has been fantastic, the service excellent and good value.

Shame that this restaurant cannot manage its booking system. Apparently they 'don't get Open Table bookings' made during service and don't update their table availability in real-time. Shame - time for them to get into the electronic age.

Service far too fast. Arrived at 8.30 starter and main course eaten by 9.30, which included 20 minutes in the bar having a drink and choosing the food. Staff did not understand the problem fast food not fine dining. Food was good wine choices good
