Just a short drive from the urban sprawl of Nottingham, Perkins Restaurant and Bar is a slice of rural life in the idyllic Plumtree – even the name screams storybook countryside. A former railway station, Perkins is light, bright and airy hanging on to history through original features carefully restored to give the restaurant a quirky sense of the past without being overly themed. The food was amazing as usual the only issue we had was the waiter was new and he got our Irish coffee order wrong. As soon as we pointed out his mistake we were offered fresh drinks and even had them taken off our bill. Can’t recommend Perkins enough.

The best restaurant in England during our recent vacation! The food was excellent, the service impeccable and the ambiance superb!! I suggested that the only thing missing was a big fat cat sitting on one of the chairs.

Nice place been 4 or so times in the last year, food quality really good, menu a bit limited for my preferences. Not a fan of creamed / mashed potatoes. What was nice was asking for time between starter and main and getting it, we have found most restaurants end up rushing us through, may be the staff want to get home?

Great Food and wine. Service was good and great atmosphere. There are road closures in the village until the end of March which made getting there difficult. We walked about a mile from where our taxi dropped us off. Would have been nice to know in advance. Info on social media but something on website or booked customers emailed would have been better.

Food was delicious, good sized portions and well priced. I always find Perkins a delight. Staff are attentive and the whole evening was memorable. I did say it was my Husbands birthday but sadly no fuss was made, which would have been nice :(
