Not traditional Korean but a take on it. Interesting menu. Very freshly prepared . Everything had its unique flavor. My only complaint was that it was communal tables. I know that with the grill it is an issue, but sitting so close to people with our party of 4 is a bit awkward and crowded. Also, it was very, very noisy at times. Maybe closing off the back room (with a folding door?) from a large party would block the noise a bit. Sometimes I could not hear what my friends were saying.
Overall, it was a fun evening even for us "seniors"...good food, drinks were interesting and the servers were very friendly . ( They did forgot one of our appetizers but it came later) As the restaurant "matures," and more people find out about it, I think it will do well. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Korean food, but maybe go on a week night when the noise level might not be so loud.
Great food! Difficult to have a business meeting with all the interruptions to cook the food but nonetheless it was nice and I would return but only socially!
Delicious food! We are never disappointed when we go here. Great place to go with friends and share a feast for the whole table.
$124 is not worth some finger food even if was very good and downtown priced.
As a Korean person who was raised on good, authentic Korean food, I highly recommend this restaurant. The service is amazing which pairs perfectly with the great food. If you've never tried Korean cuisine, I recommend starting here. Extra bonus for the cocktails!
Great food! Eddie our server was amazing. He was polite, prompt, great to talk to, and an all around great guy. The food was outstanding, we did the Valentine's menu (Land) with wine paring, great wines, and delicious and abundant courses. I loved all the little extras, tofu, daikon, kimchi, and it was fun for a different experience.
Great food and phenomenal service
We ordered for the table for a work event and it was PERFECT! Highly recommend for groups 8-15
Food and staff were wonderful!
So disappointed. Better Korean food in Chicago and better value. Slapping 6 strips of meat and 8 mushrooms and 1 ring of onion is pretty lame. And our waiter burned the meat and took 25 min to come back with new meat and the 2 other people in our party were done eating.
Also not a big fan of long tables for multiple parties like I’m at a picnic.
Went for Chicago Restaurant Week. Delicious food and great service!
Great for groups and kids!
Best Brussels sprouts ever. Everything was delightful
Great food, exceptional service, atmosphere is cozy. Highly recommended
Great dinner and wonderful service! The team helped tailor our meal and experience so we could have the best of what they had to offer!
Great food and great service!
Waited over 30 min past our reservation to be seated. Got no apology/drink while waiting, just made to wait.
Not great as a Korean BBQ spot - just okay Panchon, mushy bulgogi, okay short ribs. Some of the different stuff they are doing - marinated mushrooms for one - are pretty good and the overall service and ambiance are quite pleasant, but there are much better and just as interesting Korean places for me.
We had an awesome meal consisting up upscale Korean fare with some modern twists. The flavors were delicious and everything was super fresh. Cocktails were also bold and amazing. Service was attentive without being over-bearing and the manager was an absolute delight to talk to. No complaints here! We will try to get back there ASAP.
Outstanding food; friendly, excellent service; good cocktails and great, focused wine list; fun, high energy room. Highly recommended!
Went for restaurant week. Was above my expectations. Nice space, great service, good food. May try to fit in one more stop before RW is over.
From the moment we walked in the door we felt completely pampered! AMAZING food. Fantastic service. We will be back again and again. Also, get the brussel sprouts!!!
Beautiful service amazing food and great energy!
Overall good restaurant. Good service and food. Tasty but not exceptional
Kimchi was not great - too much vinegar or aowmthinf. Bulgogi was ok. Fried dumplings were good. Not impressed with food unfortunately. And I grew up eating Korean food.
So happy to have a great Korean restaurant in the city.
Great date night spot! The food is amazing and service was great!
Our first time here, we really enjoyed this restaurant. Lively but quiet enough to have a conversation. Food was excellent and drinks were great too.
The food was delicious. We loved everything we ordered. It's a little pricey for what you get and compared to other Korean BBQ but worth a try.
The Host was very nice and attentive. She helped with everything and made our evening dinner enjoyable. It was a great way to start the new year. I’m glad I found Perilla and I will be dining again 😊
Yura and Nester were great
What a fabulous find! Amazingly fresh, authentic Korean meal. It offers a "feast," which is multi-course and a great introduction to the menu, especially for us (we weren't too familiar with Korean fare). We supplemented with a couple of salads, but that wasn't necessary, as portions were generous. All the plates were explained, and you can BBQ your own meat, or the server will do it for you.
Drinks were interesting, ranging from Korean beer and cocktails to rare find teas. Parking is a bit of an issue, but it's worth a short walk to dine here.
Perilla offers an modern, exceptionally well executed take on korean food. While sticking close to traditional flavors and dishes, Perilla elevates the ingredients and the service. The Large Feast is phenomenal to share among 4 (or more) people. Banchan is coursed instead of dropped onto the table all at once. Standouts on the menu are the Berkshire Pork Belly, Korean Fried Chicken wings, Soy Mushrooms, the steamed egg. The kitchen also gifted our table with a beautiful beet salad with goat cheese. The beet salad wasn’t traditional to Korean food, but we really enjoyed it. I highly recommend asking for extra Perilla leaves to wrap your meat in. The quality of the ingredients is lovely. Everyone left extremely happy with their meal.
Amazing experience and service. Food outstanding.
Everything was delicious! Great food and excellent service.
Great food especially the kimchi pancakes. The handwritten birthday card was an extremely nice touch as well.
Wow. What a perfect happy hour - loved the dealers choice cocktails, small plate options. Great playlist. Will be coming back!
Awesome place. We love it
Great staff. They did everything to make out visit amazing. Food was excellent.
Beautiful food. Great service. Nice and chilled place
