Located in the West Loop of Downtown Chicago, PERILLA fare offers Korean American cuisine centered around a communal dining experience inspired by classic Korean flavors and traditional ingredients. With an emphasis and focus on quality and premium selection of meats for Korean BBQ, Chef Andrew Lim and the team proudly works with local farms and quality importers to provide our guests with an adventurous culinary experience. We offer an expansive beverage list which includes handcrafted cocktails, craft beers, a curated wine list, and hand selected imported sojus and makgeolli. Our menu accommodates all dietary restrictions with a focus on vegetarian options including locally sourced mushrooms. Perilla is legit one of the best Korean BBQ spots I’ve tried in Chicago. The vibe is super chill but the food is next level. We ordered two different meat sets — everything was so good, especially the wagyu and pork belly. The scallion pancake was crispy and delicious, and those kimchi arancini fun and tasty. Service was great, and you can really tell they care about quality here. They even gave us a congratulations card for my anniversary which we were celebrating here signed by all the employees. Will for sure be back!

This is a beautiful restaurant with great food and amazing service. We had a wonderful time and particularly enjoyed the LA Galbi and Beet Tartare. Would highly recommend!

I love it there. Julia our server was AMAZING as was everyone else. Service at their restaurant is perfect as is the food.

If you know and love KBBQ, skip this place. It’s all frills. The staff is top notch but the experience for value was not it. Maybe we went on an off night night. The pacing was very off and left us waiting 15-20 min between items. We heard the kitchen was running behind, which was weird given all the kitchen had to do was put slices of raw meat on a plate. The chobop, A5 waygu, and kimchi were awesome! Everything else was mid. Our rice cake salad was super salty, and bulgogi overcooked. In all my experience with KBBQ, from Michelin star to whole in the wall, I have never paid for banchan or ssam until last night. If you’re going to charge $15 for “grill accompaniments”, I’m expecting something special. Accompaniments included pickled cucumbers(mid), kimchi (good), weakly pickled white cabbage, scallion salad, and ssam.

Food was great, smaller portions which was expected and explained. Time limit at table seemed rather short for what youre paying and if you want dessert or after dinner drink.

The food is pretty good, a bit pricey and surprising that banchan isn't included when you order plates of meat, I also think $15 for something that is traditionally free at Korean barbecues is a bit much. That being said, the beef, pork belly and chicken wings were really tasty and the price tag was worth it. Most of the staff were amazing, attentive, and kind. Unfortunately we had a really unpleasant experience with our waitress. However the manager did follow up with me afterward to listen to our experience and seemed committed to supporting the waitress to improve.
