The restaurant was closed for repairs and they did not contact us.
Considering it was closed due to storm damage when we got there (after we drove from nj & paid for parking & it was husbands birthday) and no one notified us beforehand we can not say we had a good experience.
I wanted the best place in Philadelphia for bbq. This was not it. Everything tasted the same. Chicken. Brisket. Ribs. Wings. Its all cooked in same smoker. Brisket was very tender but nothing had any taste. Portion of appetizers small. Macaroni and cheese was awesome.
Our waitress Candace was absolutely awesome, She was helpful and accommodating
If you are looking for good bbq in philly you can find it hear. The wings were very tasty and well done. I recommend the brisket my friend enjoyed the ribs. Some interesting cocktail and a pretty extensive beer list if that is your thing.
Service was slow and food was disappointing. Not as good as usual.
Our July 4th dinner wasn't so good. We had high expectations and were disappointed. The ribs were overlooked. The burnt end beans had only 1 burnt end in the whole cup.
Food was delicious. Best brisket in the city. Our server was very sweet and efficient. We will be back for sure!
All the meats on the menu were great! And they give you A LOT! The buttermilk biscuits were great too! But the mac & cheese and cornbread were very bland. The Collard greens were well seasoned but too spicy to really enjoy. The baked beans were very good, the potato salad is NOT any potato salad that I have ever had; it was hot and there was no mayonnaise. Just some sliced potatoes and scallions, I didn't really taste any type of "cookout" potato salad. The BBQ fries were very filling too! We got the Lockhart, best way to sample a lil bit of everything... or most of everything.
The drinks were weak for the price they charge...
Great BBQ! Great service!
We saw on the show DDD on the food network and had to try it. We loved the food, great service, good environment.
The manager and chef was nice . The good was just okay.
We did not have a very good experience. We waited for a long time for our server and once we ordered drinks they also didn't come for a very long time. Our beer was warm. We tried to order but they were out of wings, BBQ chicken, and jam for the biscuits. Four of the seven of us ordered pulled pork but our waitress came back and told us they were out of that as well. We actually were going to leave and go somewhere else but they pulled pork off of some of their ribs and were able to make our sandwiches which was very nice of them. The food was ok, not great. I wouldn't go back. I think maybe they underestimated the crowd for the holiday weekend.
Good service, friendly atmosphere, good food, generous portions, good variety, full bat
This place used to serve some decent brisket and the pulled pork was really good. Not anymore. Brisket, ribs and pulled pork were overcooked and lacked flavor. I'm really disappointed. Good BBQ is hard to find.
My brisket was burnt and had no flavor. The sauces provided were not your typical barbecue sauces which made it difficult to enjoy. The greeter was rude. Did not enjoy my food nor my time spent.
Good food and nice staff. However, the service was a little slow.
Meat was very good. Not Texas good, but good. The sides were okay. Collards way too salty and mac and cheese was just "eh" but the cornbread was excellent. The main problem was the noise level and the very slow service. I ordered a cornbread mid-way through and it didn't arrive til after we had paid the check, despite asking about it several times.
Food was great, service was great. It was just very difficult to breathe inside as there seemed to be little ventilation for the meat smokers. I don't have any existing health issues and breathing was difficult. Felt better when I left the restaurant.
The brisket is amazing. It's honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. The ribs were a bit tough but delicious nonetheless. I would absolutely go back here. Extensive beer menu too.
Great BBQ! Chicken, Ribs, Brisket. Doesn't matter. We tried it all. Excellent biscuits. Tasty greens. Lots of beers. Reminders of home every which way.
Terrible service, salty food, surrounded by dirty tables that were never cleared the whole time we were eating. Found out they have new owners, they are not doing a very good job. Will not return again. Used to be our go to place.
Percy Street normally has great BBQ, however, on this visit, the ribs were only slightly warm and a little tough. The mac-n-cheese was hard, greasy, and not up to their usual creamy standards. Every time we go, the food is inconsistent. Apparently, it depends on who is cooking that day; and for the price that Percy Street charges, there should never be a lack of quality. Yet, this restaurant is still a good place for casual dining.
Second time at Percy St. BBQ. Just as good the second time.
My ribs were burnt on the bottom, the corn bread was Almost burnt, the coleslaw was terrible and my 2nd Arnold palmer was sour lemonade.
What a disappointment! I brought my foodie family for a fun, casual dinner, and I was very embarrassed. The worst thing was the service. They brought our appetizers, but we had no plates or serving utensils. On the third try, I actually went over the waiter station to ask AGAIN. Then, they started bringing the main course while the table was still crowded with dishes from the apps. We had to ask them to clear the first course. Then they didn't bring us plates. AGAIN. It was like our waiters had never served in a restaurant or even eaten at one. Clueless.
The food was ok overall. The ribs were inedible--like beef jerky! The chicken was tasty. The chopped salad was tiny, but good.
The place was half empty at 7.30 on a friday night, so it wasn't loud.
The wall decor above our table were old folding chairs. Really? Who thinks that's charming?
Frankly, the noise level was the least of their problems.
We would recommend Percy Street BBQ for nothing. With the new ownership now for something less than a year, it is on a huge downslope. My ribs were burned, the cornbread was cold, with a large clob of butter which also was cold and the noise level from the boom box made conversation impossible with . After 4 years of loving this place, the love affair is over.
Percy Street is an upscale BBQ restaurant that does a good job of replicating Texas BBQ. Granted, the best Texas BBQ joints are usually no-frills affairs and Percy Street is a bit of a "theme" restaurant, but ultimately the good is quote good. The mac and cheese is outstanding.
My wife and i went in for the new burger of the week. Amazing price for a tasty brisket burger with pork belly and collared greens with a hard cider. The only problem was the burger being a little too tall to actually get in the mouth! #Firstworldproblems
Great good. Great service. One of the best BBQ places I've eaten at. Definitely will done here again.
