Steak was the best. Octopus was very good too.
Our food was absolutely delicious. Service was awesome and attentive. Live music was good too; however, we would have liked to have been able to listen to the waves since we were sitting outside.
Hands down, the best food I’ve eaten in a while! We’re already planning our next visit
New Years Eve dinner...food was very good & ample portions. Steak was very flavorful & tender, pork belly excellent & the chilled seafood tower was fresh & flavorful...esp. the marinated lump crab salad. Also the fried banana pudding was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. Our first trip to Perch, but definitely not our last! Wait staff could have been more attentive.
Beautiful New Year’s Eve dinner on the water! Highly recommend!
Excellent. Great service and food. On the gulf. Well run.
Tapas style dining - small plates with big prices. Service was generally poor. It took at least 15 minutes to get the drinks we ordered, in a mostly empty dining room. Items came out piecemeal, and we had to ask again about one dish that never was delivered to the table. Lovely space - but you must walk upstairs to go to Perch - another restaurant is on the street level.
Loved the outdoor setting with seating around a fire pit! The food was excellent...had the Lamb lollipops and the scallops... all well prepared and just the right portion. We split a dessert by the fire pit! The Christmas lighting was a really nice touch, too.
Was put at a table by the door that had wind when could have been away - waiter was great but hostess not the best.
Hostess had attitude as soon as we arrived, just not personable at as all. Restuarant was empty when we arrived, yet she seated us at the worse table in the house, windows everywhere, but we ended up next to a wall between windows. Granted, it was dark out, but they have outdoor seating with firepits, but we couldn't see because of the wall.
Waiter took a while to loosen up, a bit stiff when we started. By the time we left he was laughing.
Food was good, not great.
I understand everyone is having staffing problems, but, if your job is to please your customer, check the attitudes at the door.
We are staying at the lodge and decided to try for dinner at 530. Were told no availability or reservations at anytime the remainder of the evening, but we could sit out on the second level and buy drinks but not eat or be served any food. We decided to give it a try. The hostess on the second level was irritated that we came up to sit by the fire and have drinks. She came over to us 3 different times and said we could get drinks from the bar, more irritated each time she approached us. This was all within 5-10 minutes. We then received a visit from “Taylor” the manager claiming she was ask to provide a resolution. I asked her what issue she was there to resolve, she said she didn’t know.
I then checked open table for other nearby restaurants and low and behold there was availability at the Perch. Lol we booked it, the 2nd level hostess and the manager were then visibly upset we ordered drinks and subsequently left.
Great food and wonderful service from Chris. The hostess could use a little more training in hospitality. Would go back again!
Always great food!!! Great views!!!!! Amazing Service!!!! I wrote up a full review yesterday thinking it was for 12/24/21, but posted as 11/28/21 - this just shows how often we go! We LOVE this place! Fav appetizer is the meat/cheese tray, fav is the filet and fresh catch (grouper)...oh oh oh...and that friend banana pudding!!!!! We have had Will many times as our server. He is such a joy to have as a server. He is very witty and we appreciate his humor. The Perch is truly a hidden gem in the area.
We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience in a friendly atmosphere.
We go to the PERCH often. Service is great, food is amazing and the views are hard to beat! Tonight is Christmas Eve and the place was hopping! Ms. Ann (the upstairs hostess) was working triple time! She does an amazing job juggling the customers so that she can accommodate everyone. We are local and will be back soon!
I see why a menu wasn’t posted now. All boards and tapas. Fun place for drinks and snacks on the beach, but not a meal. Very limited menu.
Food was delicious, great dishes with perfect portions. Service was good. Location and views are definitely worth it. Will come back next time we are in the area.
Went here for my honeymoon; they surprised us with an amazing dessert! The entire experience was wonderful and the food was delicious.
Great! Food, atmosphere, service!
The hostesses downstairs were nonchalant and said you can go in upstairs when I was waiting on my date to park the car. The restaurant seemed to be short staffed. I sat at the downstairs bar where there was no bartender. When my date arrived in the restaurant we walked upstairs not knowing what to do as there was no host or hostess. We waited along with another couple who also did not know what to do. We were finally seated and the restaurant was very chilly. My date and I looked at each other and said, forget this. It was also loud. I have eaten here before abd this was not the case. Oh and the host who seated us was also the bartender downstairs that guests had to wait on. Poor guy
Perfect evening. Delicious, excellent service, lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to go agian.
I don’t remember the online menu mentioning that this was a small plate restaurant. Pretty pricey. The food was good. Ambiance was nice. Staff are friendly.
Wonderful dinner at Perch! The portions were perfect and the food was amazing. Can't wait to come back again.
Our party of four shared 5 small dishes -- catch of the day (triple tail), yellow fin, pork belly, deviled eggs, and onion rings. We split the 3 deserts on the menu. The music and server (Will) were very good. The wine list had more to offer than other restaurants we've visited in the area. All in all, a very nice experience.
This was an unexpected gem in a quick two day trip to the gulf-- now in our top 2 to 3 favorite restaurants in the area. First...you will not beat the outdoor dining option on a beautiful night. Second...the waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. Third...the food was some of the best we've had in the Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Perdido Key area. It is a small plate, shareable experience so come expecting to sample and share. We had the lamb lollipops, scallops, swordfish, and deviled eggs. ALL were excellent...particularly the scallops and swordfish-- AMAZAING. The local fresh ingredients and the chef's ability to bring them all together are exceptional.
Great! Sat by on porch and the weather was perfect
Service was a little slow but they were very busy and like most these days probably a little short handed. The place is beautiful and we will go again.
Waited 15 at our table and no one greeted us. The same server past by our table 5 times, on the 6th we walked out.
Food was great, everything else not so much- service not great, the two doors to the patio seating create a wind tunnel if it’s wind outside- so sitting near those doors is bad.
Steak not cooked as ordered. All other was good.
We had an amazing experience!! The staff were friendly, fun and hard working. The food was fantastic and the setting was gorgeous! Thank you for a wonderful evening! We will be back.
Unique drink menu. Seafood was excellent - the Ahi tuna was so good.
Booked this dining experience while vacationing at Gulf State Lodge. While the menu does not include traditional, full sized entrees, the small plate items are ideal for a lighter meal or for trying/sharing a few items. The presentation was spectacular and the taste of the food did not disappoint! Because the portions were smaller, there was room for dessert. Will definitely keep this one on the list for future trips!
The food is absolutely delicious. We had the flounder and scallops. Both had great flavor!
Excellent food and service. Very busy night. We were seated next to the door to the patio and the in and out was distracting. There were a lot of people without a reservation and because we were so close to the host stand we were acutely aware of an effort to try to accomodate people. This distracted from the ambience.
It was a prefect evening. The food was gorgeous, well plated and absolutely 5 star. Our waitress so knowledgeable about everything on the menu, was gracious and warm. Her Russian accent accompanied the meal with a delightful air of sophistication. Enchanting view of the Gulf made the evening completely memorable.
Beautiful place to enjoy cocktails with friends, some of the best views in OB. The food was cooked properly, but was bland. Service was slow, not sure if there were understaffed. We ordered a bottle of wine, after 15 minutes we still didn’t receive it and we were told they were out of the bottle. Ordered another to only have them bring us the previous bottle we had ordered. Will definitely give them another try, but will definitely order something different. (Had flounder (special) Vidalia onion rings, and pork belly (was best of the 3).
