Pera Soho was a lovely experience! The service was friendly and prompt, the food was all incredibly delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming. Made for a lovely birthday dinner for my friend! Thank you Pera Soho…The restaurant week deal was amazing!!
My boyfriend really liked his chicken shashlik, and my salmon was excellent, although the portion was tiny. Dessert was wonderful: pistachio baklava for my boyfriend, and an ice cream sandwich for me. The only drawback was that the restaurant was drafty. We were eating inside, but quite a few women had their coats draped over their shoulders.
Amazing restaurant week menu!!! Loved everything
The food was great and the service was quick!
I booked a table for 11, they gave us a table for 10 and then chaged it for 11 in the worst possible set up, giving us a huge table instead of a smaller (additional) one. It was my Birthday and i ordered starters and wine for everyone. They brought other wine that was not in the menu and i told them that that was not the wine I had asked for the waiter told me that was the wine, then i showed him the menu and he told me that they didn’t really had the wine i ordered and that they had this instead. Also with the starters, they told me they were really really small plates which they weren’t so I ended up ordering a lot. The service was bad and i ended up having a poor experience on my Birthday.
The outdoor patio was warm enough to sit comfortably in 30 degrees weather. Indoors was fine for seating as well, with dividers and ample space between tables. We much enjoyed the food - especially the sirloin steak (thin, and very tender, comes with truffle drizzled French fries -addictive), the grilled artichokes with other vegetables, and the muammara dip (pepper, walnuts, tomato) with perfectly crispy pita chips. Cozy, tasty, and fun.
Truly so sad they removed the chicken, peach and burrata plate. Please bring it back!!
Very solid experience, all in all. Tasty, nice staff, etc.
We were the first diners to arrive for brunch on New Year's Day. Only two other parties were in the restaurant when we left, so the staff was far from overtaxed. Our server was very slow to approach our table and take our order. When the food arrived, he never checked to see that things were as ordered. He spent most of the time near the front of the restaurant scrolling through his phone.
My husband's eggs arrived unseasoned. It took a while to attract our server to ask for salt and pepper. Then it took him 5 minutes to locate these condiments, which are apparently never offered with breakfast eggs at Pera, since he presented us with a large, greasy kitchen salt shaker and a plate of paper "to go" pepper packets. When we had finished our entrees, we again had to stuggle to attract our server's attention to order coffee. In general, he seemed uninterested in serving us. Although the food was very well prepared. we will not return because for these prices we get better, more welcoming service almost anywhere.
I'm disappointed. Our waiter only came to our table a couple of times when we sat and when we ordered; we couldn't find him for most of the night and it took a long time to order just a second round of drinks, which was frustrating because it was NYE. My fish was cooked well, but it, along with everything else on my plate, was cold. I also ordered the cauliflower rice and it was just cauliflower florets with other add-ins, not necessarily served warm as it was supposed to be. I think the chef needs to research the definition of Cauliflower Rice.
The outdoor set-up was lovely. We paid a lot of money for a NYE experience and live jazz, but the jazz didn't last very long, and the woman who was supposed to sing legit held a microphone all night but did not utter a single lyric.
Sorry, Pera. This experience was subpar and definitely not worth the price. Maybe it'd be better on a normal night and not for an Event experience.
Food was mediocre and overpriced
This was an amazing deal for NYE dinner, everything was memorable. Totally recommend.
Beautiful (and warm!) outdoor patio and delicious food and drinks. Highly recommended!
Xmas eve in NYC
Very pretty restaurant. Drinks were amazing. Definitely recommend the apricot margarita
Very pleasant and quick service. It was very quiet there as well.
Though food was good, I think it would help to have more items in the menu.
I came for brunch early on a Saturday shortly after they opened. The outside area looked really cute although it was raining. The inside was nice as well. I noticed there wasn't an espresso machine at the bar but asked if they had one and our waiter said yes. My latte and my boyfriend's cappuccino were terrible. They tasted like burnt hotel coffee water. The food was subpar. With so many other restaurants in New York, I wouldn't go back.
Pera was exactly what we were looking for. I’d been to it years prior only for happy hour indoors pre-pandemic and recalled quality wine and snacks. So when searching 100s of restaurants looking for a nice place to eat safely and comfortably, outdoors I grabbed the reservation and they delivered. Our server was vivacious and extremely welcoming. And the food and wine were fabulous. I had the CHICKEN "SHASHLIK" $26 Marinated sliced chicken, baby arugula, tomato, red pepper, red onion, lemon, bulghur rice and pita bread. A well rounded, healthy meal where the flavors came together beautifully. My friend’s fries were so amazing on her steak frites that we ordered a second batch. We also shared the roasted cauliflower for an appetizer - I wish I had the recipe- yum. For desert another friend ordered the most insanely delicious thing. It was a cheese and coconut base shaped like a pancake, served warm with vanilla ice cream. I’ll be definitely be back and ordering the same things!
Staff was super accommodating. The outdoor garden with heaters is perfect for those of us who are not yet comfortable eating indoors. Great evening.
Wonderful outdoor dining
The ambiance is great. My fiancé and I went here for brunch & it’s by far the best brunch spot we have been to. The food was amazing! Highly recommend the calamari, peach burrata and probably everything else on the menu. Will be planning a lot of future get togethers at this place!
Great food, service and ambiance. Nine of us had brunch inside, as we thought it might be too cold out on the patio. Great friendly service, good food and drinks.
The food was fresh and delicious! The wait staff attended to our needs and they were great overall.
Will book again next time we are in NYC
A casual happy hour in the city
We had Birthday ,
The place was noise and we cannot here each other and the whetters
The plat was not clean
Regarding the food it was very nice
Bad service and they kept leaving the door open. We were freezing
Cocktails were great as was the service, but the food was not very good.
Pera soho was a good time with good mediterranean food!! try the chicken shashlik it comes with rice and very yummy n position is worth the money
We chose this place because of the great reviews and were not disappointed. We were a large group of 12 and the Maitre d was kind enough to seat our party as we arrived , rather than make us wait for all 12 of us to get there before being seated. A few in our party are vegetarians , others are not—everyone found something tasty to enjoy. Great cocktails as well.
Highly recommended. Booked a table for 12 in the outdoor area that is a nice patio with plenty of heat lamps etc. It was spacious and private. The food was excellent - we ordered a few of the dips (hummus, eggplant, peppers and walnut). Very comprehensive range of spirits, wines and cocktails. We tried a couple of the margaritas that were expensive but delicious. Our server was very user friendly. My only constructive feedback is they seemed a bit short on staff.
They were great and flexible with us as we switched from outside (too cold) to inside (practically a private room). Great meal!
Super cute and delicious food and drinks
Very nice ambiance with outdoor seating. Service was exceptional from start to finish. Waiter made good recommendations for appetizers, main meals and dessert. Good Mediterranean choices and flavors. Overall we were pleased with our Holiday meal.
Sadly, we dined on a Sunday evening and our experience was all about them getting ready to close. The service was awful; however, the food was delicious.
Great food, great service, lovely venue.
