Solid consistent good food though a bit overpriced. Appetizers are especially good, some meat entrees are overpriced and mediocre. Noisy during peak hours.

Wonderful restaurant in near Grand Central Station. Food was delicious. Hosts were very accommodating. Wait service was slow, but there were many large parties that night. They have a private room, which I will remember for future business gatherings.

Pera has an amazing happy hour!! Great prices, delicious bite size shareables and a beautiful restaurant. Its also great for a special event because of the low-light ambience and delicious food. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion and especially for someone who is gluten free, vegan or has other food accomodations. 5 stars!

The ambiance and service were very good. We were initially seated immediately outside a very noisy room with a large private party. After a frustrating 15 minutes of inability to hear each other, we requested and were promptly moved to a quieter location. The food was average to good, but definitely not special nor commensurate with prices. Not one I would hurry back.

We went back just a couple of nights ago. The Brasserie has sentimental value for us, as it was part of our first date; but it never disappoints. This last visit, the staff distinguished itself with great service. They brought my girlfriend, who is an expert cook and gourmet, some gnocchi that were too salty. She cordially pointed out the problem, and our server just as cordially - - and briskly -- whisked the plate away. They replaced the dish, agreed with her analysis, and comped not only the replacement dish but two desserts. Very professionally done, and the result was an unobtrusive and perfectly satisfactory dining experience, on a busy night.

While the food is always good, service can be spotty and the acoustics in the dining room make it next to impossible to hear your dining companions at times.

This is my third time to the restaurant and it was more disappointing than delightful. The food was excellent but the seating was cramped and the service was just okay. The restaurant also seemed loud. Not sure if it was where we were seated (by front windows) but I've not had this experience in this restaurant before. I won't write this restaurant off completely, but it is not likely to be at the top of my list.

The food at Pera is amazing and has never disappointed. The service on a Saturday night was awful, which was not the fault of the two wait staff, of which one was serving as the bartender; but evident of poor management and scheduling. The individual serving has host seemed to act as if he was a manager, but was not assisting the two wait staff during what was there peak dinner time for a Saturday. Normally, I visit Pera during the week with happy hour, but My family was in town to celebrate a birthday and I selected Pera for the food. The waiters were apologetic for the slow service but they were doing the best they could under the circumstances.

I have made a reservation and when we arrived had to wait to get seated. We were then seated right next to the front door practically on top of the guests next to us. The draft by the door was incredibly uncomfortable.

I've been to the restaurant many times and always had an enjoyable meal but this time was sadly disappointed. Kept telling my colleague what a wonderful restaurant and he wasn't impressed with our seating or service.

Food is always on point

Love this restaurant in the heart of mid-town. Their Mediterranean flavors are so rich and refined. I come here frequently for business lunches, or after work cocktail and apps. The food is always prepared perfectly, whether tapas style apps or a full entre. It's also a favorite as I love lamb - nowhere else has as many ways of preparing.

The ambience, personalized service and food here are excellent. All the meats were moist, fresh and full.of flavor. We ordered off the regular menu but they have a price fixed meal, and for their 10th Anniversary all bottles of wine are 1/2 price on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday... Can't beat that! They also have beer on tap and 10 different types of bottled beers including Greek Effes beer. The manager Melissa was very accommodating and our she and our servers and waitress were all very nice. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a great dining experience. Oh, and they also have another location in the village.

This was my second visit to Pera in about as many months. Service was poor. We were seated quickly, but then ignored. Servers milled around. No one seemed particularly busy. (We had a 1:30 reservation - past the bulk of the lunch rush.) No one offered us water or a drink menu. We finally had to flag down a server to place our meal order. We were nearly through our meal before someone checked on us. The baklava tasted like Parmesan cheese - I suspect the butter was rancid. When I mentioned it to the server, he said it was the taste of honey. (Ironic - I'm a beekeeper. I know what honey tastes like.) Overall, it was an unpleasant experience. Will not go back.

Pera is near my office, so I lunch there frequently with clients and colleagues. The food is great and reasonably priced, and the service is very good. The only issue for me is the noise: it is very loud and I'm partly deaf. But since it's filled every time I'm there, clearly that doesn't bother most people.

Writing this for my boss, who commented that the waiter or waitress never really came back to the table after lunch was served and that he had to flag him or her down for the check. It made him feel awkward because he didn't know if his guest had to leave at a certain time and he kept having to turn away from her and look over his shoulder several times. The food was good as always, but he would've appreciated a little more prompt attention. Business lunch, and he said the restaurant was mostly empty at the time.

It was my second visit to Pera in as many weeks. The service was impeccable and I like the open kitchen. At the end of the meal, we were presented with 2 deserts - even though only one did the restaurant week menu. Enough food for a light lunch the next day - which is a bonus and a rarity in NYC.

went with family during restaurant week and very disappointed with the value of the prefixed menu. my daughter and I both had the burger. Mine was well done instead of medium rare, hers the same. the food came out at different timing ... we had to wait another 10min to get her dish.

I have been several times to Pera and was always satisfied ... I shall avoid during restaurant week.
