Pera is a friendly, warm and consistently
Delicious food, nice atmosphere and good service.
Adana was the tastiest I have ever eaten. Great food!
Delicious and very pleasant atmosphere. Service was exemplary.
Group of 5 decided on last minute reservations at Pera. Fantastic service, ambiance was great, and food delicious (though it was disappointing that they were out of the calamari and crab cakes). Overall, 5 stars! Would highly recommend!
We were excited to try Pera on our trip to NYC.
Overall it was a decent experience.
We started by sharing the chefs appetizers assortment
This was excellent we were hard pressed to find any thing that we didn’t enjoy
I highly recommend ordering it and for 4 people it was a decent quantity
For the main entree
Three of us had the lamb which was there specialty and one had the steak
The lamb was good but it didn’t blow me away it was a formed lamb spear and the sides were ok
Our other companion ordered the steak, she asked for medium rare but it was decidedly medium well
They took it back to redo but she didn’t receive it back until the end of our meal.
The manager greeted us at the beginning of the evening they never came by to see how everything was even though the restaurant was relatively empty. Nobody checked back after our friend received her steak back to see if she was enjoying it better.
Our server seemed rather inexperienced and did not offer much assistance to better the experience.
We were more than pleasantly surprised with the menu offerings snd quality of food. My husband had the salmon and I ordered the lamb. Both were delicious. The service was timely, friendly snd informed. We will come back.
My chicken dish was cooked perfectly and so was the Salmon my wife had . More than enough for dinner. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
OCTOPUS APPETIZER WAS LIKE CHEWING RUBBER. THE HUMMUS AND EGGPLANT DIPS WERE ALMOST TASETLESS. NEVER BOTHERED TO ORDER A MAIN COURSE. ALREADY SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY. THE STAFF WAS LOVELY AND THE RESTAURANT WAS VERY WELCOMING. TOO BAD THE FOOD DIDN'T FOLLOW SUIT.
Such an unexpectedly terrific brunch. We both had the lamb sandwiches which came with delicious herbed homemade fries. I asked for a side salad which was light and yummy and picked on a few fries.
This is a beautifully appointed restaurant and even the restrooms are super clean and pretty.
If you are near Grand Central, this is the go-to place for brunch.
Portions were big enough for ladies, but most likely too small for most men.
Food was excellent as always and service was good. It was a wonderful evening dining outside.
Always good food and great service. Looking forward to my next time in.
Excellent location near Grand Central with outdoor seating. The food is quite tasty and healthy choices abound. I would highly recommend for a business or social lunch.
Good food, good service, a little pricey, but not atypical for midtown
We went for the Restaurant Week selection. My sister got the Lamb and I got the chicken. It was so delicious.
Food: the grilled vegetable timbale was really not what I expected. Thought this could have been a lot better. Also, pls consider offering half or smaller orders of the salads so that guests can order a dish and a side salad.
Service: main waiter was pretty brusque. Water servers etc were warm and welcoming.
Maroul salad and grilled artichokes were great. Wish they would also offer a small side salad option though. Biggest issue is that the place is very, very loud, which is not ideal for conversation.
Returning after almost two years, worked across the street and used to go there a lot. Still the same but fewer tables and more spacious.
Menu seems to have trimmed down but adequate. There were 4 of us and we had the restaurant week menu and added a sampler meze apetizer for the table. As that was not necessary since the samper duplicated the four apetizers we had already ordered.
We ordered the wines separately and the wine selection was good, an adequate selection and interesting ones from Lebanon, Greece and Turkey.
The waiters and staff were very inattentive, we arrived at 6:30 and there weren't many tables there. Drinks orders were incorrect, appetizers were missing. It was disappointment and we wild probably not return.
Restaurant week deal was definitely worth it. Substantial portions and the wine pairings were divine.
Great food and wonderful service!
Overall great experience. Highly recommend
I went after seeing other people's reviews, but it wasn't a good place to recommend. The service was too slow even after one o'clock, and no one cared. I really liked the sparkling water I ordered here.
Always reliable and on par.
We return over and over and enjoy the food
and service evert time.
Food was tasty and not overpoweringly spicy. Cocktails were well done also.
Ordinary looking, Pera's 2 course $39 menu at first looks like a clear ripoff compared with the few menus I'd even consider in the increasingly near worthless restaurant Week.
Crispy calamari were a bit flabby and undercooked but decent. Lamb Adana was very tasty and a generous portion, the accompanying bulghur delicious and the haricots vert invisible. Wine pairing fine, if pricy. A satisfying lunch.
Pera has consistently served delicious food for many years. It is my go-to place with clients as I know the food, service and ambiance are all fantastic. Highly recommend Pera!!
Service was good, food was fine. After reading reviews I expected more.
The service was pleasant but a little slow.
Pretty expensive for what it was. Too much chili powder, sumac and cumin on dips. Mean amount of bread provided with dips and had to persuade them to give me even that instead of pita chips; charged extra for it as well. No bread at all provided with vegetable timbale despite being spiced with a lot of harissa. Water refilled only sporadically. Nice baklava for dessert.
The service was phenomenal! The food was delicious! I would go back again.
Great Lamb Adana and trio of dips!!!!
Great Mediterranean food - perfect for business lunch
I have been to Pera multiple times over the years but my last visit on Saturday July 17th was marred by an extremely loud group (about 15+) of young folks who were celebrating a birthday very obstreperously. Large groups like that with a celebration should be taking a private room and not impose their noise and presence on other diners
The appetizers, octopus and artichoke, were excellent. The entrees were good (salmon was overcooked). The waitress was sweet but didn't seem to be very experienced.
The food was very good across the board. Had the hummus trio which was great. The steak frites were also very good. Only downside was that there was a very long wait (~45 mins) between arrival of our appetizer and our entrees.
Attentive service, excellent meal! We sat in the back room as it was much quieter and very pleasant.
Delicious food and amazing service. Would highly recommend
