We love the setting of Pequin as it has a really pretty view of the water. Menu seems much more limited than we remember from our past visits. The burgers were good but service was lacking. At one point we asked for another pitcher of water and the person said well I'm not your server but I can get it for you. Seemed strange because even though she wasn't the person who took our order, she did serve our food to us. They did acknowledge the birthdays we were celebrating with a free slice of cheesecake.

So disappointing! Beautiful facility in an amazing location. We ate there twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. At dinner the service was barely adequate. The menu was fairly small. I ordered halibut. It was overcooked and a bit dry. Accompaniments were mediocre. Found out later that the to go menu was larger and better. Very dog friendly, which we liked. Went back for breakfast. Service was better. Food was mediocre. We had to wait for 10-15 minutes even though there were many empty tables. Won’t go back.

While the server was very kind, she was not very attentive. She brought water right away, but it took her a while to come back and asked for drink orders. I was disappointed at the few fish selections on the menu. The fish of the day was salmon; I can get salmon anywhere, and the only other fish selection were shrimp and lobster. I was looking forward to local fish. There was tacos on the menu from the bar but it was beef pork and chicken. No fish tacos.. Drinks were good, but my sister ordered a Vodka martini, and that waitress didn’t ask for what kind of vodka she wanted, which we all thought was unusual. The salmon was cooked to perfection and presented very well . The shrimp with corn and grits was delicious.

Our server Makayla was amazing! She answered all of our questions and her customer service was beyond what we expected. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday so I chose to have our dinner outside by the fire pit overlooking the ocean as the sunset. It was perfect for us. A lot of the reviews mentioned the service was slow and I could see that if you have somewhere to go or are on a schedule. We had appetizers, dinner, dessert and drinks so we were there for about 2.5 hours….which we didn’t mind at all. We enjoyed the family friendly ambiance even though we were there without our kids. We will definitely come back.

Waitress greeted us professionally, when we ordered dinner we learned that they were out of four items on what was an already limited menu. Salad came out with the entree and waitress didn’t seem bothered by it. Caesar salad was not seasoned, neither was the steak. Steak was cooked correctly to medium rare

Pretty dull place. Hostess looked irritated and unenthusiastic. Our reservation was at 11:30 .. apparently they don’t have any specific menu so they offered only brunch. No drinks menu. Very disappointing

Generally service was good considering they were attending a large wedding rehearsal group-just out side on the patio. They were continually in and out serving and propping the door open which created a 'wind tunnel' effect. The food was great but service a little below par.

Stocked out of basically everything on the menu. Was a guessing game: “we will have the oysters” “sorry we’re out” “the market fish?” “Also no” “the lobster?” “Nope” “ok can you tell us what’s actually in stock?” (The answer was just two meat entrees that were so so and not what we wanted, they were nice and gave us a 15% discount because they realized how absurd it was, but still. They were also out of the dessert we tried to order lol)

Very nice spot on the beach- can’t beat the location in Pismo Beach. Food is good, Very small menu- which I don’t mind, but not many offerings for vegan’s. Staff is warm and friendly.

We really enjoyed our meal, the server was attentive and so friendly. Food was perfectly prepared. Parking was free for diners (first 2 hours) and locals get a 15 percent discount. We will be back.

We went for the Mother’s Day brunch, but were very disappointed. There was no information given about the brunch beforehand, so we (wrongly) assumed it would be a limited menu like their Easter brunch. The night before we received a message welcoming us to their buffet with “mouth-watering options” of a continental breakfast with the addition of “fresh baked pastries, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, and much more.” When we arrived we were seated with no menus, and no wait staff to check in on us or explain. After waiting for a bit we went to the buffet. The waitress had to run after us to check if we wanted the buffet or plated service. We decided on the buffet but were sorely disappointed. The scrambled eggs were bagged and turning green. The “country potatoes” were just fried potato cubes with no seasoning. There were no biscuits and gravy, like the email the night before mentioned. The pastries were overly sweet, and every single thing had blueberries in it, which one of our party are allergic to. The fresh fruit was just cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple sliced with the rind still attached. The bacon and prime rib were cold and soggy and dripping with oil. At the end they throw an 18% service charge on and then try to ask for more tip. We definitely will not be back.

This restaurant offeres a wonderful patio dining experience with good service and excellent food. The downside is the restaurant bar does not offer any blended drinks. A outside patio bar exists within easy walking distance of patio dining but when it is closed thre is no option for a blended cocktail, which is extremely odd given itslocation on the California Central Coast overlooking Pismo Beach.

Our waitress with the beautiful blue eyes and piercings made this experience magically. She got us chips and guac even though they aren’t on the dinner menu, she was right there every time we wanted a refill. She was fun, kind, and super attentive. The food was whatever, but she was great. The Mango Collins was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had btw.

Great patio. We had the Fried Brussels Sprouts and the House Guacamole, both were delicious. The Lavendar Margarita was very tasty also. But the highlight was our server Kate. Se was so sweet and fun. Best service so far this trip!

Being locals, we seldom dine near the Pismo Pier “in season”. But it was a Friday night and Vespera has valet parking, so we decided to be tourists in our own town. We enjoyed our starter salads. I had the Frisée Citrus Salad that was refreshing with a light touch of citrus vinaigrette. My spouse enjoyed the Baja Caesar. Both were of generous size. A single salad could have been shared. I ordered the Roasted Half Hen with a mole sauce. It was cooked throughout without being dry. The sauce was more tomato based and very good but not the flavor I was expecting based on the description. My husband ordered the Wagyu Picanha Steak which was cooked to order accompanied by mashed potatoes and asparagus. The agave glaze was slightly sweet and used to enhance the flavor of the beef instead of overpowering it. The steak was tender and properly handled by the chef. After dinner we took our drinks to one of the fire pits at the edge of the property to watch the sunset. Reminded us we need to enjoy our slice of paradise more often and return again soon to Pequin Coastal Cocina.

Unfortunately, their Easter event was not as advertised. Not a buffet, and it did not include crab as it stated on their website. They ran out of pastries at 9:30 and our server didn’t know the menu. Good luck finding a table away from the broken patio door that slams and creeks! One star for the yummy breakfast burger.

We had a fabulous experience! There were 5 of us - we made a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server greeted us and took care of us promptly the entire night (Lisa - rockstar). We got the chips and guacamole, Brussels sprouts, (each of us got the wagyu steak), and one of each of the desserts. Everything was cooked to perfection and so yummy. The manager was also polite and checked on us to make sure we were having a great experience (Drew). Overall our service, food, and experience was fantastic and we will be coming back!

I've been here multiple times and have never been disappointed in the least! Food is incredible. Service awesome! Atmosphere? C'mon you're right on the ocean so a convenient walk on the beach is somewhat mandatory! It's perfect for a date night because you can talk w/o having to talk over everyone else. One of the best places to enjoy life on the central coast.

saturday nigt 6pm and we were one of two tables seated on the patio. it was a lovely spot, warm and cozy, could hear the live guiatarist, who was great. overall service, food the whole experience was 'weak'.........i realize its our off time of year, and hope things will get better for you as the seasons change. we live in PB.

Busy night for Valentine's Day. The pre fixe menu was a 4 course, a mixed seafood appetizer, salad, Surf n Turf, and a chocolate tart for dessert. It included a bottle of sparkling wine. Everything was gorgeous. Food was delicious, candles on the table and amazing service. Definitely will be back!

Valentine Dinner - Was very cold inside. The manager was great, came and talked to us and made sure the door was closed. We ordered our drinks and they took a little while. I had their Old Fashion and my husband had Bombay Sapphire with olives, which I guess were extra. Our server was Emily, she seemed rather new. I ordered the Valentine Pre Fix, my husband ordered the fish of the day. We were brought 2 salads, he was not supposed to get one but one of the server said it was OK. Finally dinner came, I asked for medium for my steak and it was on the rare side. Sent it back, but by the time I got a new one (which I thought just cooked the steak longer) my husband was done with his dinner. The manager came back to see us and apologized and ended up taking quite a bit off our bill. I really appreciated that but the night was kinda spoiled. Might be a while before we go back. This was our 3rd time and previous dinners were fine. I guess most people choose the dinner special.

Love love love the new menu!!! The Fish Taco Special was great! The Caviar and the Oysters were superb last night. Definitely a new Pismo favorite.
