Great homemade pasta with artichokes and porcini mushrooms as well as Mediterranean octopus was fantastic. Beautiful service as well as creative drinks made for a wonderful evening .
It's all in the way you feel in an establishment and this family knows how to do it. They make everyone feel special while they serve top notch cuisine and drinks.
This family run establishment really knows how to take care of their patrons from great food to creative drinks, a nice wine list, and a caring staff. We loved everything we ordered and our server. I wish we could go there even more.
They have the best artichokes prepared Roman style and artichoke filled ravioli that are so good. Great veal dishes and seafood are also top notch. Breads and desserts all home made.
Great family run establishment.
2nd time there. Hit or miss with specials. Very pricey for some items, when their sister restaurant offers same thing cheaper. Bruschetta was good but lacking something. Dessert menu too expensive and nothing stood out. I have had carrot cake before and it was delicious. They should add that on permanently.
One of the best meals I have had in the state of Connecticut from service to food. All was amazing including all courses drinks, and wine list.
Great pastas, fresh seafood and veal are their specialties but they have great chops and prime beef All amazing. We also tried the fresh ricotta with strawberries and octopus both were amazing. Great pistachio martinis too
We ended with a homemade free form crostata and that just sealed the night perfect.
Everything was delicious, a little prices but very good quality
We were there for a birthday, was seated promptly at a beautiful window table. Are meal and service was perfection like always I had the double cut on the bone veal chop with wild mushroom risotto the best in Connecticut!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be bringing family and friends back as soon as I can to this in my opinion a Connecticut institution!
Great meal and wonderful atmosphere. Loved the halibut this time and the short rib ravioli.
Still by far the best Italian around. I should know I have been going to the this staple restaurant for almost 30 years. They are cutting edge as well as true the the cuisine using authentic products and techniques. They are the only restaurant that works with the wonderful truffles. They also prepare everything homemade. Their pastas are unbeatable as well as their fresh seafood and veal dishes. Phenomenal wine list and great service accompanies the stellar cuisine.
Amazing as usual Great menu, great ambiance , and a wonderful caring staff. We love going there because they make everyone feel special
What's there not to love about Peppercorn's Grill. Wonderful consistent experience every time we go there. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, and the food is cutting edge, interesting, and delicious. Better than all other restaurant in the area by far.
Great meal as usual. The saltimboca pasta and beef short ribs were phenomenal. So delicious.
The wine list is very extensive and has something for everyone.
What an outstanding meal. Tender octopus followed by pasta with fresh lobster amazing. The other guests were equally as happy with prime ribeye steak and halibut. The desserts we shared were also phenomenal. Tiramisu, carrot cake, and chocolate budino. Can't wait to go back.
Food was delicious! Collen was a wonderful, friendly and attentive server. Will definitely be returning
Great restaurant to eat before going to the Bushnell Theater in Hartford. Peppercorn’s offers a 20% discount on entrees hen attending the theater.
One of our favorite restaurants, food and wine are excellent.
Amazing meal before a movie. Beet salad, a winter version of the caprese salad, phenomenal risotto and homemade spaghetti noodles with saffron, arugula, and heirloom tomatoes topped with shavings of Parmesan
You got to try this !
Great pastas just like Italy if not better. All fresh ingredients and the best quality. We also tried their strawberry ricotta appetizer it was off the charts.
Chef Dino never ceases to amaze me. Fresh truffled pasta, organic strawberries with homemade ricotta, homemade ravioli, halibut with beautiful accompaniments, and veal chop
All was amazing and was complimented by great bottle of Faust Cabernet.
Everything we tried was amazing. From appetizers to dessert there were explosions of flavors in each item. The staff was very knowledgeable and pleasant, from door greeter to bartender to server. All in all a great evening.
We had a beautiful meal with many starters like lobster carpaccio, roman artichokes, stuffed peppers, and eggplant gratin. They were all fabulous. For entrees equally as delicious we tried the halibut fresh flaky and cooked to perfection along with a veal chop that was to die for . Great service and a nice espresso to end with.
Amazing meal, great menu with all kinds of choices. Nice ambiance, couldn't be better
Amazing meal before a game. Chef owner Dino can adapt to anything Truffles and Dover Sole as well as pasta with veal meatballs and sausage sliders all at the same table for different culinary needs. It was all delicious and their craft drinks are very creative also
The best fettuccine bolognese I ever had
The other entrees my party tells were just as wonderful. Amazing strawberry appetizer, great cocktail list. Finished with a wonderful tasting of biscotti and espresso. Simply wonderful on every count.
We visited Peppercorn which was highly rated for a dinner prior to attending an event at the Bushnell theater. We left 1.5 hours to eat and then make it to the theater. it was quite busy but we had reservations but were seated 15 minutes late after a little bit of prodding. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes before a server showed up. The manager was helpful, I think when she stopped by and said that a normal meal there takes 2 hours so we should probably order pasta. We were quite surprised that it would take that long to eat. It appeared as though they were overwhelmed due to the event but it is near the Bushnell so I would think it would not be a problem. From what we could see, some tables near us ordered an appetizer that did not show up until after the main course. We ordered gnocchi with tomato sauce and the ravioli with sage, orange butter sauce. The meal came fairly quickly as we ordered drinks and meal at same time. The waitress was pleasant but hard to locate at times during the meal. We tried about four times to get a cup of tea. The gnocchi was very starchy and not very pleasant. The tomato sauce was almost not existent, very dry. Overall a poor attempt. My ravioli was ok . Sauce was a bit bitter and the presentation was weak as the ravioli plate had a large puddle of sauce on once side. All in all, we will not be going back and will not be recommending. I was really surprised given how highly this place was rated.
Their was no wine list available asked for grated cheese never came we waited long time to order then the food came out super fast was it pre-cooked then reheated ? No salad with meal high priced for portions tables for two to close together felt like you were dining with the people next to you ! 2 entrees no salad 2 glasses of wine bill was 100.00 dollars no coffee no dessert !
Not terribly inspired food. Not bad quality, just perhaps too rich, not enough distinct flavors (e.g. more herbs and less butter for the lobster pasta dish would have made it quite a bit better; rib eye was ok, but perhaps I should have gotten the pepper corn sauce rather than whatever the special was). Bread and olive oil was very good. Overall a bit expensive relative to just ok food. Very good and friendly service despite a busy Saturday night. Will give it another try.
All about service and it was poor
Waiter forgot our order, came back and asked again and then forgot our app
Artichokes and meatballs were excellent. Pasta with lobster very tasty. Wine was great. Our service with Christine, as always, was the best!
A wonderful meal from start to finish. We had a tasting of the tagliolini con aragosta in addition to our entrees which were all sublime . The Valentine dessert plate had a delicate assemblage of long-stemmed chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate truffles, macaroons and biscotti that paired with espresso was a wonderful finish. 5 stars, with and extra one thrown in!
We were on our way to a Hartford Symphony and Peppercorn's was a great stop for dinner. We took advantage of the Valentine's Day fix price menu. Each item was delicious and both creative and attractively served. This was our second time there and we definitely will return soon again.
Outstanding as usual
Great risotto as well as homemade pasta with lobster. The special martinis were fabulous and they were so kind they offered chocolate hearts and pretty cookies due to Valentine's weekend.
A class act.
Great choice for Valentine's Day. Great special menu with all the traditional items for Lover's Day. Great homemade pastas, craft cocktails , and chocolate mousse or bread pudding . Great wine list with many reasonable buys. Great job to Peppercorns .
Been there for Valentine's Day for the last 7 years. Always a great experience. Food was cutting edge as usual. We loved the whole night.
The best Valentine's Day meal in years. The menu was fantastic everything fresh and beautiful. The chef even sent out surprises
What a classy thing to do in such a busy night
Kudos to everyone for such a good job
still by far the best risotto I have had west of Italy. The rest of the menu just as interesting and fun as well as perfectly prepared and presented. The dessert were fabulous also. it was Valentine's Day and everything we had was perfect in spite of the fact that it is one of the busiest days of the year. Fantastic!
Although we had a reservation, we were kept waiting for an additional 35 minutes. While we waited, although the bar wasn’t extremely busy, the bartender didn’t acknowledge our presence for at least 10 minutes. When he finally asked for our drinks he was neither friendly nor welcoming. The host that finally seated us was friendly. The server was knowledgeable on the offerings. She was neither a super-star nor a dud. However, due to the restaurant being understaffed, she was probably just tired. Unfortunately the food was much better suited for an elderly home. Very, very, very, very bland. The food tasted like warm paper. The plating was nice. Great presentation. If I had an Instagram account, it would have been great! For eating, not so much. Overall, the experience was not horrible, but definitely not what is expected for $145 for 2 people.
So pleased with our experience on Valentine's Day . Everything was fabulous from ambiance to food to service. The place was full full and looked beautiful with napkins formed into roses
Hearts decorated all windows and the filet the lobster the shrimp were the best
We finished with delicious strawberries and homemade cookies and truffles. A perfect evening.
Fabulous meal. We were there on Valentine’s Day so it was a bit crowded and even though we had a reservation we had to wait. But it was worth it. The orange ravioli was great. Surf and turf wa perfectly cooked. Highly recommend.
