About Peppercorns Grill
Peppercorn’s Grill and Piccolo Arancio are owned and operated by the Cialfi siblings, Sal and Dino, Brothers Sal and Dino purchased Peppercorn's Grill in 1989 and they opened Piccolo Arancio in 1994. This generation of Cialfi's has added modern creativity and personality to traditional strengths of their Italian upbringing.
Sal and Dino were trained in the art of Italian food at their uncle's restaurant in Rome. When the opportunity to open there own restaurant arose that jumped at the opportunity and opened the first Piccolo Arancio in Rome Piccolo Arancio became internationally acclaimed within their first year. Now operated by their cousins, Piccolo Arancio remains near the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
Both restaurants produce award-winning cuisine and continue to receive high honors and awards.

Great after holiday meal. The Rack of Lamb and the yellowfin tuna were phenomenal. It was quieter than usual due to after holiday and extreme cold temperatures outside. But we had a great time and there was still a very positive vibe in the restaurant. Bar was hopping before storm that was predicted. Can't wait to go back.
Such a cold night outside but nice and toasty inside. Warm and friendly efficient service with great a meal of wonderful flavors
Homemade pasta with Maine lobster and wild mushrooms was awesome accompanied by A crab crusted cod and saffron sauce that was perfect. A tuna appetizer was delicious as well as picture perfect. We loved everything including our bottle of medium price ranged Barbaresco. Thanks you all the staff.
We went to Peppercorn’s for a holiday meal after a long day of shopping. The food was an amazing symphony of flavors. The meal was creative and served with all the freshest ingredients. I had no idea that all the food at Peppercorn’s Grill was made from scratch, just amazing. Our server was Michael V. and he knew the menu like the back of his hand and all of his recommendations were spot on.
Peppercorn's has delicious food and generally good service. Unfortunately, they had a staffing problem that night. The bartender was actually taking orders for the servers. The service was lackluster at best and somewhat inattentive. I think this was an off night.
Extremely efficient staff from Nicole the woman at the door to the wait staff. They all went out of their way to make our evening memorable even though they were very busy. Food and drink were also amazing with fettuccine with white truffles being the high point .
Late dinner on Saturday night after a comedy show. Street parking was easy to find. Restaurant had a good crowd @ 9:30 but no problem getting a nice table.
We split a delicious asparagus salad, had tagliolini w/ lobster & mushrooms and chilean sea bass entrees. We split a cream brulee for dessert. Food was very good, cooked perfectly, with large portions.
Waitstaff was efficient & courteous, perhaps even a bit overly attentive prior to the food being served.
Bill was $135 includibg the tip. Overall I give peppercorn’s four stars, but only three stars for value.
A friend and I arrived for a late dinner and the restaurant was nearly empty. We were seated at a tiny table for two in a location that I would not describe as desirable, given that we really could have been seated anywhere. Soon after we sat down, a party of six was seated at the next table. It might have been nice, given that the place was nearly empty, to give both tables a little space. It seemed that some of the women at the other table were potentially "regulars," so were given a lot more attention than we were. It wasn't a huge issue, but anyone in service should know that a good rule of thumb is to treat all customers equally. Although the salad was rather salty and the risott0 a little firmer than I might have liked, the food was generally quite good. I don't have any great urge to return, based on our experience.
I worked in Hartford in the 90's but haven't spent that much time here in the last 20 years. Needed a restaurant close enough to the Bushnell to walk over after dinner. Was very impressed at how well the place seems to be doing. The service, food and ambiance was terrific and it brought back alot of memories, like visiting an old friend. Hope to be back again soon.
