Sal and Dino were trained in the art of Italian food at their uncle's restaurant in Rome. When the opportunity to open there own restaurant arose that jumped at the opportunity and opened the first Piccolo Arancio in Rome Piccolo Arancio became internationally acclaimed within their first year. Now operated by their cousins, Piccolo Arancio remains near the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
Both restaurants produce award-winning cuisine and continue to receive high honors and awards.
Peppercorn's Grill and Piccolo Arancio received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 10 years
Great setting to a nice evening with friends.
Loved everything especially the pasta
Very enjoyable evening
The food was fabulous, creative and delicious. The veal chop is the best anywhere! Compliments to Eduardo who provided outstanding service tonight. Many thanks to Dino, the chef and owner, who clearly takes great pride in ensuring that Peppercorns does not disappoint.
Perfect place to gather with “friends of long standing” for a delicious dinner.
We always enjoy our visit to Peppercorns. The food and service are consistently good. I was a little disappointed that the Negroni cocktail that was listed on the menu as $10.00 was printed on the bill as $12.00. I was told to tell the waitress but we were going to a show and time wasn’t available. The computer should be checked for accuracy when printed out the cost of items ordered. .
This was my 2nd time at Peppercorns and it was the charm. Both the gnocchi and rigatoni were cooked al dente (as it should be) and the Bolognese sauce is one of the best I've had. The atmosphere was relaxed and Bill was a very attentive waiter. It was the perfect prelude to a night at the Bushnell, which we were able to walk to from the restaurant. The menu is limited but covers all the bases. Would suggest it to anyone looking for good food and a good glass of wine. Kudos to Chef Dino Cialfi.
Great meal with great service
Awesome service food was great
Great evening with a wonderful menu.
The pasta is delicious as well as the veal dishes
Homemade bread a great beginning to the night
The food and service was outstanding. We were seated at a table for two, but it was a little tight. It was the only minor downside to an otherwise wonderful dining experience.
Enjoyable experience. Great food, nice menu, pleasant service, and friendly ambiance
Had a great time. Food was good and well prepared. Staff was friendly and efficient. Only caveat was there was a bit of delay between 1st and 2nd course. Normally this would not have been a problem, but we did bring to our waitress' attention we were going to a show at the Bushnell resulting in all of eating faster than we would have liked.
We ate here before a show. At sitting I informed the maître d and he asked me to let the waiter know. The waiter did not come to the table for an extended period and the maître d actually took our drink order. Obviously we were in somewhat of a hurry because of our show but had not even talked to the Waiter! Finally, the waiter approached the table for our drink order and we indicated it had already been taken! Another delay, before our drinks could be found! I impressed upon the waiter our time issue and they did finally take our food order. A small recovery occurred when the food arrived very promptly such that we could just make the show on time! Also, our drinks were gratis given the delays. I had not been to Peppercorns in a number of years but the excellence of the food remains!
Pleasant atmosphere. Nice location. Food and service were average. Prices were a little high. Anytime I have to pay $11.00 for a glass of wine that comes less than half full is a negative to me.
Amazing scallops and pumpkin ravioli.
Nice efficient server pleasant surroundings
We had an excellent pre-theatre dinner at Peppercorn’s Grill. Food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent, and if you have theatre tickets you get 20% off the price of entrees.
We have been to Peppercorns 4 times this year, This time was no exception: The appetizers and pasta meals we ordered (4 of us) were all delicious. Service was attentive and very pleasant. It was a bit crowded and noisy when we arrived at 7:00 PM but quickly subsided after many patrons left to get to a show at the Bushnell. Nevertheless our table was available as soon as we arrived. If you prefer a quiet atmosphere, on evenings like this my suggestion would be to delay the reservation until 7:30 or 8:00 PM.
We came here before a show at the Bushnell, which is very close. Service was prompt and attentive.
The food was very good.
Everything was delicious and well-executed from the kitchen. Service was on-point . We were going to a show at The Bushnell and they made sure our timing was good.
We returned to Peppercorns for dinner before a show after a long hiatus and will return. The food is delicious and Mario dotes on you as though you are an important person.
Always excellent food and great service from our favorite server-Dominique. The gnocchi bolognase was just wonderful.
Good food. Service excellent
Peppercorns is the perfect restaurant. The food is inventive and creative. The staff is delightful and well tuned. Such a pleasure to dine in such a nice cutting edge restaurant when there are so many places that can be so run of the mill.
Just a wonderful experience! The steak was cooked to perfection and the carrot cake was to die for!
I eat here a lot, and would love to see more variety on the menu. Nice to have a sandwich selection or two for lunch, in addition to salads and entrees.
Great food - a Hartford favorite. Recommend on theatre nights and any other night. Wish they’d go back to the Italian/classical music, though. Food outstanding.
Fantastic setting for a business meeting. The menu was authentically Italian with knowledgeable staff, a beautiful wine list, and nice ambiance. They really treat their customers like royalty. My associates are always excited when we go to Peppercorn.
Amazing from beginning to end . We had a most enjoyable evening. Everything was just perfect.
It seems that every time we go to Peppercorns it gets better and better. The food, the service, wine list all top notch. This is definitely a little gem in Hartford and they always come through with flying colors.
This restaurant is great on every count. Impeccable food, great service and atmosphere, a wonderful wine list, and lovely homemade desserts. The ravioli are to die for, the homemade pastas, fresh seafood and veal dishes all over the top. Kudos to the whole staff.
Amazing in every way. Food, wine list, service, ambiance everything just perfect
One of the best meal in a very long time. Great pastas and seafood with efficient and caring service. The dessert just topped the meal with a fabulous carrot carrot cake and an Italian chocolate pudding that was over the top.
We were treated like royalty from beginning to finish. Amazing cuisine with professional service and a great feel in the restaurant. The Italian cuisine is cutting edge with many wonderful choices. Great job to the whole staff.
The dinner and drinks were excellent, however our server disappeared for long periods of time. It looked like she had quite a few tables to cover so we understood the dilemma
Food was good and server was excellent.
Had the veal osso bucco. It was fall off the bone yumminess. Service was attentive and helful.
We absolutely love this place.
