Chanel was a fabulous waitress!! The first Bite menu was excellent. Thank you!!
We enjoyed coming to Pepper for the first time, for First Bite Boulder. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the salmon with sushi rice cake and bok choy. The restaurant is really pretty and comfortable, and the wait staff was great.
I love this place! Great staff and high quality food!
Burnt 2/6 of an expensive steak
Entrees were delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive. Appetizers could be better and dessert was not that great.
Drinks were poured with a thimble for shots. Wine pours very uneven. Shorted us on oysters order. Cauliflower was ok. Entrees not hot but tasted ok dessert just ok. The drinks were the killer, won’t go back.
Our party of five was seated downstairs, and immediately I sensed this restaurant chosen for 1st Bite Boulder was going to be a great choice. We came at 5:30 for Happy Hour menu and every appetizer we ordered was wonderfully flavorful. We could easily converse because of how quiet it is. Our server was exceptional and food terrific. Plus the value $29 for our prize fixe dinners made all five of us move Pepper up to the top of our list of Fav Boulder restaurants.
Loved it! The brick chicken, mussels, and Brussel sprouts were amazing!
we went for date night Tues.
We had looked up the menu before hand.
The dishes and wines we had seen online were not on the menu when we went
only 2 dishes were not an extra charge-one vegetarian
It seems prices are going up and there are surprises from what you saw on the menu online the day before
50% of the dishes on menu were an extra charge
sizes are going down
we have been going to date night for several years and may not be going in the future as it feels like a bait and switch
Ben was a perfect server. Drinks were goods
Our server was great! Kept us with drinks. She made sure we were never waiting for our food. It was a great experience!
At first I was disappointed that we were seated in the “basement” since other reviewers had been disappointed, but for the 4 of us “ladies of a certain age” it was perfect: quiet, intimate, lovely ambience with exposed stone and brick. Our waitress seemed very young and we “profiled” her, thinking she wouldn’t be educated about the wine selection, but she was very knowledgeable. The food was great, something for everyone, and we enjoyed Pepper very much. Brussels Sprouts appetizer is not to be missed!
Ended up being somewhat disappointed in our meal. The place looks great and the service was good. We just were not wow-ed by the meal. The highlight was the apple/manchego salad. The brussel sprouts, pear salad, and grilled cheese/tomato soup were nothing special.
Excellent salad, mediocre burger because the cooking of meat was not right, good wine by the glass, beautiful downstairs room.
The happy hour was overall a great value for delicious food. The brussel sprouts were the best I have had and the calamari was also very good. I would appreciate a little more variety on the HH menu, esp a few more vegetables and other vegetarian options.
Excellent food, good ambiance for a business dinner with 6. Beet salad was solid. Green curry was tasty. Those who had king salmon and short ribs were happy.
The food was yummy but they were out of some menu items. Service was slow but ok - the server forgot one of our items. Very slow to refill water and to check on us.
Tried Pepper for the first time and were disappointed. We were seated near the door, and next to a silverware/water station and the bar. Drafts of cold air from the constantly-banging door, and a group of six people who stood right next to us, sharing one bar stool while they had one drink (and then left), were unfortunate. When our order was taken at 7:30 PM the kitchen had already run out of two items that we had wanted (one hors d and one main). The curry entrée was gloppy, unfortunately. In the future we will choose to eat at The Kitchen, Salt, Riffs, Arcana, Via Perla or The Kitchen Next Door.
Food was super yummy. Lots of gluten free which we always appreciate. Service was a little spotty
thus the slightly lower rating. I will absolutely return and look forward to many more great meals there.
Good selection of food and wine, beautiful ambiance. Staff was helpful and available!
I recommend dining in the smaller room downstairs for a more intimate experience. Food was fantastic - the steak was AMAZING!
Sunday night dinner. Not crowded -- but waited at table for almost 20 minutes before server came by for the first time. Once ordering etc. commenced things went fairly well but some basic issues (not checking to see how steak should be prepared, offering to check whether a dish was gluten free and not confirming before bringing to table) came up. At the end of the day it was clear that the server was covering too many tables, and the food was delicious. So overall not a bad experience but a bit disappointed for a $175 dollar evening. I would give the place a second chance though.
It was good not great. In Boulder, I am not sure you can get by on good when there is so much great food opportunities. The prices were fair the service was slow and poorly coordinated.
Was awesome. Server was nice and concerned for our experience.
A girlfriend birthday and fun time—a little Prosecco and deep conversation, accompanied by wonderful, alive food! Thank - you, Bryce!! Great service!
Our server Brennon went above and beyond to make our birthday dinner very special. Food was delicious and full of flavor
We went to this restaurant on a Sunday as we had checked their menus on line and liked their brunch listing. We arrived at the restaurant at around 11:00 am, were seated, were looking at the menus and didn't see any brunch items. We asked the waiter for a brunch menu as it was shown on their web site and were told they no longer did brunch. We were disappointed but stayed and ordered from the lunch menu. In fairness, the food was good and our drinks were comped but we were their for brunch as was shown on their web site and they didn't have it.
Loved it! Sat downstairs! Very cool!
We had a great dinner on Friday night of Parents Weekend. We were seated in the lower room, which was cozy and quiet- great for conversation and catching up. The calamari was delicious, Halibut special was perfectly done, burgers and Brussels sprouts excellent. Wait staff was very attentive and helpful with choosing the perfect wine. Overall I would highly recommend it!
Great place for a celebration! Food was so fresh. Superb!
Things to love: (1) GF kitchen!!! (2) wine on draft (which means delish for low cost (3) exciting food.
All of us had something different from burger to salad to calamari. Yum yum. Good music. Friendly vibe. Great service. Yes- will return.
First time. Everyone ordered different entrees. Very nice. We will be back.
I love this place; service was great. Thank-You, Bradford Heap, for your dedication to high quality food! You are deeply appreciated.
The food was good and the portions were generous but the service was really poor. I ordered an extra dirty martini to start and it came as just vodka with a couple olives in it. I asked for more olive juice to make it "dirty" and she brought me more olives. Again, I explained that it was the olive juice that made a martini dirty. She then told me that the bar was "out" of olive juice and went to the restaurant next door. My martini has been sitting on the table untouched for 10 minutes now and she finally delivers a little glass of olive juice in a very warm (just out of the dishwasher?) jar. Now my martini is warm. I was still charged $9 for it (well vodka). Both tables next to us also had issues with their meals and had to send food back to be re-done. The service was neither friendly nor attentive. It was decent food, decent prices, and good portions. Had the service been good, I would go back. By the way, the restaurant was half full and we had a reservation..yet we were still seated all the way at the last table in the back next to the bathrooms.
Sat at the bar. It was not busy... Took 15 minutes to get cocktails which were both warm, not chilled. Ordered two appetizers. 30 minutes later we still had no food. A couple next to us had sat down 15 minutes after us, received the same appetizers that we had ordered before we received ours. We overheard them say “these are cold” in reference to the buffalo cauliflower. When we asked for the check and said we were going to pass on the food the bartender tossed the bill on the bar top and walked away. He did not say anything. No apologies, no have a good night...
Wonderful service and Delicious Food made for a memorable date night.
Our waiter was outstanding.
Food was cold, but was replaced quickly, and was excellent. Lighting was a little bright, but lowered when we asked. The manager was attentive and present- which I consider a good sign. Good vibe- will definitely go back.
Service was horrible, waiter was new and had no clue about the menu but the food was delish!
Food was very average . I had the quinoa burger and it was odd looking and tasting . Gin tonic cocktail was not good . Not very attentive service. It was nice and quite there for conversation. I would not go back .
