PepeNero Ristorantino Italiano / Ballaro Wine Lounge
In addition to our dining menu, enjoy Italian tapas - small plates in our chill wine lounge.
It is also the place to experience some of the finest Italian wines featuring an extensive wine list.
Everything was great and the staff maintained just the right presence throughout the dinner.
We were looking for a perfect place to enjoy a nice dinner that we hadn't been to yet for our 17th anniversary and definitely found it. Thanks to the staff at PePeNero.
Brad was a great server, who was very knowledgeable about the wines, and the food.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who is in the Traverse City area.
Our first time there. Everything was great, we will definitely go back.
Wonderful meal and a great waitress.
food was exquisite. Service was top notch. I will be telling everybody how wonderful it is!
Awesome! The food is spectacular. Great service too.
Delicious as always. Karen was our server and did an excellent job. Went for office celebration on a Tuesday night, so noise was lower than on a busy night. To be fair, weekend nights are not overly loud, either.
Special night out with my wife
New Year’s Eve dinner with friends
Excellent drinks, food & service, as always
Excellent cocktails. Excellent service. Excellent good. No complaints.
Fantastic food and service! Highly recommend. If you are in Traverse City do not miss this experience.
This was one of the bets meals we've eaten since leaving Tuscany! Comfort food with a high-end twist! Worth every penny!
We had the most insightful servers and staff. They were able to provide us with wines that we both loved. Would absolutely recommend this place.
Great food and service. Staff recommendations were delicious.
I cannot day enough good things about this place. One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.
Top spot in Traverse City for high quality cuisine, wine, ambience and service!
We had great service, the staff was amazing, fast and friendly. We had a pasta dish with shredded pork that was amazing and an appetizer similar to crab cakes that was out of this world
Had a wonderful, personalized experience. Our server was knowledgeable and made some wonderful recommendations. The gnocchi and polpo were to die for.
Girl’s Night Out
Overpriced for quantity and quality of food. Perhaps it was just the selection we picked but based on the amount we spent for what we received, I would not return.
Best restaurant in town!
Just love the small plate menu!
We were celebrating my birthday. The reservation card acknowledged this and thanked us for choosing PepeNero for our gathering.
PepeNero is my favorite restaurant in Traverse City. The food is fantastic and we are never disappointed with our overall dining experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.
As always, we were pleased with the fabulous food and service. Karen explained and described everything to our out of town friends and they were impressed with the entire evening. Thank you for always bringing your “A” game, and making our dining experience the best there is!
Very disappointing evening. Initially our visit to PepNero started off nice, 50 minutes after our salad was served, no entrees. Given multiple excuses, although everyone who came in after my wife and I were served a complete meal and left. While the server attepted to excuse the excessively long wait and lack of food due to a large party being served before us, everyone one around use was served. At the 50 minute mark, we were told our food was being plated. 10 minutes later no food and we asked for the check. No one came to the table to address the issue. No discount or adjustment made for our bill. Very, very disappointing. Would not recommend.
Excellent food. Great ambiance and waitress was great but it does take quite a while for food so plan on 2 hours for dinner
Outstanding food and service! Highly recommend this fabulous restaurant.
My husband and I chose PepeNero to celebrate one week of being married. The restaurant was so sweet and brought us a special glass of sparkling wine to celebrate our special occasion. Really enjoyed our experience and will be back!
This is one of the best restaurants in Traverse City--which is saying a lot for town with so many outstanding places. I especially like the wonderful service including the chef-owner coming to the table. Oh, and the bar staff for sure know what they are doing. So...four stars from me.
What a wonderful meal. Everything was delicious. The service we received from Brad was outstanding. We enjoyed meeting the Chef. A very memorable evening. We can’t wait to visit again.
The food is good but they are trying too hard to be "up scale". could use some thimble things like a small dinner salad...
Dined here for the fourth or fifth time this past week. Restaurant 25-30% full, plenty of staff visible. Food was wonderful. Atmosphere lovely. "Value": its expensive. Worth it 1x or 2x a year but special occasions only. Service was fine with one rather noticeable hiccup. Our food was delivered to our table by the food delivery person and placed on a tray. He served one guest's meal, whispered something to our waitress, who was engaged with another table, and disappeared into the ether leaving our food sitting on the service tray ... where it sat for more than a couple of minutes. The water server, who dutifully filled our water 5-6 times over the course of our meal, stood there next to us and made no move to serve the food while our waitress remained engaged with her back to us at the other table. What arcane work rules are in place such that one server would serve a single guest and then have to leave the table thus leaving the other four meals cooling on a tray table side? Is the water server limited in function such that she could not exercise the initiative to either serve the food or remind the waitress that the food is sitting there? Don't know. We had a very nice time anyway, but I can imagine there are customers that might be less easy going. Did I mention that everyone's food was delicious :-)
Our food was wonderful and our waiter was awesome! Great cocktails too
We (4 of us) all had the butternut squash soup, a recommendation by our waiter and it was outstanding! The entrees were all delicious, especially the seafood stew. The restaurant is in one of the very interesting historic Victorian buildings at the Commons. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Very nice experience, great atmosphere and delicious food, our waiter was awesome will definitely be back next time in town.
The food was uninspired, wine was excellent, bread was tasty, dessert was just ok. The service was attentive, sometimes overly so.
First Visit: Awesome!
House very busy, but no delays, service was impeccable, flavors, menu choices were exceptional.
Everything was wonderful but the prices are very high for what you receive.
