Peohe's - Coronado Waterfront Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The scenery is excellent. Try and get a table right next to the water overlooking San Diego Bay and the Coronado bridge. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and it is the best that I've had. The service is also exceptional Thomas is very good. Wne selection is also very good and do not miss the Lava Cake!
I love seafood, my hubby loves red meat! This was the perfect choice!!
Chilean Sea Bass with Baja salsa was fantastic!! The flavors were so mouthwatering!
Hubby had Prime Rib and said it was one of the best pieces of meat he'd ever had!
Had the chocolate lava cake was to die for!!!
Great food, beautiful views and (finally) good service. I came here for a birthday dinner, as I am a Landrys club member and had a birthday reward. Food was excellent and service was good.
My party of 3 ordered the prime rib, stuffed tilapia and the filet and lobster. We also ordered oysters, the crab stack and peohe’s salad. Everything from the bread to our entrees were delicious.
It’s been hit and miss as far as service here the past several years, but this time was nice. Must be new management. The whole experience was wonderful.
I recommend this restaurant.
Mu husband and I Traveled from the Northwest to San Diego for the weekend. Dined Sunday night (offered Sunday-Thurs.) on their special three course meal. I did not care for my clam chowder-husband said his was ok. I did enjoy the replacement salad-though over dressed. We both chose the coconut shrimp which we enjoyed and a rich ice cream pie for dessert-- left us not able to clean our plate. Parking was free--Hotel Del Coronado charged $30.00 for 75 minutes. Service was very good, view fantastic of the San Diego skyline from Coronado Island. I think their "distinctive dining" menu at $35.00 (must bring a copy with you--see their website) without many options--still well worth it.
We went to Peohe’s for my mom’s birthday. We had a table with a beautiful view of the city and bay. The staff personalized her menu, gave her a birthday card and beautiful dessert. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive It was a really pleasant experience.
We came to Peohe's to celebrate my birthday.
It was a cool evening and we were seated outside. After being seated we asked to be moved inside.
After being seated we watched two other parties being shown tables outside and then requesting to be moved inside. The evening was a little cool for outside dining. Propane heaters used are for show rather than heat.
We were given a table with great view. BUT there was lack of communications about our move. After being reseated, no server appeared for almost 20 minutes. We asked server at a nearby table who our server was, he said he would check but took our drink order. When drinks were served he said he guessed he was our server by default. Took our order anyway. He had hardly sipped our drinks when soup arrived, before soup was finished, salads arrived. Asked server to slow down on bringing entrees.
I had ordered the large prime rib, medium. It arrived medium rare. I asked for fire to bring to requested temp. It was returned. Not much closer to medium. Rather than take more time to send it back, I ate all but the very rare center. Medium is hot pink center, not cool red.
Soups, spinach salad and my wife's Halibut were excellent.
Happy Birthday dessert was nice touch.
For a special occasion these details were disappointing.
I regularly go to Peohe's for their fabulous happy hour. This time I went for a business lunch. I made a reservation online a few days in advance. I was in meetings right up until the time we left for the restaurant. Upon arrival, I found that our table for seven was not ready. I was told it was because I had not verified my reservation via phone, that the restaurant had left me a voice mail. Yes, they did, at 11:09am for a 12:00 reservation, a call I could not take since I was in a meeting, and had not een checked my voice mail or missed calls yet. We were made to wait 20 minutes for our table in a restaurant that was mostly empty. Although I will continue to frequent Peohe's for happy hour, I will not schedule a business lunch there in the future.
The service was good; I have food allergies and they helped us find something acceptable. However, the menu doesn't always specify all ingredients which was a problem and I had to return my appetizer. I normally love most Landry's properties, but my experience here wasn't 5 stars. I would try again, but I would order something else next time.
There are a few really good restaurants on Coronado, but we ended up choosing Peohe's to celebrate our anniversary. No regrets. We were seated outside and had a nice view of the bay, as well as downtown San Diego. Between the time we got there and the time we left the sun went down, so it was interesting to see how different things looked. The view after was awesome.
Our server was very pleasant and personable, and did a great job taking care of us. Our food was excellent. The clam chowder is not too liquidy and has a good amount of chunks in it. Although I came for seafood I had the short rib dinner. It was very tasty, and so tender I did not need a knife. My wife said her ahi tuna was possibly the best she ever had. We thought it could not get any better, but then they brought the dessert. We had already planned to split it, and a good thing we did. It was huge. Even though it had ice cream, we took a good part of it back with us. They did a good job packaging it for us so that it was fine by the time we got back, and we were very happy to have more at another time.
We were in Coronado for a week. We considered going back a second time. The only reason we did not is that we just wanted to try another place.
Peohe's can be pricey, but we would definitely recommend, and we will for sure be back the next time we visit
Peohe’s in Coronado💕 I’ve wanted to eat here for a long time. What better special occasion than an Anniversary! Everything we tried was spot on and delicious, not to mention the service. Our server David R was the best! We even got a signed Card from everyone that made it all the more “Special”
And can you believe the printed Menus with our 36th Anniversary wishes??? Thank you Peohes for making this night so memorable!!!
Very nice views. The food is very good and they accommodate requests for substitution. It was a quiet night for them. Lots of tables open so they were able to accommodate us as we arrived earlier than the reservation time and we sat by the window with a very nice view. They added a free dessert to celebrate our special occasion. Very nice overall dining experience.
