We visited to take out our San Diego relatives, and could not have been any happier ! Beautiful views of the bay (including Naval Ships passing by...), great food, very friendly service and reasonable prices ! Can't wait to return !
We had a group of 9 people, and chose Peohe's mainly because of the waterfront location. It was a beautiful night, and the views are spectacular. The menu is very creative, and everyone in our group enjoyed their entrees. All of us would recommend Peohe's
It’s sad that Peohe’s is not up to the standards of any good Restaurant in San Diego. They rely more on their amazing views and all the tourists then on quality food.
The Prime Rib Sandwich, the Seafood Cobb salad, the raviolis and even the fish tacos are all less than average and not worse the elevated prices. Definitely not for foodies or anyone who is looking for a tasty experience.
The waiter, Scott, was very attentive.
Crab/ mango appetizer was good, First artichoke was undercooked, second wasn’t much better. Stuffed Tilapia was good , but the shrimp with linguini was very disappointing . Shrimp was burnt and dry and sauce was bland. Expected better, service was very good and View wonderful.
Always a favorite of ours. Great view and good food. Tonight was a little slow on the service side, but still had an enjoyable time.
Great views, friendly service, and delicious food.
We waited over 1 hour for our drinks including water despite reservations. Our server did try to make up for this by giving extra appetizers however still very slow. Also unable to split a check despite multiple people at the table.
My girls first visit to SD. We had a great time. The waitress was amazing! Food even better!
They got a lot wrong and not much right. Could’ve been great but the attention to detail was severely lacking.
Server offered water options wanted regular water but brought still water at a cost. Appetizer came out quick but waited over an hour for main course. Very unhappy with service level . Offered desert as consolation but had to wait longer and was not interested in desert. Will not return
Food was good and the view was really nice. I enjoyed seeing the downtown skyline while having dinner. The only issue I had was the waiter taking some time to check on our table.
We had an enjoyable dinner. The food was delicious & we had a great table on the water. Our waitress had a very cute personality & was knowledgeable about the menu.
Great view, great service, really good food. Good place for a business meal.
The restaurant is a lovely setting so be clear where you want to sit otherwise you get put out under an adjacent tent looking at the ship yard. Cocktails were very good and served up. The cocoanut shrimp was nicely battered and crunchy but had no flavor. They give you 8 shrimp butterflied on a pile of white rice noodles sitting in a white tortilla shell with a side of white rice and three tasty sauces. Presentation was not their strength. That said the others had prime rib and my little taste was the best I’ve ever eaten and would highly recommend that entree. They acknowledged the anniversary of the other couple we were with and presented them with an anniversary card signed by the staff and a tasty complimentary dessert and gave well wishes. The Kona cappuccino dessert coffee was also delicious. The view is the best treat of this restaurant, just make sure you get the right table.
Love this place!! Beautiful waterfront view overlooking the Coronado Bridge and San Diego skyline! Our server Alex was right on with his suggestions...had the best Coconut Shrimp for lunch...and the Mango Mojito he made for me is now my new favorite drink! Prices were so much more reasonable than we expected...birthday lunch with my husband...we won't wait for my next birthday to come back!!
My partner and I went to celebrate my birthday. We had a lovely booth overlooking the water. Our food was OK, the lobster was very good, but the lobster bisque was not tasting well to me. The server brought me a delicious birthday treat with oreo and macadamia and it was very sweet. It is a nice place and will go again.
The servers here are always a pleasure to meet. Peohe's are doing a great job recruiting.
Raw oysters were great, especially with no "blue ice", which is unappetizing.
Sushi was popular with our guests.
Went to celebrate a birthday, food was good as was the service. Had the coconut and ginger soup which had the exotic taste I was w pecking. Then I had the tower, a combination of different shellfish served on a three-level tower. It was good but the crab had lost some of its distinctive taste as had the oysters and jumbo prawns.
Drank the Federalist red blend which was a nice surprise.
A good dining experience but not worth another visit.
Someone recommended this place when we were visiting Coronado. Glad they did- it was great!
Great food/Cara our server provided great service. Great atmosphere as well. Will definitely dine there again.
The food was great and our table had a great view of San Diego
Had a wonderful experience for my wife's birthday while her girlfriends were in town. Service, food and view were all terrific. Was a memorable evening.
Service was great. Food was very good. Thank you.
Our server Carina was fabulous, lovely personality, totally helpful. Made up for the stiff who seated us. Food quality was perfect and decent value. We recommend the crab/mango/avocado stack, the Thai ginger chicken soup, the seafood Cobb salad. The undersea decor was ok, for that style, more a distraction than an attraction. However, the waterfront deck seating and the patio room were very nice. But how odd to seat people at adjoining tables when the place was empty. Wonderful view. And why have the doors locked until EXACTLY 11:30? Open up, invite them to sit on the entry’s many banquettes, give them access to the restrooms.
We didnt get sauce with our onion rings when we asked for them to go
We secured our reservation from OpenTable for 6:45; on arrival, the staff seemed flummoxed, saying they were setting our table. We waited a full 15 minutes, only to find they had MULTIPLE tables available.
On initiating our service, the server took drink orders, salad orders, and an artichoke app; once she served drinks, it seems she must have "retired" - she repeatedly served an adjacent table, but our table for 6 was -apparently - not visible. After approximately 1/2 hr, we stopped her, suggesting she may want to check on our artichoke, bring the salads we'd ordered, and - how 'bout this - consider fetching more drinks?
After that service improved. NOT up to Peohe's standards at the reception desk or c/ service.
They personalized the service for my husband's birthday which was an extra special touch!
We all enjoyed the food and drink for the special occasion and will be back!
Our server was amazing, very friendly and great service.
Thank you for making our visit a memorable one!
Our party of 6 was seated at a very comfortable table with the most incredible 180 degree
view of the San Diego skyline and lights. We ordered an appetizer of Calamari to share and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and a very generous portion. Our drinks varied from Bloody Mary's to Mojitos and all were enjoyed. Most of our main courses had shrimp (either stuffed
with crab, Coconut shrimp, or with pasta) and one Mahi Mahi dinner. All were delicious...the
best were the Mahi Mahi, Coconut Shrimp and the one with Shrimp and Pasta...though the crab stuffing was great, the shrimp for those dishes was a bit overdone, though still tasty.
A nice touch for the birthday celebrant was a welcome with his name printed on the menu (and then rolled up for him to take home). The birthday Macadamia nut ice cream to share was so delicious and it was so generous of the waiter to bring two slices since one to share wouldn't have been enough. Only error of the evening was that theyaccidentally brought the Coconut Shrimp in the appetizer portion, but the minute we mentioned it they immediately took it away and within minutes brought the correct entrée sized portion. Ambiance of the whole restaurant is wonderful and the view was just magical. Only annoyance was the sound of the door to the
deck banging each time it was opened and closed (and it was directly by our table). Otherwise, a fabulous dinner and we'll be back!
I am a native San Diegan and used to go to the Chart House at its former location near the Hotel Del Coronado. The new waterfront location is just gorgeous! I bought two friends from out of town who were visiting San Diego for the first time. For our Ladies' Night, I wanted to impress them on how glamorous the San Diego Waterfront is. They LOVED Peohe's! The friendly service, location, and the food (appetizer, main seafood dishes, and dessert) exceeded our expectations. We had no complaints, just great memories. The next day at class, we couldn't stop bragging to our classmates how much fun we had at the Waterfront. Many thanks to Peohe's for making my friends' evening a wonderful experience!
Excellent!! Only downside was the music. Somehow with that beautiful setting and wonderful food it was a shame to hear the likes of Supertramp.
Great view of San Diego !! Unique interior !!
We've been going to Peohe's off and on for many years. The views back to the city of
San Diego are outstanding and is a great spot to bring out of town guests. Recently,
the pricing of particularly dinner entrees has increased substantially. The food is
good but not as competitive as some other fish restaurants. So i guess you are paying
a premium for the view. Peohe's has on its menu one of the region's outstanding
desserts, the Lava Cake. But even that item has lost some of its charm on our last
visit. The staff remains pleasant and the service is still good.
Peohe's has a terrific view of downtown San Diego from Coronado. The staff did some really nice touches for our 30th anniversary with a hand signed card from quite a few staff & personalized menu. The coconut shrimp are worth trying as either appetizer or entree. Pass on the tableside Manhattan – not worth the cost.
I made a note that it was our anniversary and the staff wrote us a nice card and our menu's also documented our special occasion. My wife loved it. Thank you very much to the staff for making it an extra special occasion
Always a delight to dine here. Get the chocolate lava cake for dessert! We had a
Amazing place to dine with family. Everyone was so welcoming from the hostess to our server! We all literally ordered what our server recommended and loved each dish! The Chilean sea bass (pictured) is so buttery and tasty! The kid friendly menu was awesome. My 7 yr old nephew enjoyed his 7oz prime rib (also pictured)Definitely coming back for a date with the hubby!
When my cousin said she wanted to treat us to dinner, we thought of Peohe’s. We had not eaten there in fifteen years. When we arrived we were impressed by the new interior decoration. We were seated in a booth far away from the window and adjacent to a very noisy wedding reception. We asked to be moved and the waitperson located a quiet table nearer the window. We ordered the farmers market salad, the macadamia crusted mahi-mahi and the chocolate lava cake. The salad was quite good with a nice light dressing. The mahi-mahi was a big disappointment. Everything on the plate was an unappetizing off white color. The white rice with the creamy sauce was nothing like the halibut dish of years ago. The preparation was similar but the presentation lacked the contrast of the brown rice, the asparagus and the small purple orchid I remembered. The dish was $41 and it looked dreadful on the plate. The lava cake was over cooked so there was no lava. It was a disappointment as well.
We will not be going back. The food was overpriced and unappealing.
We celebrated our 34th anniversary on Saturday night. A friend suggested we make a reservation. We were NOT disappointed. It was a great place and the food and service were excellent.
the food, service and view were very good, but it was overpriced. probably will not return often due to value.
