Great place to eat. Nice views. Well layed out design. Highly recommend the Coconut shrip as an appetizer and the Blue cheese burger. Awesome place. Going back tomorrow.
The Happy Anniversary card was a nice touch, service was outstanding, and food fantastic!
We’ve been going to Peohe’s for a few years, every time the food has gone down hill, but this last time was the worst!
My mother and I ordered the black cod, which was very under cooked, we told the server, he took our plates and brought back the same plate with the part of the uneaten fish back to us, it was just warmed up. Most restaurants would bring a fresh plate of food, but not Peohe’s. My husband ordered scallops which was so SALTY, he couldn’t finish his meal.
All in all, we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.
Amazing experience would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Would recommend for company business parties and for a date.
The shrimp dish was dry with noddle. But the ginger shrimp dish was excellent.
Service, we thought, we were ignored.
As always, the food and ambience are wonderful at this restaurant. However, they continue tobe under manned with the wait staff. Our waiter worked extremely hard, but he just had too many tables to serve. It took almost 30 minutes before we got our drinks. The edamame is a huge serving and is only $5.50. My wife and I shared two rolls of sushi which were also delightful. The food and setting is absolutely gorgeous, but be ready for slow service.
32nd Anniversary dinner. Requested window table in advance but didn’t get it.
The bacon burger was great, as well as the truffles pasta with shrimp. Nice decor. We sat outside and enjoyed the great view of S.D.
Always GREAT here for brunch, lunch and dinner. The food is always on point. Great service.
Overall, I will reluctantly recommend. I am going to say everyone has a bad day. Service was good and we had a great table even if we were sharing next to the only others out on the patio and it happened to be a party of 2 elderly couples speaking loudly. (We came on recommendation for our 4th Anniversary). The calamari was good. My beet, arugala, goat cheese salad was marginal and missing the goat cheese. When I brought to attention, the waiter bought me a small bowl with 5 FRIED balls of goat cheese (wth?), and offered a seafood "bisque" to make up for the error. That was not a bisque and tasted light day old fish soup. Inedible. My pasta with truffle and shrimp dish was marginal with just shy of over cooked shrimp. Shavings of parmesan were like bark shavings; too thick and no flavor. My guy tried to play safe with the fish and chips. Portion was actually too large and way too much breading. He LOVES fish/seafood (NOLA man). He didn't complain, but barely ate 1/2 of his 3 pieces. The service was good, location and atmosphere somewhat made up for food disappointment. Pricing would be good if chef lived up to level of menu. I dug the funky decor and we sat over the water. Probably won't return anytime soon.
My favorite restaurant but hadn’t been there in 30 years. But it hasn’t lost a beat, just lost some of the waterways and Koi that ran through the restaurant. I recommend it all the time to people who plan on visiting San Diego and certainly will continue recommending it. It is a bit pricey though but worth it for a special occasion. Strongly recommend the sea bass. Many of us at the table ordered it and it was unanimous that it was the best any of us had ever had.
They did reconfirmed call 2days before reservation day
but we’ve got 40min waiting without any excuses
Considering it was thanksgiving night, everything was okay. I expected a little more service at the table but it was busy on a holiday. It would be a nice touch if your servers used names on reservations!
I would recommend the menu but not the Thanksgiving dinner. It was very mediocre, I was expecting better food. Service was a bit slow but it was very busy.
2 managers came and check on us throughout our dinner!!
Felt so comfortable
Delightful and exceptional. Received a confirmation call a few days prior and was informed of need to get there early in order to find parking. That was good advice. We were early, yet were seated right away. The view was beautiful. The ambiance was a perfect mix of good energy and festive. The food was delightful. Thank you!
Excellent restaurant featuring fresh seafood, but with lots of other items to choose from as well
Way overpriced. Turkey dinner more than fish and filet mignon?? And extra for a side of potatoes and pie? Shameful. It was much more affordable and enjoyable 5 years ago, but the word must have gotten out! Food was good but not outstanding. We won't be back next Thanksgiving. But I did appreciate not having to cook and clean up, so thank you! 👍
Another great holiday meal with friendly service, great food and a fantastic view.
Thanksgiving was a huge disappointment. They had not indicated an "abbreviated" menu: transaction: everything we ordered they weren't serving that day! Instead of printing up this "abbreviated" menu they handed us the regular paper menus and kept saying, "nope".
Peohe's never disappoints! Service, food, ambiance and the most awesome views! We will be back for New Years Eve. Maureen was a fantastic server. Couldn't be more pleased with her.
Went the day before Thanksgiving and as expected not many people there. That was nice since it was quiet. I was surprised they seated us on the patio when the whole inside was empty. It was very cold outside but they had heaters. It was hard to get comfortable for the party. One person hot who was sitting under it and another cold who was opposite side of the table. Just ask for table inside and you will enjoy your meal. The food was delicious. Seafood salads were great. Swordfish was also wonderful with a tasty mango sauce on top. Server was excellent!
My wife had the swordfish and and I had the new york strip.
Both were great
We had amazing time!!!! Love it!!! Will come back very soon!
beautiful location - we have come here for many years - about once a year. some menu changes. food was excellent quality but arrived cool - not hot. this was disappointing because the food was otherwise excellent. wine and drink selection excellent. great spot.
Rachel our Hostess was awesome! Great Service, Great Food, Great Ambiance for a quiet evening.
Absolute perfect experience from beginning to end. Celebrating a friend's birthday here made her feel so special & the personalization of her name on her menu with birthday wishes was sheer delight. The wine selection was good, food very good, staff - EXCELLENT!! Dining by the water's edge, with the windows open just enough to feel the fresh air but not too much that you'd need a sweater. Thank you Peohe staff!
Fantastic view. Waiters friendly and professional. Food bad to mediocre : soggy salad, tuna tough, rice Pre/overcooked. Too expensive just for the view, as food quality poor
i've eaten here many times and i have to recommend the simpler the fare, the better the dining experience. It was beautifully quiet, so I'll try to come on a Monday. Our server was what I like: efficient, unobtrusive, and attentive. (Some servers are too chatty.)
I suggest you have a tea menu with good high tea food selections. It would give options to brunch.
We love having Miguel and Amanda as our servers. They help us to have an enjoyable time as they provide impeccable service!
Great food great service. Met the new general manager...very enthusiastic and I am sure he will continue to do a great job.
Eggs Benedict were cold and didn’t fix problem. Finally after my dining partner was finished the manager came to the table and removed my order from the bill. Awful experience.
We were made to wait 15 minutes for our 6:15 reservation. Once seated and the waiter finally came by we ordered apps a spinach salad and a spring roll.. They took an additional 20 minutes to arrive. I don’t blame the waiter. It was the Kitchen. Suddenly, our leisurely dinner before a 8:00 show at Lamb’s players was rushed to the point that we didn’t have time to wait for the promised birthday dessert for my wife. Her scallops and shrimp were very tasty my sea bass was dismal. Tasted freezer burnt to tell you the truth. Lovely spot, gracious host but something went wrong in the kitchen tonight.
We celebrated a special birthday at Peohe's and truly enjoyed the experience. Service, food and the location was except.
The entire dining experience was wonderful! The menu selections did not disappoint and the level of attentive service was excellent.
Crab stuffed shrimp was old and dry, not enough sauce. Ashame a nice place can’t put out a good dish. Management is poor and not friendly. Staff is good in most cases.
Excellent service, outstanding view and the food was fabulous. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is looking for a great eating experience.
The overall experience was good and the service was a little slow due to being a popular restaurant.
We have been to Peohe’s many times. The server recognized us. We thought that would have made a difference. The restaurant was not crowded (hostess told us it was “slow”) however it took a long time for everything and no attention to detail.
