   the food was not up to expectation really but compared with alternative venues best of a poor bunch.

   The lunch had been booked to meet up with a friend. The staff were very attentive and pre-meal we were allowed to view the menu and pre-order the food, whilst we chatted within the bar area. We were called to the table and the service was very professional and quick, with the added incentive that the waitress also took a drinks order. I chose the gammon and my friend the fish, but regretfully both meals were tepid and my friend had to send the peas to be re-heated as they were very cold. The waitress replaced the items, but the size of the chips made them unpalatable, as they did not seem to be thoroughly cooked. I am appreciative that there were wedding preparations ongoing however we (and a second couple) were the only ones within the restaurant The staff were very professional, but the meal was disappointing - my friend ordered a sweet as extra as she remained hungry - the sweet was fantastic. I will return to dine at some point, however as a first impression it was not the best way to spend an afternoon, yours

   Lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with my mum and sisters. The service was brilliant and there was more than enough food and tea and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend!

   The steak was amazing the beat I’ve had, I’ve eaten in some nice restaurants around the world and but this place really did do amazing steak thank you and the staff are really nice definitely would come back thank you for such a lovely time

   We had a lovely meal - the set menu was very reasonable, we both enjoyed three courses and coffee. Our first drinks order was slightly wrong, but amended when I queried it, and we were brought a glass of wine intended for the table next to us. Unfortunately, these appeared on our bill, but the member of staff apologised for this and issued a refund. The music was a touch loud and not necessarily in-keeping with the general atmosphere - Elton John and some soft country-rock didn't quite fit the opulent interior. Overall, we would recommend this restaurant and have done so to several people since visiting.

   We are frequent diners in the Restaurant and that is probably why we are getting a bit fed up with the lunch menu. The choice is limited and it never changes. Last year we had the Heroes menu and that changed each week for lunch so that was great. The food is always excellent but a bit more variety would not go a miss.

    The Penventon is a lovely place, the service and food are fantastic. I would highly recommend.
