Horrible, from the food to the service to everything. Never coming back here. Waste of money.
The ambiance of this restaurant is so nice! Right on the water looking straight over to Manhattan. Unfortunately the food and service did not match the price paid. The food and drink price makes you think this is a 4 star restaurant. Wrong. The food was “meh” and not much for the price. The service was also all over the place. It took 30 minutes for us to get water to our table. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this rooftop over others.
Service took an extremely long time, 20 minutes to get two simple glasses of wine, and around 25 minutes to just get the check. I had to ask for the check three times from separate people. The food was moderate and the views were incredible.
SECOUND TIME A P808 AND IT WAS AMAZING ... BUT I WISH THEY WOULD ADD TO THE MENU GREAT FOOD BUT THE MENU IS THE SAME FROM ABOUT A YEAR AGO DONT THE CHEFS GET BORED MAKING THE SAME ANGRY LOBSTER DISH .
HOPEFULLY THE NEXT TIME I COME BACK IT WILL BE CHANGED UP
I would not recommend this restaurant. The food was not good, the food temperature was not good. We waited for our table and had a hrs time to her someone to take our drink order. Would not go back
Scrumptious food, great atmosphere, perfect roof top restaurant ! Highly recommend
This was not my first time but the first time of my mom who was celebrating her birthday. I had three issues which made me give a not so great review in a usually great spot. Thursday night is slow and the place was not crowded but:
1) The three entrees came out in waves about 5-10 minutes apart
2) The hostess was not at the desk so someone came to help her. I told him I had an open table reservation but it was never acknowledged. I called the restaurant the following day and spoke with the hostess who said it was too late to change it in their system but she would email me something but that never happened.
3) They didn’t bring my mom something to acknowledge her birthday. It’s customary to give someone a dessert at least but there was nothing.
Started Off bad with no acknowledgement of the birthday girl, took forever to get water, and apps however once a meeting with the Manager took place about these issues it was smooth sailing from there.
Overall great time will be back
This was my first time visiting and it was a pleasant experience. We were initially seated in the back by an exit door which was extremely cold but requested to be moved and were accommodated. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was great. The only issue is that I made a reservation for Penthouse 808 which gave a bonus 1,000 points on Open Table due to the date and time but was only credited 100 points.
Had a wonderful experience. Food was great service was good just wasn't happy that I had to wait about 15 mins to be seated even when I had reservations and there was tables open. Great view of the city, 59 st bridge, diverse crowd. Looking forward to go back!
The place has gotten chic and gone down hill. Now different entrance, almost like a club/ restaurant. The food was bad. I had the udon noodles with lobster and it was just a pile of salt. The waiter was annoying as hell. Constantly interrupting and almost pushy, like he wanted a quicker turn around. My friend ordered sushi and it was the blandness thing ever, like they made it the day before. The pupu platter was not worth the price. Thank goodness they had a view to make up for it
We asked for a table at the window but didn`t get it. Reason not really clear. Table were available. We came for the view but didn`t get it.
I’ve been here twice, and I love the view and the ambiance.
I was very impress with the ambiance and the food. I also enjoy the fact that we didn’t have to leave after dinner. We were able to stay for the club. Special shout out to the DJs. I would recommend
Pennhouse 808. Also I would definitely visit it again.
This place is overpriced and very loud- it’s more of a club than restaurant.
They 1$ charge for tap water which is insane. The view is great but def not worth he price.
Way too loud to have a conversation and service was poor. Host was very flirty and provocative with couples. Food was fair but could’ve been better or in larger portions. High priced for a minimum job.
We came here for our anniversary and the wait staff, food, drinks and atmosphere was great, ESPECIALLY the view. Our waiter (forgot his name) tall, curly hair, glasses fellow was REALLY REALLY professional and made our dinner date a experience of a lifetime. It was our first time and off the bat he introduced us to the menu and famous drinks, and he knew exactly what he was talking about, we loved his vibe and confidence. I would definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Honestly for the price of the food it wasn't that great, I thought the bar and the desserts were pretty great though
Consistently outstanding food and cocktails, generous portions, friendly unrushed service, great happy hour at the bar, and spectacular views of NYC and the 59th Street Bridge. One of our favorite spots, and well worth the short subway ride in from Manhattan!
Had a great time plus the food was amazing. Thank you
Service wasn’t good, just one person attended to te clients.. take to long to get our food on time and synchronized and i wait 15’to get my bill.... the area was to cool with no heater alternative because the windows .
Korean steak dish was excellent. Angry Lobster needs some lobster forks to dig out all meat. Apps were good, service attentive. Saturday night so DJ was in the house. Loud but music was great.
We were seated fairly timely the ambiance was nice with the water in the background however not to visible due to the plastic covering. The waitress was friendly but a bit slow with our drinks which arrived quite a bit of time after our food. The food was great however the portions a bit small. I am not sure I will be back in the winter but summer time for sure
Great place - booked a reservation for 5pm on a Sunday and had no issue with parking on the street. We went for my moms retirement celebration and had a great time. It’s still the winter so we didn’t get to enjoy the view like it’s meant to be enjoyed but it still wasn’t bad. The part that was closed off had a little draft so we asked to be moved from our assigned table to one of the booths - they accommodated us with no issue.
At this time, the place had just opened so it was quiet, almost like we had the place to ourselves. Service was professional and food came pretty quick. Price wise, I felt the quality for some of the dishes didn’t match the price but don’t get it twisted- that food was still on point! I personally don’t have any complaints about this spot.
Always a great time with that special person
Loud and cold place. View is nice. Prices are high. Not comfy.
The food was great/creative and the atmosphere was amazing! Staff was lovely and they were very kid friendly. I would definitely recommend and I will be revisiting soon. The menu is a little pricey but all worth it in the end. Amazing location.
I was referred by a friend so I decided to save this place for an occasion dinner. I have to say I was not disappointed. I arrived 10 min before my 7:45 reservation and was seated within minutes. It was a Saturday night so it was busy but didn't feel crowded. Once seated the the view was amazing. The music playing set a good vibe. Felt like a night out and not just a nice dinner. The drinks were good. Food was great. The staff and server were attentive and friendly. We spent a little under 3 hrs in total and never felt rushed (of course drinks kept being ordered). The food is a little pricey but good. I was very pleased and look forward to going again.
It was pretty empty since it was a rainy Thursday night, which we were fine with. They sat us against the window and the seating was very weird - there was seating for 4 but the table was for 2 - and we couldn’t sit in the middle because of the cushions so we had to move the table to one side. We also couldn’t sit together on one side because of the table size - which would have been nice so we could both enjoy the view. The dumplings were ok - the texture was there but they stuck to the bamboo tray and weren’t very flavorful. The Kani salad was about the same you’d get from any good sushi spot. I had the Bouillabaisse which was very flavorful but lacking in seafood (especially compared to the amount of rice they gave). The presentation was Insta worthy if you are into that sort of thing. My wife has the pork belly which, for someone who normally does not complain about the fat, had WAY too much fat. I will say it was a huge portion but a large chunk of it was inedible as the fat hadn’t rendered properly. My wife had a deconstructed cheesecake that was not on the menu yet. It was a good effort and just needed some refining on the fruit - otherwise a successful test dish. He really should have made it compliments of the chef for being test subjects and since it was very obvious my wife didn’t enjoy her entree. I had a coconut molten lava chocolate cake that had no lava. The way it read on the menu you expected the lava to be a mixture of coconut and chocolate oozing out when you cut into the cake. Instead there was a few strips of shredded coconut in the middle of the dry chocolate cake - no lava. We did get to watch someone propose to their girlfriend in an elaborate setup, so that was nice. Also, since we were sitting against the window it did get drafty as the night went on. Good but not great - especially not for the price.
It was lovely evening with my best friend for her bday. It was quite empty on a Sunday night and that’s the way i like the environment to be
It was snowing on the day we went, and their ceiling heaters werent doing much justice so it was still chilly. The heaters caused some condensation on the ceiling as well which caused it to drip on me and my food. The waiters moved us right away. They had a dj playing music that was a little too loud but was tolerable. Aside from the condensation problem the food was fantastic and the service was great. Just didnt have good luck that night , would go again though
Amazing food, great service, and stunning views.
Comparing to our last visit in the summer, the restaurants as much colder in the winter (especially the seats next to the window). The scene was still fabulous despite the roof and window covers. Otherwise, the service was wonderful. We used the lobster bake Groupon, and the food was wonderful.
Second time at restaurant food is interesting sushi is fresh but views are the best in Queens...
Service was very friendly and food was good but my only concern was the slow service. It took about 30 mins for the waiter to take our order. The first course came in pretty quick, but the main course and dessert took forever.
I visited this place last year on 14th Feb as well, and that was a great experience with live music and all, but this time there was no live music, which didnt bother us, but the slow service was killer. It took 2 hours from the time we got seated (10pm)to the time I got ready to leave (12am). There were many empty tables so a busy night could not be brought up as an excuse.
I thought it was very expensive for a little bit of food. On Valentine’s Day.
This restaurant was amazing. The view was spectacular. The service was wonderful and everything about dining here was a great experience. Definitely had a night to remember!
Bad service, hidden charges, non responsive wait staff
