View was amazing as we enjoyed drinks and meal
Brought the wrong plate out. Waitress was nice but didn’t seem knowledgeable about place. Small portions and pricey. But beautiful space and scenery.
Lovely ambience! Would definitely go back. Food was wonderful. The drinks were good. Comfortable temperature on the rooftoop. Date night or night out with family is good there. Nice view also.
Awful service, waited a long time to be seated even with reservations. Once we got our table there was very little attention to us and numerous times we had to find help ourselves. Ordered a sushi platter and soy sauce was only brought after we requested it, which itself took additional time. The view is fantastic but the service makes me not want to revisit.
We had a good time, however one of us never got our meal. The server said someone in the kitchen forgot. Otherwise we enjoyed it.
party of 5 and one of the guess order a shrimp entrée that never came.
Was skeptical at first. "Regarding Previous Postings". We Stood around 20 mn waiting to be Seated .Ahead of 10 different guest sat before Us.
However our Waitress was EXCELLENT, Very Attentive.
Had a great experience! would definitely visit again
I was irritated in the beggining because a male bartender acknowledged right in front of me that there was one minute left for happy hour and preceded to take the drink menu from me without taking my drink order. Other than that I had a wonderful time and the service was excellent. So was the food and the views.
Place seems nice. They have bottle service so the potential to really turn up and party is there. The music was a little anecdotal as they had a prom upstairs the day i was there so the music was young hip hop/trap which i like to party too. However, i don't expect that to be the norm so i'm not sure what their regular music is like. food is good value. not really a place to dance however so if you're going to that this maybe isn't the place.
We got right in to be seated. Ordered food and it was good service was not bad but not attentive enough for the price and type of environment they are trying to make this restaurant
Views were great, food was okay, and the service was awful. Would not recommend to anyone for dinner but would be worth it for drinks only.
Service was poor : had to ask twice for every (except for the check!). Also, they can't serve appetizer then main course. if you order small plate and main course, what come first out of the kitchen will be serve and we ended up having the hot dish before the sushi.
The kitchen ran out of pineapple rice. It took forever to get drinks and the food. The food tasted horrible and the desert. The service was very slow. The music was great and the view.
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 4 year anniversary. We heard mixed reviews about penthouse 808 but we decided to try it out anyway. We made reservations 2 months in advance only to find out that we had a table without a view. I had called before heading over a week in advance if we can sit by the edge, where the views were, to have a romantic anniversary experience. Whoever I spoke to said it shouldn’t be a problem. When we arrived, the host tried to accommodate us but couldn’t. There was an empty table for two by the glass, which we wanted. He said the table he gave us was the best he could do. We tried to make the best of the night and took the table in the middle. During our meal we observed that the table we wanted remained unoccupied for almost 2 hours. Quite frankly we were annoyed at this point. Our waitress Vicky was very personable and friendly. At the end we wanted an order of dumplings. We waited almost 35-45 mins waiting for the dumplings only to find out that the order was never placed. The sushi we had was good but the communication within the staff is terrible. Although Vicky was very sweet and apologetic, we just requested for our check and we left. The food was great but I don’t think I’ll be recommending this place for special occasions.
restaurant overlooks the East River ,therefor you have a view of Manhattan at the Queensboro Bridge. There sushi is fresh and prepared nicely. there is a DJ and piped music so it is not the place to go for a quiet meal
I really wanted this place to be great but its just terrible. They desperately need improvement in almost every area of the restaurant. The menu is uninspired and tastes like poorly microwaved asian fusion from Trader Joe's. I wouldn't mind paying their prices but they have rubbery chicken, mushy / slimy rice, overcooked wings and warm appetizers. The slider buns weren't toasted, and its just this type of complete lack of attention to details that keeps this place from reaching its potential. The staff is really poorly trained, (They are really nice and polite) but again just don't understand any basic service industry practices. They need to hire a consultant and get a complete management and menu overhaul. They are doing themselves a disservice as this place has so much potential.
i wanna sat near the view table the lady said there‘re gona party group here. after 3 hour i left . no goup use those any table yet. I felt not happy at all
From the valet and hostess to the server. ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I called an Hour in advance to make sure they were valeting when i got There valet refused to valet me because i wasnt Staying in the hotel then charged me double to park my truck which the porter probably pocketed. We checked in with the hostess and waited a half hour to be seated when there were 30 open tables. I waited 20 minutes for a server to approach us then another half hour wait for anything we asked for. Napkins took 30 minutes, I asked for a soda we waited another 30 minutes. I was so fed up I asked for boxes and the check. The table next to us got the same service we did. Place is a joke. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING ON THE AMOUNT OF TIME. Beware
I went here for my 21st birthday and was extremely disappointed! During dinner, I had to keep repeating myself to the waitress asking for sauce and an additional menu. I had to ask 3x before she actually remembered. Then we went downstairs to the lounge, the staff who provided bottle service was extremely rude and had a nasty attitude. We had to wait 1 hour before getting seated for bottle service, then after being seated they brought the wrong alcohol to our table. We then waited an additional 30 minutes for them to bring the correct alcohol to our table. Extremely disorganized setting. This place is overrrated. Do not waste your time nor money here, not worth it whatsoever. Extremely disappointing!!!
The service here is horrible fr honestly so expensive for no reason
After waiting over 40 mins for a pitcher of red sangria and asking 3x where were our drinks. They charged $68 for pitcher of mostly Ice and barely 4 glasses -2rounds of drinks for me and my date. Which equaled about $18 for a pineapple barely alcoholic drink calls pacific something which I did not order. Great views and that’s IT! Everything else will annoy you. They screwed up our dinners No chicken for my dates Thai dish. Mid Convo rudely interrupters by our waitress 2x. Amateur hour at best sry Ravel I can do better I won’t be returning
The view is amazing, but the food is horrible. Really small portions for such a crazy price. The food isnt even worth it. I would go back for the view but definitely not the food.
I'm not sure if it was very quiet because of the date and time we were there, but the place was empty and they even had live music! We had excellent service, and the food was delicious but definitely overpriced (16-20 for a roll of sushi!). Overall, I would go back for the incredible outdoor space and ambiance
Good service, great food the view is magnificent I would definitely recommend this place and visit again.
We have been here numerous times over the years. First I would like to say that if you want a view (after sundown) that is unmatched, bring your camera (or smartphone). However, the prices are ridiculous (because of the view, no doubt) and the portions are very small for the money. Drinks at the bar were also very expensive (3 wines and one martini). Bar tab before dinner was $60 with the tip. I know they have a happy hour during the week before 7pm but most are probably showing up after that.
Here's the killer. They asked if we wanted tap water or something else. We had drinks already so tap was fine. When I get the check, there's a $4.00 charge for 4 glasses of Queens tap water. WHAT?? BTW, it's not the $4. How about a heads up? I felt it was sneaky and they took it off the bill anyway. It was just a slimy way to collect $4 and if I didn't catch it, they would have won. However, we will not be returning. That's too bad too because we really like the view but we'll just have a less expensive dinner on Vernon and walk over to the park to get the view.
See ya 808.
Took a long time to receive our sushi order. But manager was great at providing a friendly Enviorment.
So disappointing. The entrees for two are barely enough for one & are mediocre in taste. They are a Meatpacking District wannabe. Eat at Applebee's & save your money for a Vegas experience.
When we were first seated it took about 20 minutes before we got a menu and gave our drink order. I ordered a blue moon which was a warm and my girlfriend got a red wine which she said was hot when it should be chilled. We ordered the rib-eye for two which was just under $80 and it had very little edible meat on it. They gave us this huge piece of burnt bone that was bigger then the steak itself. When we said something to the server he gave us attitude and reluctantly offered to give us a complimentary desert. The complimentary desert was a small piece of pound cake that you get at the supermarket with whipped cream on it and a scoop of chocolate ice cream. The view is absolutely beautiful and the restaurant looks really nice but it is definitely a much better place to grab some drinks at the bar instead of paying for a way overpriced steak that was honestly horrible. Also to top it off they charged us for the water when we didn’t even drink any and had no idea they did that until we got the bill. I would never eat here again or recommend this place to anyone for dinner. Trust me I know what I’m talking about because I eat out all the time and I’m really easy to please and very rarely leave bad reviews. With a view like that Penthouse 808 I highly recommend you put more effort into better quality food and service because if the chef ate the steak I had he would have to be completely clueless to think it was acceptable for any amount of money nevermind almost $80!
Inattentive server. Greasy samurai fries. Seated way too close to other people for no good reason. Not a good time.
Great service, delicious food, beautiful atmosphere!
I had a really bad experience at this place, I went there for the first time to celebrate a Birthday and I ended up embarrassing myself with my partner. First let me start by saying that we had to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to stop by and greet us, then another 5 minutes to take our drinks order, another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrived and finally after all this time waiting for the waiter with the Name David by the way to take our food order, we got our delicious dragonfire appetizer and for the Main course we had the wild salmon and the delicious Angry Lobster. The food arrived on time and had an excellent taste, After we finished our appetizer we had to wave to someone to come and clean the table, same for second round of drinks, since there was no way for the waiter to be found, and then when we got our main course we didn't have clean silverware and we had to asked for utensils so we can eat the lobster. To bad is a really good atmosphere for such a really bad service.
Great view and attentive staff. Enjoyed our drinks and delicious meal!
It was great my drink needed more alcohol lol but it was great
We were a party of 4 for Mother's Day. Nice Jazz band, but that is the only positive. Service was awful. Took 15 minutes to bring our wine and take our order. We were warned that food would arrive whenever ready and possibly not everyone's at once. No problem with that except that one of the plate that arrived first had probably been ready for quite some time before it arrived almost cold and then my wife waited another 20 minutes for her entree!!!!!
It was my wife's birthday and they really made the whole night a memorable experience. I appreciated their hospitality and great service. Will definitely be recommending this restaurant and will be returning myself,
We were given a wobbly table which was quickly corrected. The DJ of the night Tommy Bons was great. The environment was beautiful.
The place, the view was awesome, the drinks were too expensive, Service was awesome, sushi was very good, fresh, staffs very attentive, very professional. I would do it again, next time the roof top.
I've been here several times and also the same issue, tables are unstable, rocking spilling water. Ordered Coke, came 2x flat which I didn't care for but paid for it.
My experience was good, service was great and the view amazing
