Pennsylvania 6 (PE6) brings Contemporary American Cuisine and Raw Bar to Center City’s Midtown Village. Located at 114 South 12th Street, guests dine in a post-prohibition style restaurant featuring dark wooden accents, plush-red banquet seating, white marble-topped tables and bar with extensive beer and cocktail list. Executive Chef Mark Plessis, designs contemporary American dishes with specialties including Daily Fresh East and West Coast Oysters, Skillet Fried Shishito Peppers and Roasted Bone Marrow, with garlic-herb crust and red onion jam and a “luge” option – two ounces of Woodford Reserve to drink as it is poured down the hollowed bone. Pennsylvania 6 provides both great food and great cocktails in a lively, inviting atmosphere.

I went in for Mother's Day. They had a special menu for brunch which according to their website was over before my reservation (which unfortunately it wasn't). Immediately the waiter said they were out of 4 items from the menu and we couldn't order from their regular menu. Everything took forever to come out (the restaurant was less than half full) and the waiter was inattentive. The regular menu looks great but this was a bad experience.

I think we may have been expecting more than what we got which is why we were let down. My wife and I took our Moms to PA 6 for Mother's Day brunch. They had a special menu which was nice, they gave the Mom's flowers which was nice, and the food was okay. The restaurant is a little more beat up than I would have thought. The 2nd floor needs some TLC, stains on the walls and pictures, paint chipping everywhere, some strange black marks coming from their speaker area (possible mold). Our waiter was not very friendly or personable. He never said Happy Mother's Day once. It was me with 3 Moms so it was kind of obvious. The food was pretty good and the value was fair. Service and interior are the main reasons for this review. We almost booked this restaurant for our wedding rehearsal dinner 2 years ago, and this was my first time at PA 6. I am very happy that we didn't have our event here. I would not go back to PA 6 or refer friends/family to the restaurant.

Delicious specials. Pork collar is definitely a must-try. Crabcakes were dry and forgettable. However, the ambiance is fantastic and the food is authentically American.

Good food and drinks. Cool fun atmosphere. Had some appetizers and entrees. Love the sparkler attached to a drink or dessert for a special occasion. Would definitely go back!!

Girlfriend and I had a great meal here. I had never been before, she had been for drinks and was ever so slightly dubious about their dinner fare, but we were both pleasantly surprised. Everything was great! The daily specials were very interesting and combined with the menu items, making a choice was difficult. Only thing to watch out for is that the price for a dozen fresh oysters is STEEP! (a little over $50 for a dozen).

The food was good - had steak and frites and chicken with mash potato were both cooked/seasoned well. Only real negative was the noise level. Didn't know there was a live DJ and the music was soooo loud we couldn't hear ourselves and not being in the mindset for loud we ate and left. I also thought it was a bistro but it was more like a pub; however, it was St. Patrick's Day so maybe everyone was celebrating.

Went here for brunch to celebrate a friend's engagement. The brunch was fantastic and they do $18 bottles on champagne with great mixers. Will definitely be back!

Had dinner with friend on a Wednesday night. Restaurant is cool and the food was really good. Service was a little lacking considering that the place was fairly empty with only 2 or 3 other tables eating, but overall was a positive experience.
