Peli Peli - Vintage Park Ratings and Reviews
The food at Peli Peli is delicious. If you like your food impeccably seasoned without over reliance on salt and pepper, you will be pleased. The ambiance is excellent for friendly gatherings, but not desirable for quiet intimate discussions. You are seated quite close to your neighbors and the atmosphere is lively.
Wonderful experience - one of our favorite date night/special occasion restaurants. We were seated in a corner booth and insulated from some of the noise. Appetizer (bacon wrapped chicken) was delicious but unfortunately luke warm. Entrees (steak espetada and filet hugenot) were perfect. I enjoy that they are efficient but do not rush you. Reservations are a must. Try the dessert sampler - or just go for the sticky toffee pudding.
Two words: brussel sprouts! I've eaten here many times, but last night was the fist time I had the brussel sprouts. They were so good!! Our server, Sebastian, was passionate about the food (as am I), and he was great. I got the Huguenot filet (med rare- perfection!), brussel sprouts, and roasted potatoes. Plus- sticky toffee pudding for dessert always makes a great night greater! Everything was wonderful!
Valentines dinner. I had the 8 oz filet, didn’t plan on eating it all but it was just too good. Chose the Diane sauce because I like mushrooms- it was perfect. My Valentine had the sea bass which he enjoyed. The brussel sprouts are as good as they say. We ordered the chocolate mousse cake to go-delish! The ambience was very nice and our waiter attentive and professional. The prices make this a special occasion restaurant for us and we would go back.
We went for Valentine's Day. We had made a reservation and, when we arrived, we were immediately seated. However, instead of seating us in the restaurant they walked us outside, around the corner, and down the block to some other space.
It was clear they had tried to make it look nice, but it had an overflow tent kind of feel and was very loud. We asked to be re-seated. At first, the waiter we spoke to was very rude about it, but we explained that part of why we picked this restaurant for V-Day was the ambiance and this room was nothing like the actual restaurant we had expected when we booked our reservation weeks in advance. He went to get a manager and the manager was very gracious about it and immediately re-seated us in the main restaurant.
The rest of the evening was great. Our new waiter was very attentive. The food was wonderful, and the main restaurant is beautiful and much quieter than the overflow room.
I definitely do recommend Peli Peli for special occasions (order the brussel sprouts) because the food is amazing, but I will probably note in the future that I would like to be seated in the main restaurant.
We are frequent customers and usually enjoy our dining experience at Peli Peli very much. However, we did not like the special room we were seated in. Going outside to get to it was a little strange. Also the band/singer noise level was way too loud for such a small room. We will ask to be seated in the main dining room from now on.
We have been to Peli Peli at the Vintage several times and we are never disappointed in the quality of food, ambiance, and service. A wonderful time to tell my wife of 45 years of marriage that she is special, and I am a blessed mine to have her as my soul mate.
I'd heard good things about this place for years. Decided to try it out as opposed to going to a nice steakhouse. Bad idea. The first table they showed us to was the last table in the corner of a closed off room which was completely empty. We asked for a different table and were led to a place on their main floor. There were plenty of open tables, so I'm not sure why they tried to put Baby in the corner. The service was mediocre; I've had way better service at far less spendy restaurants. The menus we were presented were not the same menus posted online; the entree selection was limited to 9 items. I ordered the espetada, dish that is supposed to be their specialty, and requested my steak medium rare. The beef I was served was cooked way under that My companion ordered chicken curry; his dish was not only sorely lacking in the presence of curry flavor; it was also cold. Our dishes came from the kitchen in record time; I'm guessing that was because the chicken had already been sitting and the beef wasn't cooked long enough. Just not impressed with anything about this place... definitely will not return or recommend.
We visited Peli Peli (which is one of our favorite restaurants) for a friend's birthday. Although I let the restaurant know ahead of time it was our friend's birthday and asked if they did anything special, they didn't acknowledge this at any time during our visit. I'm sure our friend is happy they didn't but I was hoping. Also - if you haven't been there in a while, the happy hour extends throughout the restaurant but the selection is more limited and all prices have increased. Still worth it in the end. This is a great restaurant for a special night, occasion, or just a nice date night. I do highly recommend this restaurant! We'll be back.
Dinner was great! Happy hour is also great option if you can get there in time. The boboties were delicious as always and I actually really enjoyed the brussel sprouts along with the espetada. I would definitely recommend the chocolate mousse cake! Peter was our server and he was so patient with or group of girls. Will be back!
