Food was delicious. Our server was fantastic.
Our waitress Emily was fantastic! The food and drinks were delicious. We wish the homemade cheesecake would come back to the menu!!
Love Peli Peli! This is one of our all-time favorite places to eat. Was a little disappointed that they didn't ask what the occasion was, as usual. I did put birthday when I made reservations, but it was never mentioned at all during the meal. We could have mentioned it, but decided not to.
Great creative food, ambience, wine and beers. We enjoy they lamb chops and Esoetada
Husband birthday celebration
Delicious and great service
Great red snapper and wonderful service. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to meet someone for the first time, or a subsequent date, or a special occasion. Wonderful dining experience.
Peli-Peli is our favorite restaurant by far. The food is amazing and just so fun to eat. They also have the most amazing service. Best trained staff who all come by at one time or another to take care of the customer.
Great! Service and food was excellent
Peli Peli really delivered for our eclectic party of 8 on Easter Sunday. At many nice restaurants, holidays and a larger party are a losing combination. Not at Peli Peli this past Sunday. The bartender, our waiter (Jeremy) and the kitchen all brought their A game for our special dine. Our experience started with us meeting up at the bar. Everyone arrived all at once, and the bartender had our drinks in our hands in no time. I was in a light colored dress and high heels, and I ordered a bottle of red wine. I thought that more people in the group that I was hosting would choose red wine. Instead, I was the only one that chose wine for our pre-meal drink. The bartender, who got all of our drinks out in no time, offered to take my wine to my table, which I definitely appreciated. Once seated at our table, Jeremy took great care of us. He had multiple large tables, and he had no problem at all keeping up with it all. His disposition was perfect for our group. My favorite was when he told one of my guests who ordered the waffles and schnitzel that it is recommended to squish it all together and eat it like a sandwich. One has to see the stack of this entree to appreciate the humor in this. All of our food was exceptional. If you go for brunch with a crowd, go for the Peli Peli sampler appetizer. In our group, the Peli Peli regulars loved showing the newbies around this dish. I could not have been more pleased with our Easter Fun Bunch Brunch at Peli Peli. I will definitely plan something here again in the near future.
First time to go to Peli Peli for brunch. It was Easter Sunday. The food was wonderful as usual.
Peli Peli is outrageously consistent, in a good way. We visited for Easter Brunch and we waited longer than expected for our food, but the manager came by to apologize and we understand it is a very busy day. The food was excellent and it is a good value too, for what you are getting. Would definitely return for a date night or client dinner.
This is the 2nd time in as many months we have been served luke warm food. We understand the need to prep ahead but you should never eat at a restaurant and be left to wonder about the freshness of the food due to the temperature it is served at. Brunch menu items - chicken and waffles and the French toast were good - my husband’s espetada (a $40 meal) was lackluster and not hot. We KNOW the food can be superb here but we often wonder where Chef Paul is because the kitchen seems to need an expeditor that does a better job.
We had brunch for Easter. The food was excellent! We have been to this restaurant several times and we always enjoy the food and service.
Run...don't walk to Peli Peli. Absolutely delicious entres and unusual sides. I had fish in a delicate sauce, a unique British inspired carrot side and outstanding roasted broccoli. My spouse ordered the skewered chicken and found it spicy - it was not overpowering. I could eat a bowl of the slow cooked tomato "marinara" served with toasted pita triangles and the salad waa crisp and well dressed. I cannot wait to go back and continue to experience the many varieties on the menu. Ask your waiter about the names under the curtained molding on the walls and the lighted tree in the center of the restaurant. There is a small outdoor "sidewalk cafe" area for people watching or a drink before dinner on nice afternoon or evening. I highly recommend Peli Peli for outstanding service and a unique dining experience.
The food was delicious and worth the money! The service was wonderful. We have never been disapointed at this restaurant.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious!!
The service was excellent, however the food was very bland and cold when brought to the table. The sides we're very bland and the potatoes were as if they were reheated. Not worth the money.
Absolute best date night we have had in a while. Corra was the best! The flavors were amazing and the wine was great! Super attention to detail from the staff. Wonderful experience!
2nd time being here, we expected the quality of the food to be the same as our first time (which was excellent). We ordered two orders of the chicken wings and they were RAW. Chicken as raw as it can get. When we told the server, he apologized and offered to get them remade but we weren’t really feeling them anymore. The rest of the food was good but nothing compared to the first time we went. I’m also bummed that they completely changed their wine menu. I loved the original concept.
It was our first visit. I will for sure be back as everything was first class and the sticky toffee pudding---well no words---wish I had more the next morning for breakfast.
it was our daughters Birthday and they really go out of their way to ensure that birthdays are special at Peli Peli. The food was fantastic and the drinks were spot on. Waiter was excellent. Peli Peli never disappoints - Never.
The occasion was the visit from our faraway sister/niece. The waiter was very knowledgeable, about the food and wines. All courses were brought to the table simultaneously. One meat dish wasn’t cooked enough and the issue was immediately corrected with effusive apologies tended to by the manager. Everything was what should be expected of a top notch establishment. Highly recommended.
We had an excellent overall experience. The service was friendly, timely and appreciative. The filets were done to perfection and the sampler was wonderful. We need to try the fish next time !
First visit to Peli Peli. Our server was outstanding, engaging and very knowledgeable. The food was great. I would return again.
The food was delicious and the service excellent. We were there for dinner. Our party ordered their Carrot Ginger Bisque Soup and their Caesar Salad and their Prawn Bisque Soup to start followed by their 8 oz Filet with Roasted Red Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts and their Great Karoo Lamb Chops also with Roasted Red Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts. We paired our entreés with Courage Pinotage.
We went to Peli Peli for our weekly date night and we were not disappointed. The manager found out it was our first time there and she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and we went with two of his recommendations, including an off-the-menu entre. I had the kingklip and my husband had a steak. The rice, roasted potatoes and mango coleslaw are outstanding. We will definitely be back to try the Saturday brunch. A little expensive for just a date night, but this was certainly an enjoyable special treat for us.
Every time we go to Peli Peli we have an amazing experience! The food and the service is outstanding!
We have already tried their Bobotie, Peli Peli Prawn Cakes, Espetada, 8 oz. Filet, South African Kingklip & Scallops and for me their best entree is the Cape Town Skillet, with Tiger Prawns... I recommend the side of Brussels Sprouts too.
Also, on Brunch time, we had their Filet Medallions & SA Eggs Benedict as the waitress suggested and it was really good too!
I just think the noise level is too high and it is not a restaurant to go with little kids. The vibe is more to adults, and they don't have boosters/high chair.
I usually use the Open Table app to reserve our table previously and when we go there to celebrate something (you can mention the occasion on the reservation), they always surprise us!
Always a great choice
Peli -Peli this was one of the most incredible evening with my family on my wife BIRTHDAY the atmosphere was incredible ,peaceful and comfortable our waitress ERIC I would call a friend WHO IS REMARKABLE OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THAT I CAN SAY BUT OUTSTANDING.....THANKS FOR THE EXPERIENCE
Service was top notch w/ Gus. Food was excellent and has never disappointed at all. Ever! Our go to place for a night out alone or with friends
It was overall good! This time it seemed like they were short on staff so it took our waiter quite a while for each step to follow up.
Great food, great service. First time to dine here. Very nicely surprised. Will come again.
Peli Peli is the best restaurant for food value and service
Food was great as usual.
I was in Houston for 5 days, had this as my first meal out and decided I had to go back again for more and to buy the cookbook to take home :)
Had a Birthday party of 11 and the staff was very accommodating and attentive. It is tucked in the restaurant courtyard at the Vintage, which is a great setting. Definitely recommend you try this place and its creative cuisine.
We had dinner with friends who had not been here before. We all enjoyed the dinner and our waiter was great!
Aside of the 3 very loud women at the bar, the service and of course the food was nothing short of fantastic. We try to have dinner at this location at least once per month.
Happy hour is definitely a must for all if you enjoy cocktails
