Great food and great atmosphere!! Can’t wait to go back!
What a terrible experience. I ordered the crab dish, however no crackers for the crab came with my meal and my husband had to go in search of one. By the time it arrived at my table my crab legs were cold. My husband’s steak was nothing but fat. We asked to speak to a manager, however he refused to come. I had to go in and track him down. He said he comped our bill however we were still charged. A very disappointing evening.
First time at this location. Food was awesome!
This is the second Peli Peli I’ve been to and I wouldn’t waste my time or money coming back to this one. The hostesses aren’t accommodating to requests and can be very rude. The wait staff isn’t attentive at all and are quick to rush through the ordering process. Our food came out WAY to quickly, even before we got our drinks, which means it’s not freshly made to order.
Fantastic service, super nice outdoor patio dinning, great food and WOW deserts.
The food was exquisite! I enjoyed the experience!!
Food is excellent. Service was not great because the server was not very attentive. Had to ask multiple times for refills on drinks. Took forever to get order placed.
This is our second time eating at Peli Peli. The food and drinks were consistently amazing. We loved the different sauces and flavors. Took our kids this time. Had full assortment of apps and main courses. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Only criticism is the lighting. Much too bright in there. Nobody likes to dine in bright lights. We elected to eat on the outside patio. Much better ambiance there.
Delicious lobster Mac n cheese
Our food was outstanding and did not disappoint! However our service was subpar. Never the less, we will be returning and hope for a better overall outcome on our next visit!
Everyone here are super friendly and attentive. Food is amazing as always. We felt safe coming here because they take precautionary measures to help prevent spread of Covid 19 very seriously.
Dined here on a Saturday night in November. THE GOOD: management listened to previous feedback and now you chose your own sides instead of sides being preassigned to the dish, management listened to previous feedback and wait staff no longer does a 5 minute monologue during first touch point at table, the lamb simosas were a delicious start to the evening, the filet mignon espetadas were perfectly cooked and seasoned, the swazi sauce, her wings were perfectly cooked and spicy citrus sauce was delicious, my slaw, the Sticky Toffee Pudding, and the waiter; THE MEDIOCRE: the digital menu as they have a verbose special at the top and it requires way too much scrolling to get to the regular menu; THE BAD: N/A
The food was well prepared and flavorful. We loved all the different flavors represented. The atmosphere of the restaurant felt cheap like a bar. It was so loud in the restaurant that it was difficult to have a conversation at our table. The food and wait staff were wonderful and I expected a higher level of ambience and quieter atmosphere. The quality of food and atmosphere were not on the same level.
The food and service were great! However, it felt like we were eating in a shoebox. No upbeat music or lighting to give an intimate or nice ambiance. Just boring and white. Very different than the other locations. Probably won’t be back to this location.
It was amazing you guys have the best food and great service
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner on Peli Peli’s patio, enjoying introducing my 26year old daughter to the delicious food! Our waiter was helpful, friendly, and very professional.
We will definitely be back.
Excellent food and service!
We were sat by very nice staff. Our waitress was very nice and prompt. We ordered the savory flatbread to start. It took a LONG time. While waiting we asked about the burgers with lamb and beef that was wonderfully juicy. We were told they don't make they that way any more. The flat bread finally arrived...rather the dry toast. It was hard and no where near savory. It was not what we remembered either. In fact nothing was. In fact it is so different we decided to leave. The name is the same, customer service is the same. That's it. Don't go looking for any resembling the previous menu. We understand some changes, a update or two but this is drastic and we will not be back. Too bad, because before COVID we came a minimum of once a month.
Food, service, and drinks were all great. Glad to see all the precautions in place for COVID as well.
Excellent food and service. Stevie was a very attentive server. We never had to wait for her.
It's very difficult to write this review. The food was amazing and the service offered by waitress Stevie was tremendous! But our experience was less than acceptable overall. Upon arriving, the hostess was not happy we came unprepared for their very stringent COVID procedures. She called a manager over who then called another male over and the two of them muttered things under their breath about us, shook their heads as if we couldn't hear them and continued to act inappropriately. The one who appeared to be either a manager or bar tender continue to shake his head at us throughout the evening as if he couldn't believe we were eating there. I can understand procedures and perhaps even trying to figure out how to work with us but showing such hate to customers and so belligerently was un-American. We should have left and took our 7-person party with us. But we stayed and tried to be civil. And we are glad we did overall because of Stevie! She was a gem and turned it all around. To the others - I am disappointed and unfortunately we will never come back - I hope you find humility and some compassion.
This was a family dinner for my wife’s birthday. It was a fantastic meal on every level! Stevie was attentive, but not in the way. We (8 of us) discussed each persons meal and there were no complaints! My daughter in law wasn’t crazy about the curry on her chicken sandwich, but she did not complain. Thank you for a pleasant evening! We will be back!
The food is excellent. Everything we had was superb. We had a new waitress so service was not as good as expected but we gave her the benefit of the doubt. The interior is somewhat boring. Very contemporary but not lively or inviting. As such low marks for ambiance. But we didn't go there for "looking at the walls and furniture" and as mentioned thefood was delicious.
It was great to have a server that was actually fro. South Africa. She was able to suggest items to try th jat we wouldnt have thought of. It made the experience even better!
Service was great. Some food was great and some was mediocre.
The food was fabulous! This is our second time dining here and we will definitely be back.
This was my second time to the restaurant, but this time with my wife and as before the food was fantastic and the service was likewise great. The manager stopped by our table to check on us and was very engaging and made us feel very welcome. The only comment was that the restaurant seems to be in transition between owners and the wine list was very vague and we were told that there really weren't many choices. While not a big deal for us, it may be for others. We will definitely be back and really enjoy this place.
Very good food, but a bit pricey. Good for special occasions.
Todo estuvo muy bien así que volveríamos a ir
Celebrating retirement! It was wonderful❤️❤️❤️
We went for Houston Restaurant Week and the menu selection was incredible. The food had flavor and was appealing to the eye.
Had the HRW special, no so special. The ribeye was so thin it wasn’t was completely over cooked. This is my first not so good meal.
We had been loyal Peli Peli fans for many years before we moved out of the area. Sad to say the new casual concept leaves something to be desired. The food was ok, but just ok - missing the depth and complexity of flavors we had become accustomed to over the years. Overall, the experience was not bad, but it was definitely lackluster compared to our previous experiences.
Steaks not cooked to correct temperature. One went back twice.
Didn't know what to expect, but found the menu unique. Food was well prepared, presented and very tasty. Service was excellent. After reviewing the menu, looking forward to visiting again soon.
The food and service were outstanding. We highly recommend the bobotie, it is amazing. The only thing we didn’t like was the seating, not ver comfortable.
Great food! An explosion of flavors!
The Beef Bobotie is amazing!
First time eating here. We went because of restaurant weeks and the food was outstanding! We were in no rush, but it took a REALLY long time for our first course to arrive. It would have been fine if it was just the kitchen being backed up. But three tables that were seated after us got their food well before us. Once we got the first course, remaining courses came in a timely manner. It was lunch and there were only about six tables seated at the time and only three when we arrived. The servers were friendly, competent and I felt well taken care of...except no one even acknowledged and I felt forgotten for that probably 20 minutes of nothing.
