Peli Peli - Galleria

Great food, interesting decor and style, but the canopy room was waaaaay too loud. Service was just ok and they had issues with final bill and correctly running the charge.

That said, would go back, ask for a quieter table, and be sure they get the bill/charge correct.

I ordered a few apps they were good. I am going to try the lamb because that is what everyone was raving about.

The food was stunning...flavors that shouldn't be paired together were...and they worked! The Bobotie was amazing. The sampler platter appetizer was large enough that it could have been a meal itself.

We made reservation and had to waited 30 min for our table.

Great service and location. The food was amazing. Each item we ordered was great. We ordered the sampler, chicken and sticky toffee cake.

I made an online reservation with a specific request to be seated in the main dining area.it was not honoured until we protested and asked to speak to a Manager. It felt like a bad joke because our experience was the exact opposite of what I requested. Very loud noisy area.Our server was very good but our food came our cold and Luke warm after waiting for so long for it .It was our first time dining at your restaurant and it was horrible. No one even acknowledged our special day it was as though the comments I made in my reservations were useless, no one kind .It meant nothing to your restuarant but it was an important date night for us and you guys ruined it .we still tipped 20% because the server did her job .Food was cold ,we asked for MW our meat came extra well done. No manager came to our table to check on us .Poor management.

Peli Peli is an amazing restaurant. The food is so fantastic and flavorful! I could not have a real cocktail when I went but their mocktails taste so good that you forget that there isn't any alcohol. Overall the ambience and dining experience was lovely. We arrived a little bit after our reservation and the manager still went out of his way to make sure we had somewhere to sit and enjoy dinner.

Even after a reservation we waited nearly 45mins tbh which kinda ruined the whole experience from us. The manager was apologetic but some staff were very sarcastic

Peli Peli was amazing. It was my first time here for a late Valentine’s Day dinner and it was just overall an amazing experience. The food was so good, i purposely didn’t finish my food just because i want to eat it again for lunch tomorrow. My waitress Michelle was phenomenal. It’s as if she had the whole menu memorized, made great recommendations. If i could give it more than 5 stars i would. Not a single flaw the whole night with anything. Will definitely be coming back.

Everything was great just the noise was very loud but that is because it was pack. But we will be back it was a first time visiting the restaurant. The restaurant experience was everything and more. Thank you for a wonderful experience..

Server has visible tattoos. Had sides written on a scrap piece of paper that he handed us to read. Restaurant is looking worse for ware. The main dishes were good sides were nothing to write home about. Bland and uninteresting.

Truly enjoyed our Valentine’s Day dinner. My husband and I look forward to dining here again.

Everything was great. Just a bit too pricey but I suppose that’s normal for Valentine’s Day.

Very low class looking inside. No table clothes on table. Tried to seat us in the worst spot. Will not return. Ambiance is just bad, feels like your eating at a Chinese’s lunch buffet. Vintage park much better

Our server was excellent, food was great. Wine list was mediocre considering how many excellent wines are coming out of South Africa. We had a reservation, was told would be at least a 30 min wait from reservation time and the party before us had been waiting 50 min from their time. Hostess told us “open table always over books us”. Same thing happened to us in August, but that time we left. Loved the food, but hesitant to return given that it’s been six months and this issue still isn’t resolved.

We waited for 45 minutes and did not get the opportunity to order our meals, we left after experiencing poor service. I rated Food and Value as 3-stars because I didn't get the chance to experience them and this was a neutral rating.

The business lunch is a wonderful value, lots of food for only $20. Service was a little slow, we were one of the few parties on the Galleria side of the restaurant so I think they tended to forget we were there. Took quite some time to get our checks and check out.

Peli Peli is my favorite restaurant and it just so happens the day I went, I had the whole restaurant to myself. The service and ambiance is always exceptional and the food is nothing less than short of amazing. Love Peli Peli-Galleria.

We had some relatives in from Chicago and wanted to take them to a Houston-only restaurant. The waiter, John, (I think) told us lots of interesting things about the decor — what the ceiling signified and how it changes during the day, which tribes of Judah were represented by which icon. He was very interesting. The food was excellent as usual, but we noticed that the portion size (especially for the desserts) was much smaller. Still a good deal though.

Food was incredible. Such a great blend of flavors. Will definitely return!

I typically go to the Peli Peli at Vintage Park, but it was nice to go to the one in the Galleria. A guest from out of town asked for a recommendation to eat at a place that was different. So we went to this Peli Peli location and she loved it! Great food and atmosphere!

This would definitely rate 5 stars except for the noise level. About 75% of the tables were full on a Sunday brunch service but the noise level was awful. Even in a corner booth away from the majority of the, uh, vociferous tables, conversation was difficult. That's the only negative.

Everything else was outstanding. Our server, Mathew, was a credit to the restaurant. He was energetic, knowledgable, very personable and even though the restaurant was busy - he took the time to answer our questions and provide definitive suggestions as to specific dishes. Since it was our first time to Peli Peli we needed lots of explanations!

We had a Saturday last minute choice so had to wait a few minutes for a table. The food was amazing, we ordered the Chicken Espaterda and flat bread for appetizer. The Mai Thai cocktail was to die for. Highly recommend for a taste of South Africa

Peli Peli was amazing. I had no idea what to expect, but if forced, I would say that the food is like regular Northern European food but by way of the Indian Ocean and the Cape of Good Hope. Lots of unusual flavors and combinations. Seafood was outstanding. Service was outstanding.

TOO loud, for conversation. If you are not that interested, in conversation, then the food is good.

The service could have been better. Example provide kids menu when a child is part of party. Make sure spoons are on table and have creamer available for coffee.

Eating regularly at Peli Peli when I'm in Houston. The food is always outstanding, especially the Bobotie (Haven't had one that delicious in South Africa yet). Just a shame that they took the pork espetada off the menu recently.

One of the most interesting menus I have ever seen. My mouth was overwhelmed (in a good way) by one amazing taste after another.

Great Food and service!!! Everyone was polite. They made my husband and my anniversary beautiful that night with the warm cards they had given us with everyone's signature on it.

We celebrated our mother's birthday last Sunday in Peli Peli Galleria. Cocktails were delicious and the food was creative and of great flavors. The staff was very friendly and our server Drake did an excellent job taking care of our orders and helping us celebrate. I highly recommend Peli Peli, it is a great spot for delicious South Africa inspired food.

Second time dining here and they did not disappoint. We were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday and they went out of their way to make her feel special, including a nice birthday dessert and even a card signed by the staff and the chef.

And the food is superb. Everything we had was delicious. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.
