Peery Hotel - Carnegie's Public House
Restaurant is closed yet open table allowed me to reserve table. They even text me the day before to confirm
It was closed.
Business has closed. Do not make a reservation - we did and had to make alternate plans.
I had 2 reservations with this restaurant, one for lunch at 11:15 am on 10/25/18 and one for dinner at 6:30 pm on 10/27/18. We took a taxi ride and showed up at the hotel for the lunch reservation only to be told that the restaurant permanently was closed a few days before.
This restaurant has closed for business, and caused an uncomfortable environment for us, scrambling for a new place last minute. Update the site!!!
This restaurant is closed so don’t book it. We booked on open table but when we turned up it was changed, need to update aystem
I had a reservation for 18 people for lunch at this restaurant. When I showed him the restaurant was completely closed. No one had notified me that the restaurant was closed even though I got a confirmation on OpenTable. We had to scramble to find a new restaurant very quickly
Fun atmosphere, very comfortable and relaxing. The food was good, and the service even better, there enough to stay on top of our needs, but not overbearing. We had a great evening out and will definitely be back!
Our meals were delicious! Our specialty drinks were very good but also very pricey.
We were pleasantly surprised by Carnegie Public House at the Peery Hotel. We had seen the hotel when we've come to town to visit, but didn't know about the restaurant. We had an absolutely wonderful meal and the staff were delightful. The goat cheese appetizer, Caesar salad, and Steak Medallions were all spectacular and delicious and we loved the seasonal dessert of watermelon slices, strawberry ice cream and balsamic drizzle with shortbread crumble. Chef MaKayla even stopped by our table after dinner. All in all, it was a perfect meal and a great time. We'll definitely be back!
Food was excellent and so was the ambience. Had cod fries and chips and steak medallion, both were great. the bodacious burger is out of your mind good!
Our waiter lost our ticket, so our food took a while, but we were watching the World Cup so didn't mind that much. We had Sunday brunch and the food was fair. This is a good place to watch sports and have a beer. Decor was nice. Food was really just so so. Might be better if you were having bar food.
This restaurant was a great find. The service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend the roasted mushrooms.
Delicious food and spectacular customer service! We went to Peery's for Sunday brunch and it's now a favorite spot!
A relatively quiet weeknight, the comfort food did not disappoint this first time visitor. The online menu is sadly lacking and permits little planning, but my baked Mac and cheese was delicious. Marielle our waitperson was outstanding and I'll return.
Great food, nice ambiance. Fun little place for a casual dinner.
The food was average but the serve was non-existent. Our server came to the table to take our orderand that was it. He tried to take the order of the table next to us before giving them menus. He asked if we wanted to hear the specials but then didn't know them. At the end, we got someone else's bill. The food was acceptable food but nothing memorable at all.
We visited Carnegie Pub for Valentine's Day dinner and loved it. We ordered from the regular menu and both enjoyed our meal. The best part of the evening though, was the service. I can't remember our servers name, but he was fantastic. So attentive, friendly, and professional. I have been recommending Carnegie's to all of my friends.
Only people there. Our waiter was a little scattered, but nice. The food portions were huge.
Very disappointed. Although my reservation was confirmed even that morning, it was not honored because the restaurant was booked for a reception and was closed to outsiders.
Did the restaurant not let Open Table know about this??????
My star ratings above are not real. I have no way of rating food and service when I received none, but the system will not let me submit a review unless I fill something out.
Cozy place, good food and great service.
Underwhelming-that’s all I got. The menu sounds good, and has interesting ingredients and pairings, but execution needs help. Mac and cheese was oily the bacon was flabby and the pieces of chicken were bite-size, for a giant! The Super salad seemed like an afterthought, there was way too much quinoa, and it was too warm, also, the green beans and corn seemed out of place. The spring onion soup was luke warm and the waiter said there was no bread or crackers in the house so he gave out croutons. LOL. Prices are spendy for the quality.
Meal was great...server was awesome, but definitely scarce and we had to flag him down a lot to order food and when we were ready for the check. But food was great and it was a good night.
Newly remodeled gastropub with an Italian-inspired eclectic menu in a historic landmark hotel. Food was good, and the service was extremely friendly. Would come back for a quick lunch or after work bite and drink.
The place was almost empty. We were seated in the bar instead of the regular restaurant which was fine but then the service proceeded as if we were in a bar and there just to hang out. We ordered drinks then dinner salads, then he didn't come back for our entrée order until long after we had finished our salads. We had tickets to a show so couldn't afford to continue to wait and left. Perhaps it was all a misunderstanding but still, I was looking for our waiter and couldn't find him.
Service really slow and not many diners in the restaurant.
Carnegies was recommended to us for brunch and I was very disappointed. We do Sunday brunch through the valley and now I've tried it I won't go back.
3 breakfast/ brunch items on the menu is all the offered. No flavor. Staff was pleasant. No changing tables in the restrooms was annoying as well.
Overall one of the best places we dined in Salt Lake. Recommend highly. Food, service and ambiance were all very good.
It was OK, but nothing more. The food came out sporadically. It took a very long time to get coffee and drinks. The food was reasonably good, but not great. The server was very nice, when he was around, but that was not very often. The restaurant was almost empty when we got there so it wasn't as if he was extremely busy, so for that the service was rated very low.
The waiter was a little off, seemed really hungover or something. He was funny and we were amused and tolerant of his forgetting and mixing things up. It really seemed like an isolated situation and did't reflect the service I saw going on around me. We were there for Mother's day and they had a special menu. It was nice because you had choices and they were priced the same as regular menu. Most restaurants create a very limited Mother's day menu with no choices and gouge everyone. They opened an hour early and it wasn't crowded.
I ordered the Uinta pizza and was at first presented with someone else's pizza. My wait was long, as there were three large parties who came in after me, but with the mixup with my order, they were served before me. The Uinta was supposed to have a truffle oil with mushrooms. There was almost no truffle taste and the mushrooms did not have the stems cut off. I was very disappointed after having waited almost 40 minutes for a pizza that should take less than half that time. Was also disappointed that they do not offer white sugar packets (only the brown raw and sugar substitutes). The raw sugar does not dissolve easily in cold drinks. The service was good as far as having my drinks refilled, but the meal was definitely not worth the wait.
