Pecorino is a destination restaurant for us - we drive to go there, that is how good it is. The Cace e pepe is the best in the city! Feels like we are back in Rome. Exactly the right amount of cheese and pepper and the portion is large. We also had the rack of lamb which was perfectly seasoned and came medium rare just as we asked for it.

We felt rushed right from the beginning of our evening. Our reservation was for 8.30 for 7 and it was for my Birthday. The server was pushy and rude shoveing past my daughters menu to put down a glass. The food arrived fast as most of us ordered the same thing. I ordered a special of the pork ribs which was dry and not tender like they should have been. We weren’t offered dessert rather a small Tiramisu was placed in front of me with a candle and 7 spoons which I suspect was a request not an acknowledgment by the restaurant. Our request for coffee was declined as they had taken apart their coffee machine for the night. We had no alternative but to leave as our coats were brought to us and we were ushered to the locked door. It was marginally past 9.30. I have eaten at this venue several times before with extended family who were regulars and we have previously been almost fawned over .. probably as one of our party was a well known Hollywood personality. This time we had no such treatment. In fact the owner left on our arrival and we were left with the last remaining server who obviously couldn’t wait to shut up shop for the night. Some Birthday dinner. Still pricey and not good value particularly on this occasion. Will not be returning.

This is an excellent old-world Italian restaurant -- great ambiance, food, and service. Highly recommended. We love it here and it is a favorite. (And you can actually have a decent conversation, even with other diners nearby). Excellent.

Really wanted to like this place but I can see why it is mostly empty on the weekend. Bruschetta was weird with basically long rubbery strips of bacon on it. The carbonara had no flavor except for pepper. My wife's pasta was a bit better. Overall I can't recommend it.

Delicious dishes, excellent service, and love the outdoor patio ambience. I couldn’t decide what to order from all the wonderful sounding dishes so I asked the waiter/chef to please choose for me. He brought the sea bass stuffed w/artichoke and mushrooms and it was beautifully prepared and so moist and flavourful. All his recommendations were the best! Will definitely return.

A charming little spot with authentic Italian food and service. Quarters are a little tight and the outside seating area is impacted by a fair amount of traffic noise, but not enough to be intrusive. The food was really good across the board, but not superb. The overall experience was pleasant and we would definitely dine here again.

The food was delicious but the hostess warned us right at the beginning that this was a traditional Italian meal....VERY leisurely. We assumed they were short staffed and this was how it was being handled, which was well done. Yes, dinner for two was 2 1/2 hours, and $200 approx. I didn't mind at all because I was treating a friend to birthday dinner, but service was definitely slow.

I went expecting a very fine dining experience. I guess the food was very tasty and prepared well the service was average because I think the owner chef whatever he has runs around taking care of everybody. And I don’t mind paying for good food that’s why I went to pecorino but the ultimate insult is he charge me five dollars for a cup of hot water at the end of my meal I’ve been to very very fine restaurants and very very mediocre restaurants and that’s my thing I need a cup of hot water at the end of my meal and never been charged. Plus he added a tip for himself which was interesting because in a fine restaurant I give more than 15% and that’s what he gave himself is very strange just thought I should share

I have been to Pecorino several times when my father was alive. That was before 2012. We loved going there a lot. This time I can with a friend and we fell in love with the place all over again. The food was delicious and was served by a chef 👩🏼‍🍳Rafaelle who was just as courteous and professional as his dishes where amazing and intricate! The wine was delicate and rich, the ambiance and overall feeling of being welcomed were the greatest experience in our latest culinary escapades. THANK YOU 🙏🏻

This was our first visit and we were not disappointed. It is a casual, relaxed place with friendly, attentive service and very tasty food. The wine list includes some interesting Italian wines. I believe the pastas are homemade. The outdoor seating is sheltered from the street. They have parking behind the building. We would return.

Pecorino is one of those restaurants that have transitioned from being the trendy, hot restaurant, written about with Stars next to the recommendations, to being the high, quality, classic, restaurant that provides and the perfect environment that giving the guests the ability to enjoy an authentic Italian cuisine without the distracting razzle dazzle. Without a doubt, it is probably one of the most authentic Italian restaurants that have not dumbed down the flavor for an American customer. The pasta, home-made, is excellent, as is everything else on the menu. And a secret - every Tuesday, fresh Mozzarella / Burrata is flown in from Italy - making the best Caprese in Los Angeles. To top off everything else, the owner is truly inspiring, fun and is passionate, and he offers a gluten free menu for those truly LA'ers....5 stars to Pecorino for all of the above and longevity with continued quality.

It is a little annoying that they automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill for all parties. I have seen that with large groups but we were a party of two and that seemed unnecessary. The restaurant was not that busy and the server was not that attentive. Almost like "I'm getting my 18% anyway so who cares?" The food was good, but there are a lot of options in that neighborhood and this one was just so-so overall.

Food was excellent, and the maitre d' was kind enough to switch us to an outside table at our request though the place was fully booked. Only mild criticism was that service was a bit slow; it seemed the place was slightly understaffed. That said, the server was polite and friendly. As neighborhood places go, this one is well worth patronizing.

The food was just fine. They recommended a special pulled mozzarella appetizer. The cheese was bitter and so dry and it cost $35.00, ridiculous. It was just not great and it was so overpriced for what we received. My pesto pasta had no sauce, very bland. The bread was good but I must say our first and last visit.

We lived in Southern California many years ago and this was one of our favorite restaurants. We were glad to see they still had our favorite dish, something we have never seen anywhere else, a lamb and artichoke heart stew with pecorino cheese. Absolutely delicious! We also had a type of appetizer we had never had, I believe it was a zucchini flower that was an unexpected treat. Salads, wine, dessert was all as we remembered it but what was really odd to us was the fact we were there on a Friday night and expected it to be somewhat crowded for the three hours we were there. Other than a couple seated next to us and some people dining outside, the place was empty. Are people in L.A. still afraid to go out to dinner? They're really missing out.
