The menu at P�ch� is tailored to the drink menu and features snacks such as mushroom fritters and grilled octopus, as well as meals such as duck confit and butternut squash ravioli. The rib eye and the Texas wild boar are local favorites and be sure to finish your meal with an adult milkshake such as the bananas Foster.
Huge cocktail list. Excellent service. Care is clearly taken with every aspect of your meal. It's all delicious
Wonderful experience, fantastic ambiance, the bar is old school charm with an amazing up to-date flair. The food was well prepared and flavors blended and complimented each other for a savory meal...and the hospitality and focus on customer service could not have been better. We look forward to our next visit.
Good vibe good food
Fun dinner at Peche with hubby on our first trip to Austin. Food was great and service was excellent. Very young and energetic spot with a spectacular selection behind the bar.
I took my wife there for our second Anniversary and it was wonderful. Unique and upscale ambiance with a great wait staff. The Ribeye was fantastic, but my wife's Halibut was magical. Prices are spendy but on par with similar caliber eats. We will definitely be going back.
Really cool place with awesome food and cocktails. Pricey, but worth it for a nice more upscale dinner.
I guess I expected more because the menu items sounded good and I read great reviews. However the food was decent but lacking flavor - mostly salt. Service and cocktails were outstanding but food taste underwhelming. Luckily it was all day happy hour so that helped but not quite enough.
I don’t like how the cocktail menu is missing prices. Seems like a drunken mystery that could end scary for some people. Like I still would have bought them for that price so I don’t see why the mystery.
This was our second visit. We absolutely love it. Such a treat. The food is adventurous but attainable and above all delicious!
Peche is always amazing. The incredible whisky selection is what originally brought me through their doors, but I have since discovered that their food is among the absolute best in Austin. Had veal with duck-fat mashed potatoes this time around and it was easily in the top 10 best meals I've ever eaten, anywhere. Pairing it with Blanton's and EH Taylor Single Barrel was hedonism at its finest. The atmosphere is ideal for date nights.
Quaint bistro. Had the stuffed quail - one of the best preparations I have ever had. Great cocktail selection as well. Service was excellent. This place was recommended to us by a friend from Austin and we were very happy!!
Went to the restaurant around 7 pm and there was a club right next to it blasting music, and then the restaurant blasted their music to try and muffle the club music which made it way worse. Also, the food was not worth the price. Macaroni and Cheese tasted as it came out of a box. Portions were small. Definitely wouldn’t go again.
Everything about our experience at Peche was incredible...beginning when we walked in the door. The owner, Rob Pate, got us a lovely booth and recommended several cocktails. My date had a French 75 based on his recommendation...it was delicious. I asked him to recommend a wine to pair with my braised short ribs and it was superb. My date had the vegetable lasagna with shrimp...an incredible meal.
The patrons of Peche run the gamut from young students to senior citizens like me and my date...all we’re enjoying the ambiance. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive without overwhelming you. The building is very tastefully decorated.
Rob made our evening very special with some engaging conversation...he loves his job (ha ha)...which is to make every patron feel like they are the most important patron of the day.
If you’re looking for a great meal in a fun place in Austin...Peche is it.
Escargot. Bone Marrow. Soft shell crab. Each dish was better than the next. A+ experience.
Peche is one of Austin's little treasures. The menu is great and the specials are always above and beyond. Love the staff. Always en pointe. Bonus: their coffee is tops and dessert is irresistible. Recommend it all the time.
First time here, really a wonderful experience. Attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff, food was well prepared and delicious. Rob, the owner made it by the table a couple times to offer menu suggestions and check in on us. Overall highly recommended.
Very average meal. Duck Confit was overcooked. Dry. Saturday special, lamb was very good, not great. Lamb was mild but well prepared. Carrots were perfect. Charcuterie board was above average but the portion of liver mousse was no more than a tablespoon. Chocolate torte for desert was average.
Service was courteous but slow. Beyond the "we don't want to rush you" slow. I'm guessing they were short staffed or did not expect the volume of guests. It was a very full. We did not see an open table from front to back.
Also, the website indicates there is valet parking. There is not.
I've been to Peche several times for drinks or dinner with friends. First things first: they make the best French 75 cocktail I've even had. Definitely have one when you go. As you can tell by the name (which translates to "Sin", by the way, not "Peach" :) , they specialize in french food. I can certain recommend the pommes frites and the escargot. Also, one of the few places in Austin to serve absinthe - although I haven't tried it since anise is the devil's seed.
It's right in the middle of downtown Austin so plan ahead since you have to find parking. Good thing, there is a paid lot nearby. Or you can taxi over. It is one of the older converted buildings on 4th Street - all brick, velvet curtains, and no sound insulation inside.
It's a little on the pricey side but try their happy hour if you just want to sample some dishes. Their service is excellent!
Great ambiance like an old New Orleans bar. Good service, food just ok, drinks pricey $15 for even a simple vodka with lemon, no valet parking found garage 2 blocks away.
Horrible service, took forever, gave my drink to another customer and the burgers were completely raw.
My friend and I were visiting Austin and I booked this because of previous reviews.
They had so many delicious sounding appetizers that we shared a few rather than have a main.
The chicken fried quail were a real treat.

Some of the ingredients for a good venue are there but the menu, and the food, are disappointing. This is probably more of a bar than a restaurant.
Chef (presumably owner too?) outstanding. Came to our table and welcomed us; answered a lot of questions about food and drink.
Peche sold itself as a high end, fine dining experience, at least to my eyes. They may be lots of things, but high end or fine dining they are not. The food is good, the drinks better and the service is great. Overall, Peche is another Austin bar that serves better than average food. I’m glad we went, but once was enough.
We couldn't have picked a better place for a special evening. Classically Austin to enjoy fine dining in a comfortable, casual atmosphere. And such a friendly and knowledgeable wait and bar staff. Sunday Happy Hour there is a fabulous value. Our only dilemma was wanting to try ALL of the drink specials...but we did what we could do! All were fabulous. We'll definitely be back!
Excellent food and service.
This was our first visit. Everything we tried from the mushroom fritters to the macaroni and cheese to the ribeye steak, to the bouillabaisse was exceptional.
The service was excellent and the owner went out of his way to be a generous host. We had plans after dinner and had a considerable amount of food remaining. The owner asked us if we wanted a to-go box and we said that would not work due to our plans. He said he wouldn't hear of it and would store our leftovers in their refrigerator until we came back later that night. When we came back he personally retrieved our leftovers. I will definitely be returning!
The ambiance was nice.. our server was attentive and friendly but all around the food was not good.. two people from our table ordered the sweet breads and polenta and the sweet breads were undercooked the crème brûlée was burnt as were the palmier ...I ordered the squid ink pasta and the flavor was not great..neither was the presentation. I would try this spot again for drinks but would definitely skip on the food.

I will start off by saying the food was amazing. We ordered the striped bass, squid ink pasta and the vegetable lasagna. Each item was delicious. My issue was with the service. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say they must have been short staffed. We got seated quickly, but the host had to bus tables. I don't think I saw any bussers there at all. Our waitress was very nice, but she must have been overwhelmed. It took a while to get waters and to order. She forgot our second order of drinks so we decided to cancel the order. It is unfortunate because the atmosphere was very nice, again the food was great, but the service really killed it for us.
I think this experience hinged almost entirely on our waitress. We had to ask numerous times for her to come take our orders; 30 min would go by and we would still have to ask for her to come back. Really surprised how lax the service was.
The experience at Peche was fantastic. The space is beautiful, and unique. The drink menu is very creative and unique. We shared several plates, and enjoyed every dish we had. Our server was very friendly and prompt, and we will be sure to come back
The interior was attractive and service good. However, the food at Peche was disappointing, I had veal sweetbreads and my wife had the short ribs. Both lacked flavor and were in inspired.
I've been eating/drinking at Peche for years now (once every two months or so). The food and drink is always consistent/great and the atmosphere is among the best in Austin. I love this place
Let me be clear: this poor review is about the food. I think if you were going here to hang out and have drinks, it would be fine. And the front of house person and servers were very friendly. The wine was ok and not overpriced compared to the rest of Austin. We ordered fries, as they promote them as a signature dish. Super greasy and weirdly flavorless. We put salt and more salt on them to try to coax some sort of taste out of them. Even the handmade ketchup was bland. For entrees, we had rack of lamb (described on the menu as lamb chop but whatever) and the veal paupiotte. Again, both just lacked flavor EXCEPT for the spinach, which was loaded with big chunks of raw garlic and was inedible. We are not super foodies but this was just bland and some of it not pleasant. So go for drinks!
We were returning for the awesome bouillabaisse. Great service and vibrant atmosphere. A must stop when we visit Auston!!
