What Insiders Are Saying
Pearl's is a casual Caribbean restaurant in Williamsburg with island-party vibes and a great backyard.
So I went ahead and made reservations but when we got the restaurant, no one was at the door to seat us. So we seated ourselves. Which was kind of annoying. Why bother!!!
Food was very good. The drinks were excellent as well. The outdoor space was great, nice aesthetic with the picnic tables. Service was good - our server checked in with us frequently but we didn't have enough flatware and she forgot to bring a drink order.
Great find! Service is superb and the drinks are the best! Try the corn, it's errrrrthang!
The food was really good and the servers were tentative. The ambiance was decent. I would recommend if you like Trini flavored foods.
Food is good, service is reasonable. Prices are a little high for what you get, but it's tasty.
Food was amazing, but service was poor as the restaurant got busy. They just need better organization.
Cool, buzzy place. Food was good, not amazing. Wasn't a fan of the shark bake but thought the ribs and roti were good. Cocktails were good. Service was friendly although we were handed the check before being offered coffee or desert or most importantly another drink! Felt like we were rushed out even though we were only there an hour.
I love Pearl's! I've been there twice and the food and cocktails are consistently excellent!
I enjoyed myself at Pearls. The food was amazing. I highly recommend Pearls if you are in the Williamsburg area. Great Caribbean island inspired food.
Great brunch - staff were really helpful as we had an additional person which we managed to squeeze in. Fun vibe and really flavorful food, and simple menu! Would definitely recommend, great with a group or smaller as you can get cosy and have a good old catch up.
I came here with a large group for birthday brunch and we had a blast! The food was interesting/tasty, the service was great, and when we had more people than expected show up they were very nice about it and able to accommodate a large group. The bottomless brunch was great and we'll be back!
Love going to Pearls, always a good scene!! Hopefully they will think about expanding their brunch menu in the future. Haha I got called out by the waiter for being vegan since all I could really order were side dishes. I love their side dishes so no big!
Visited for brunch on a Sunday morning. Food was solid representation with good flavors though not entirely authentic executions to the Trinidad region they were imitating. Service was inconsistent but pleasant. Recommend: cocktails, bake & shark (flavorful but not authentic) , ackee, macaroni pie.
The service was sooooo bad but the food amazing. Shame
Pearl's has become a favorite spot for me. That food and vibe is YUMMY!
This was my 2nd time at Pearl's and it was absolutely great again! Being of Trinidadian background this is truly authentic tasting food in NY
Great place for a casual but very tasty meal. Food was very flavorful and menu offered good variety for vegetarians through carnivores. Service was good; atmosphere is fun, funky, Caribbean chill. Great value as well, would highly recommend.
Love Pearls for dinner and their food their is awesome. Do not go there though for the bottomless brunch. Their website ad said it was served 12-4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. When we arrived however, they told us they were not serving brunch and gave us no reason why, even though it was 1 PM on a Saturday . I had to pull up the website to get them to serve us the bottomless and even then they told us it was only for an hour while their ad said it was for 90 minutes.
Yummy, fun and inexpensive. Great veg options. Loved the decor.
Nice little spot to go for good food and good vibes.
The food was great. The waitress wasn't attentive that was the only disappointment.
Great food. Great music. Great drinks. The staff was on point and everything I tasted was delicious.
Was late for my reservation and got marked as a no-show, but still got sat! Wings were really good, but plantains were so-so which is strange because I think they used the same sauce on both. Entrees were delicious (I had the jerk chicken) but bread pudding was only OK. Prices were kind of steep ($4 for Mexican, about 12 oz, tastes just like American). Overall good experience.
As a West Indian woman, I am critical of West Indian restaurants. However, I had nothing to complain about. The bakes were amazing and authentic. The drinks are to die for. Will definitely return and make this my go to spot!
Pricey place for what it is. Heavy food lacking in seasoning. Margarita too sweet. Ambience was fun and server was nice
Officially my favorite spot for West India food. Authentic and laid back done with style. Friendly staff and very nice cocktails! People seem to love this place because the tables are always full! Make a reservation! Truly a "gem".
I already wrote to OpenTable about this abysmal experience, but did not hear back. The issue was communication between OpenTable and Pearl's, but they had no record of my reservation (even though I showed confirmation) and I waited an hour and a half before leaving. Please refer to my previous note and let me know if there's a way you can compensate me for the inconvenience. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Horrible, rude staff. Upon arrival in a merely half-fullrestaurant, the waitress denied my request to wait for my date at the table, and instructed to sit at the bar. When i sat in one of the couple of empty stools she proceeded to tell me thats occupied. I asked her at this point if i should wait outside to which she rolled her eyes at the bartender and said 'no its fine'. This was the moment i stood up and thanked them fir the experience and left. Didn't get to taste the food but place doesn't look very aouthentic and after that service at the front of house I really wouldn't want to experience what is going on in the back.
1st Time I went was awesome, last time not so much. Mac & Chs. was dry. However same great service & the manager did accomodate & removed it from the bill...but I like FOOD & SERVICE consistency!
disclaimer: i think we came on a really off day since it was a holiday that landed on a weekday and it was a rainy winter day so no outdoor seating.
the staff was really overwhelmed and it seemed like half the dishes weren't available, which we weren't told until after we had made our choices. however, the food we did get was delicious and the staff was super nice and accommodating, so i would be willing to try it again. just a warning to perhaps be careful if you are looking for something quick, our one hour lunch turned into a 2.5 hour+ affair!
Pearl's was simply divine. It had all the flavors from my grandmother's kitchen back in Trinidad.
The experience and food itself was great. I however did not like how eager the wait staff was to clear away the table. One waitress tried to take my drink off the table when it was clearly full, I had to swat her hand away. I also HATED the fact that the waitress thought it appropriate to approach the table and ask me and my party to leave because they were busy, when there was in fact no one waiting to be seated.
The place is great, food and drinks are delicious. Excellent place for a big party. My friends were ecstatic about it.
Yummy food. Great drinks. GREAT MUSIC. Real island feel. I loved it.
Each time I visit lends to a new experience. The food is great and it's just a friendly place to chill.
