Great burger washed down with a glass of WallaWalla Syrah. Perfect Dinner
Came here with wife and young adult daughters to celebrate a birthday. Reserved table was ready when we got there. Great waitress. Cauliflower appetizer was unique and tasty, and burgers were great. We could watch the Olympics and Blazers on big high quality screens. Will come here again for sure.
We got there in time for Happy Hour on Valentine’s Day. We were a little late for our reservation, but they were extremely accommodating, regardless. We had a couple of appetizers off the happy hour menu, as well as a couple of adult beverages. Drinks were mixed well, and appetizers (pickled vegetables and roasted cauliflower) were tasty, but not extraordinary. We ordered the fish and chips, a large portion, which we split. The tartar sauce was savory, which was good, because the fish was extremely bland. Perhaps we should have had a beef dish?
Staff was very friendly, and the service was quick.
They've changed the menu making it easier on the wallet but the service and food were again outstanding. Shrimp was cooked to perfection and steak was wonderful. Great cocktails too. We like this place to meet up with friends. Enough on the menu and casual with a hint of elegance, even with all the sports' TV going on...upscale sports bar and it works.
We are Portland Center Stage season ticket holders. This is a great place for dinner prior to our event.
I normally don't leave reviews, but this experience was so awful that I feel it necessary...We had a reservation and were seated on time...then we waited for at least 10 minutes as the waiter attended to everyone around us and didn't even fill our glasses with water. When he finally came over, he had a poor excuse that it wasn't his fault. We ordered and when the food came, they brought us someone else's meal. The restaurant wan't busy so I can't imagine what it would be like if this place was slammed. Poor Service, Poor Food, and Not Very Good Value.
I had looked at the menu in the morning before going and found the barbecue burger with onion rings sounding scrumptious since I had been eating only salads for a few weeks and wanted to splurge. So of course they were out of both barbecue sauce and onion rings. How can a burger place be out of barbecue sauce? Why didn't they send someone to Safeway.
I settled for a regular burger & fries and must admit the burger was delicious. Server was apologetic and was very nice and efficient. Main complaint--way too noisy. Our group was all over 60 and anyone hard of hearing could not hear anything. Multiple TV's plus very loud music. Definitely a young person's hang out. Very close to the theatre which was nice, but next time will look for a quieter place where we can visit.
Good burger, including GF bun. Crab fritters were tasty with a spicy kick, too. Very good ginger beer mocktail!
Really, the outstanding feature was service - thanks to Gabby. Food (Alaskan Salmon and Fried chicken) were nicely done and value priced. We would return.
The waitress forgot to put one of our orders in, so one of us ate alone. We waited 15 minutes after we were finished eating for our waitress to come by with our check. It was not particularly busy as we ate early.
The Pearl Burger with bacon was delicious!
Love the atmosphere and waiter was great. My steak salad was just so-so
I made this reservation for some coworkers and myself. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly man and were promptly seated. Drinks were served, orders were taken, and food was brought out. The food was good and warm. Our server either had too many tables or didn’t know how to prioritize because we waited for almost an hour after we were finished with our meal for the check. Multiple times when she walked by we tried to get her attention but didn’t want to upset her by stopping her in her tracks. When we finally politely asked her for the bill, that took another 10 minutes. The restaurant either needs another server or they need to do some serving training with the current staff.
Had a great date here. Watched some of the blazer game and had some good food. Think elevated bar food. Mac and cheese was great and so was the fish and chips.
Food was cold and very expensive given the value. Cold steak frites? WTF?
Pretty limited menu. No small salads to accompany your meal, all large meal salads. The menu has changed from the original and took a lot of good items away. House wine was marginal. Atmosphere good, and staff want to please even within the limits of the menu. Asked for a side salad and they gave me mixed greens for $7. Not even a radish or tomato in sight on that salad. Just a small plate of greens. Might go back for happy hour and a beer when there is a good game to watch. Nice bar area
Great drinks. Tasty food and great service. I celebrated my birthday there with a friend.
Great location..Amazing staff. Drinks were superb
Awesome food and awesome drink with friendly service.
The burgers were awesome! I liked the vibe of the Pearl Tavern.
I made a reservation at Pearl Tavern to watch the Mayweather/McGregor fight. The hope was to have a drink and a meal .
However, the place was incredibly full and understaffed. My friend and I sat for literally 20 minutes after being seated without seeing a menu or speaking to a single staff member other than the hostess who seated us. We left very disappointed -- knowing we were unlikely to be served anything anytime soon. I would not recommend booking a reservation at Pearl Tavern for any kind of sporting event -- all you'll get is a seat.
95degrees and the AC was not working
Good but nothing memorable
Food, service and price all need work. Way too much quality competition for what you are putting out.
It was fine but my husband's steak was cold.
We tried the fried cauliflower and grilled shrimp for appetizers and they were both tasty. For the main course I had the Manila clams and they were wonderful. A very good dinner! The atmosphere was relaxing.
The food was unremarkable. Had a Caesar salad. Ordered shrimp on HH menu. Waiter said there were 6 shrimp but only 4 arrived. Wait staff was completely distracted. Talking between themselves. They did not check bank, forgot to bring side plates. Had to get up twice to walk to staff to get plates, bill etc.
Had a fabulous dinner in celebration of my husband's birthday. Only disappointment was the lack of acknowledgment of our special occasion - particularly after they had asked about it and acknowledged it during the reservation and check in process. Excellent meal and enjoyable evening but would not recommend for a special occasion because they just didn't care.
Very nice small pub style restaurant. Wait staff was very good and courteous.
Food was superb. Had the Halibut, which was excellent and the burgers were cooked perfectly!! The Avocado Chili burger had just the right amount of Chili Aoli to kick the spice in!!
Nice restaurant. Food was good. Menu was a bit limited for dinner choices.
Had another great meal at the Pearl Tavern. You almost want to try everything on the menu! Go Family style.
For starters we had the clams and sausage with grilled boule, a very tasty choice. My husband loved the summer short ribs and my taste buds were very happy with the pork chop with baked peaches, heirloom beans and arugula.
Menu is very limited. Hamburgers are good, salads are average. Moscow Mule drinks were disappointing.
Pearl Tavern was recommended to me by a co-worker that stumbled upon it on accident, and this food was so good! I couldn't decide on finishing what I ordered or finishing my boyfriend's plate. There was a game on so it was pretty loud, and we had to really raise our voice to hear each other. Would be a great spot to go to watch the game at the bar, but not really a date spot if you want to have any kind of conversation. Super friendly staff as well.
Tasty pork tenderloin and well seasoned roasted vegetables. 👍🏼
We heard about this from Oregon Live's best happy hours in Portland so decided to try it out. Great drinks, great appetizers, and a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Honestly, I was expecting more. I thought the food was underwhelming. My chicken sandwich's bun was burnt and there wasn't enough chicken on the bun, which I thought was cheap. Our server was pretty good. I like the locations. Things were a bit pricey.
I ate the place that was Jimmy Mack later that night and thought their food was better. And prices better.
I oFrdered medium rare and did not get it .Food was tepid in temperature. Music was way too loud.
I would come back to watch a game and sit at the bar and order a drink. For a dining experience, I think they need to really, really work on the menu. The prices do not justify the quality of the food. We so wanted to like the food, but it was not special enough to come back to, even though it's in our neighborhood.
Oddly, there were so many empty larger booths (slow weekday), the hostess sat us in a two top booth that the seats were literally smaller than an airplane seat. It was just not comfortable for two adults. These booths were, in my opinion, useless.
I'll stop in from time to time to see if anything new pops up on the menu, but at this rate, I don't expect Pearl Tavern to be around for the long haul unfortunately. Sorry Joey!!
Terrific atmosphere. Great food. Solid drink list including extensive whiskey menu.
This was the second time I've been there. It is located very close to the Armory so that is why I chose it. The drink was good. The service was good. The food was overpriced and not that great. I was hoping it would be a good spot for dinner before the theatre, but it wasn't.
