Nautical ambiance and casual vibe, this place is amazing! Quaint and EXCELLENT servers, especially Tim, and the whole staff. We ordered fresh oysters as our appetizer and they were fresh and tasty. Southern style seafood dishes. We had warm baked bread that was awesome. We then ordered clam chowder. The best I’ve ever had! For our main dish we had their blackened fish of the day with green beans and creamy grits! WOW…. Very tasty. For dessert we ordered Key lime pie and it was delicious! Our favorite place in DC so far.

From the host, Nadia to our server Nate, it was very good service and they had tons of personality which I like. We sat outside and it was a cute setup against the sidewalk. It was really loud inside the restaurant, but their bar is fun, so there's that! My only complaint is the rapid fire removal of plates. We were sharing and had two smaller plates we were transferring the food onto, and when there wasn't much left they descended on the table to take it, along with my unfinished cocktail. I've noticed this in many restaurants so I can't say it's just them. It makes the experience feel rushed, not clean or efficient. I believe they were creating the latter and I ended feeling bad asking them to give me back my glass and the plate. I still give them a high rating though because the food was so good! We had the crab cakes, octopus and oysters. And again, Nate was awesome and engaging.

Each time we visit DC, we eat at Pearl Dive (approx. 10 times now, albeit it s been 2+ years since there last.) This time we enjoyed the fried oysters we suspect it's simply all of us adjusting as we return to "normal." The energy is vibrant and staff very friendly and positive. We will return on our next trip to DC.

What happened to the front of house team? We got a lukewarm greeting upon arrival, whereupon it was obvious nobody had noted the requests in our reservation. When we brought them up, it was met with disinterest. Upon leaving, we walked right alongside the same hostess that initially greeted us who looked up at us, and then looked back down at her tablet, saying nothing as we departed. What happened to the usual "where everybody knows your name" vibe you get from the team here?? We left feeling like we were treated as one-time tourists from out of state and not the local regulars that we are. All that said, the food and service continue to excel! We were trying to remember a dish we ever didn't like and couldn't think of one. Amazing things come out of that kitchen! Hopefully their excellence and popularity are not leading them down a road of arrogance and complacency. That would be worst of all.

We went for date night and we will definitely be back! Everything exceeded our expectations from start to finish. All of the servers (yes, I said all) were so attentive and made sure that we were well taken care of. The food was very delicious. Seating was a little crowded (but we went on a Saturday night) and although the patrons by the bar were very loud, the DJ was able to make the ambience a lot better. If you’re looking for excellent food and wonderful service, make your reservation at Pearl Dive.

Service is off the chain! Our server, Tim, was attentive, knowledgeable and personable. I think the manager sat us and he checked on us during our brunch as well. Another sever stopped to ask if we needed anything. It was wonderful! The oysters were delicious and I appreciated how the list went sweet to most briney, and the runner who delivered them made sure we knew which was which. We shared dishes and thoroughly enjoyed the banana foster French toast and beignets. The clam chowder was a bit thin in texture, but the flavors were there. Bloody Mary’s, and perhaps a shot ;) were on time! Great experience, great place, and superb company because my friends are the best part of every brunch!

Pearl Oyster Dive is a gem with great tasting food and fantastic servers. I like the personal touch starting at the door with Nick and extending throughout the experience with Tim at the table...Great for Family or Couples or Friends. Of course you can come by yourself, but will wish you had shared the time with someone else. We will definitely be returning soon.

The food - especially the seafood - was delicious! The muscles were worth a return trip. So so good. The only thing to know is the tables are right on top of each other, super close together. Service was also very good, friendly and helpful.

We sat at the oyster bar and staff told us we were the first to “re-christen” it since the pandemic started. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, and it was fun to feel in the middle of the action. My husband and I had raw oysters (duh), and split a bowl of chicken & andouille gumbo, and the fish of the day. Food was delicious! All around great experience.

The only thing that tops the food and the atmosphere is the service. We came here twice on a short vacation. Amanda and Nate were the best servers we have ever had and they and all the staff made us feel so welcomed. We will definitely return to DC to see Amanda and Nate again at Pearl Dive.

The food here is outstanding. And the oysters are as good as any I've had. The place has that great 14th Street energy to it. But what really made our visit perfect was our server, Nate. We were a large, joyous group! And Nate knew exactly when to engage a bit in our joy, and when to leave our family to our very happy brunch. Definitely eat here -- get Nate as your server and it's a bonus!

The oysters here are SO fresh, we were blown away. This was a crazy busy night and the service was still great. We were only two people but we still had two orders of the Angels on Horseback (yummy!). I had the shrimp po'boy and my friend had the crabcakes, both were exceptional. We had each type of raw oysters, all of which are fantastic. I'll be back!!
