Wonderful service & recommendations on raw oysters
A little loud, and the dining room wasn't even full.
The food was delicious. Our server, Nick, was professional and welcoming, as were the support staff. We're planning a return visit already!
Stopped by with my daughter while on vacation and we loved it. Our server was wonderful - helped us pick several oysters to try. We wanted to try everything on the menu but settled on oysters, mussels, shrimp cocktail and oysters Rockefeller as well as dessert.
Everything was super fresh and incredibly tasty. Our only regret is that we don't live in DC and won't be back soon.
Terrific food with very fresh seafood. Excellent service. Quite loud, but we were seated as far away from the deafening bar as possible, so it was tolerable.
Delicious, authentic cajun and creole options. Amazing playlist featuring everyone you want to hear during a birthday brunch. Friendly, engaged staff. Pearl Dive Oyster Palace is the place to be!
Our server was amazing! We went for brunch while on a diet and she was extraordinarily informative and helpful navigating our food restrictions.
Superb, well run restaurant with top notch staff from hostess to waiters to kitchen. Excellent menu, delicious food, great service with a smile. Best Oysters Rockefeller anywhere.
Visited in Sunday for brunch. Terrific service and mimosa or blood Mary by the pitcher. Delicious food. The clam chowder is New England style with fresh briny oysters wood grilled, yummy redfish on grits. Grits were coarse not fine and a bit of seasoning helped. Great recommendations from server. Good value for price. Definitely will return.
Birthday celebration at one of our favorite places in DC.
Promptly seated for a 7pm reservation by a welcoming hostess. The noise level was moderately high however there is a difference between a noisy restaurant and a lively one. This is a lively with everyone is enjoying the food and ambience. Started with 6 oysters. Great daily selection from the west coast and east coast waters. West coast oysters tend to be smaller more buttery and lighter in brine flavor. The east coast are brinier and have a bit more oyster liquor. I ordered 3 of each to run the range and was not disappointed. Served cold with three sauces horseradish. Perfectly shucked. Also a minor point but they were served with a small packet of saltines which you can nimble on between oysters to help clean the pallets before the next oyster which helps to taste the difference between the varieties. Most oyster houses fail to provide this old-school extra but it in my opinion shows the expertise of the kitchen. I then moved onto 4 wood grilled oysters with garlic chili butter with a crispy gremolata. Absolutely delish. A small bread basket with mini corn muffins and home baked rolls helped to sop up the butter. Next was the bbq shrimp appetizer over stone ground grits and a small piece of garlic bread. Outstanding. Messy (you peel the shrimp) satisfying and very savory. The grits were both soft and enough grain to be a perfect foil for the shrimp. They also bring a warm moist towel with a lemon wedge to wipe your fingers off after you have finished the dish. Now on to the main. The roasted redfish over grits with brown butter and pecans was perfectly executed. The skin crisp, the fish moist and flavorful. The nutty flavor of the brown butter was subtle. The flavor profiles worked wonderfully. Dessert was a cake with pears and ice cream sweet enough but not overly. Perfect ending. My server, Brooke, was excellent and offered great suggestions. Whoever is cooking is a master. All staff I encountered we friendly and well trained. Thank you for a fabulous nite
One of my favorite places to eat! Great staff, wonderful food and awesome atmosphere! It never disappoints!!
Delicious food and excellent service! The 50 percent off all bottles of wine Tuesday deal is another attraction. We sat down for dinner, but there was a vibrant happy hour scene too. Will definitely be on my list next time I am in DC!
Josh was a fantastic server. The Cat’s Dream is the best dish on the menu
FOOD WAS GREAT AS USUAL. SERVICE HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREAT.
Food was well seasoned and very tasty. We also had a very nice conversation with Cloe the General Manager who recommended two other restaurants within their brand. Service was excellent.
Brooke was an excellent server. The entrees came out at the perfect time after the appetizers. You all are able to accommodate vegans and accommodate our big party. Thank you for being flexible with us we appreciate service!
Great food and service . Would definitely recommed
Everything was amazing. I especially enjoyed the oysters wrapped in smoky bacon and the etouffee. The salad with veggies and popcorn crawfish was another dish not to miss.
Love the vibe in this place. BBQ shrimp. Ravioli. Gatos. Everything is tasty. Do not sleep on their burger and fries - one of city’s best IMO. NYE desserts were excellent. The butter cake!!
We really enjoyed our experience. Definite thumbs up!!
Pearl Dive is a classic neighborhood seafood spot on 14th - perfect for everyday dining. I love the casual atmosphere, and the food was delicious!
The food was great, best oysters and mussels in DC and the waiter was totally knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu.
This is a favorite place for my sister and BIL and we try to get here at least one time a year. Delicious variety of raw and cooked oysters, fish, and other food. It never disappoints. They also have a wonderful serving and front of house staff. We made an online reservation for Christmas Eve. There was a snafu, the restaurant called and let us know only earlier seatings were available. They couldn't have been more accommodating to our needs as well as making sure their staff got a chance to have a Christmas Eve as well.
Great service! And delicious oysters!
Pearl Dive continues to shine! The food remains terrific, the service remains top notch! Keep up the great work!!
I had oysters for the first time in September while visiting New Orleans. Since then I had been wanting to find a restaurant in DC that served oysters in a variety of ways. I found it here!! Everything was awesome. The waiter (I forgot his name) was excellent. His timing was on point - each time he came to our table he knew what we wanted before we asked him. He was by far the best waiter I've had in 2019! I eat at a lot of restaurants and hands down - he is the best. I was there on Saturday, Dec 21st around 12:45 - we had a 1:00 pm reservation. I'm upset that I forgot his name. We ordered the brunch special - eggs benedict w/fried oysters. We couldn't get enough of the sauce with the mussels - we kept ordering more bread!!! The bourbon pecan pie was EXCELLENT as well. Overall everything was great. I can't bring myself to eat oysters raw but my friend loved hers!
I will definitely be back in the near future. I may have forgotten his name but I will know him when I see him.
6pm reservation for 3. I got there early by 45 minutes and was surprised and happy that the hostess seated me and with a smile. Kudos.
The 3 of us ordered: char grilled oysters, braised cheeks, redfish, gumbo. Everything was delicious. Minimalist presentation but no issue.
Beignets for dessert. Not how I'm used to them but awesome.
Getting there early had it's benefits. Immediate seating, very little time before the food came out and pretty quiet. As time went by the place became packed and kind of loud.
Service was efficient but definitely not with a smile (our waiter). He was blase. There were other employees (support staff) who I wished had been our waiter.
The service was great. Food was delicious and came out pretty promptly but never felt rushed! The value for the quality was great. It is a little loud but we were sitting in a booth off the main area so it reduced the noise volume some. Will definitely go back!
It was a unique oyster experience. Whatever we ordered was so delicious.
Great service (thanks Rebecca and team), solis selection of oysters. Redfish and grits was perfect- the grits should be illegal, paired with really flavorful fresh redfish... love a good blackened recipe where the spices stand out not the char.
Great time. Our server was awesome. Food was great. Oysters awesome. Will return.
Pros - Food.
Cons - Everything else. When you read online how the restaurant describes itself you will read about how they are an upscale yet relaxed dining venue with a nautical theme. When you arrive you instead find yourself packed like a sardine into a club-like atmosphere. They have WAY too many tables shoved into their small restaurant (we were literally sitting shoulder to should with the table next to us). On top of that you have loud top 40 pop music blaring over the speaker while trying to enjoy your $150+ dinner for two. The food was good and our server was nice but VERY slow and became more and more inattentive as the night progressed.
I would not return unless there were major changes.
The place was a bit crowded but the food and the attention are very good.
Yummy food. Reasonably priced. Relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Easy to hold a conversation because it’s not too noisy. Service has been great the two times I’ve gone - thanks David and Maria! I’ll be back.
A bit loud when we got there as it was happy hour but at our request we were seated away from the bar. Raw oysters were fabulous and oysters Rockefeller were divine. Hubby had seafood gumbo and I had “what cats dream of” bouillabaisse which was amazing. Our server was knowledgeable of meeting my gluten free needs. Service was efficient but unobtrusive. We would go again and highly recommend.
Wonderful oysters and mussels. Service was great. Cool restaurant.
The food was terrific. They made one mistake, bringing out the main course before the appetizer. But other than that service was excellent.
We started with the BBQ Shrimp and the Crawfish hush puppies, both were really good. We then had our entrees; a burger, fried chicken, shrimp Po boy and Crawfish étouffée. Three of the four were really good. The etouffee had so much ham and very little crawfish that it wasn’t good.
Extremely informative and kind service. Excellent oysters, fried chicken, and seafood stew (“What Cats Dream Of”).
Great oysters -- plus a large selection.
Our waiter was really great -- knew all the characteristics of the various oysters and steered us correctly. Plus highly recommended the special of the evening which was declicious
It was a great evening as always at Pearl Dive even though we had a wait a bit for our table.
