Staff was pleasant, food was good and the place was clean and a very pleasant atmosphere. The only negative was kitchen plating: my entree (meatloaf with a boat of gravy) served in a square flat plate. Very odd choice of plate. Will definitely give this place another try.
We had apps and desserts. Shrimp hush puppies were great!
The Peak absolutely delivered in regards to the unique menu! Had the fish and chips (substituted the chips with mac n cheese...absolute divine comfort food.
The menu is a bit pricey, but the experience is definitely worth it.
The steak had a great flavor but was a poor cut for the price. The scallops were absolutely terrible. The setting was the only thing we liked about the Peak.
Scallops were amazing! Fish and Chips got a thumbs up from the hubby and the meatloaf was a hit too!
Food and service were excellent!! New date night favorite!!!
The food was very good and the service was very attentive. We enjoy going to this place. A bit pricey, however.
We made a reservation for a birthday. My fiancé ordered the meatloaf and I ordered the shrimp and grits. Both were so good. Our drinks from the bar were on point as well. We’re definitely looking forward to returning and bringing along friends next time. Our waitress Hosanna was super sweet, the restaurant was clean and hostess was very welcoming as well. A super experience all around.
Great restaurant. Food was excellent as was the service. New Years Eve dinner was very nicely done!
Only complaint was that the steak should have included a starch and vegetable, and we missed bread for the table.
Menu options were significantly fewer than what was indicated on website and Open Table. Nothing special and overpriced. Service not great. Won’t go back.
The restaurant was completely closed. The party never got to eat there. There was no communication from the restaurant or OpenTable about this.
As my wife and I visited our kids and grand kids in Apex and as former residents of Apex/New Hill for 30 years or so, we chose to celebrate our 41st anniversary at Peak on Salem, because most restaurants are closed on Monday evenings. We were surprised the menu was sized down from the usual fare offered.
We were greeted by a gracious hostess and seated, in what turned out to be a good place for us, although nothing special for celebration. Our server, Kyle, was spot on in greeting us and giving us a 'low down' on the evening's service situation. I had requested a wine from their wine list as I made the Open Table reservation and Kyle brought it in short order. However, Kyle has not been trained in the proper presentation and opening and serving of a fine wine. No matter all was well and the wine above expectation.
The ambiance of Peak on Salem was quite nice all in all, but my view of a previously used table gave an unacceptable notion there was a shortage of staff. The hostess did make an attempt to sort out the table settings but it took quite a time before a staff member came to take away the stacked used dishes and trays.
Once the food arrived we were pleasantly pleased with the presentation and the taste. Smoked Salmon on Cesar salad and Pork Belly appetizer were perfect!
Peak on Salem is a fine place to dine and drink and relax with friends and family, however if you are looking for a quite place to celebrate your special occasion or to entice your significant other, think twice and choose wisely.
Christmas Eve was a great time. Will go back again soon.
The food and service was outstanding!!! The cocktails are very good too, the Smoky Old-Fashioned is a must try!!!
Fun, friendly, lively and delicious...you need to check out The Peak!
Celebration of a new role. Top 10 steaks I’ve had in years!
Food was outstanding, upgraded home cooking
Servers did not wear masks. Otherwise it was great!!
Lovely place for a ladies lunch. The service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the coffee.
Wow! First time there for an early date night, Thursday night mind you so not terribly busy, but phenomenal service! Made reservations since we had our 9 month old, and they had us situated in a private corner with a high chair ready to go. Only three of us but they used a 6 top to accommodate and had enough room for everything. Food was delicious! Scallops and filet were perfect and the baby even liked her mashed potatoes and butternut squash purée. If you can-treat yourself!
Food was decent but for a $200 dinner the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced.
Great downtown location with nice bar vibe. Good menu selections. Top notch service. Apex gem!
Great holiday dinner.
Visited Peak for a work Christmas Party. Party of 6. The Lemoncello Martinis were amazing (every single person ordered one and loved it.) The blue chips....never a disappointment. Filets were tender and delicious, collards were fantastic. You won't be let down by visiting Peak on Salem.
We had a great meal and experience. We would definitely come back
It was excellent food and environment. Loved it.
Our waiter was so nice but the food was subpar and over priced. I had scallops that tasted and smelled like ammonia (only ate 1 out of the 4 they gave and that was with everyone at our table tasting the one to make sure I wasn't wrong) and sent them back. Our waiter was so nice and tried to fix it but I was not hungry and he kindly took it off the bill. We eat out all the time and don't mind spending money, but our entrees weren't worth the $ for the quality and quantity.
Food was excellent, pleasantly surprised, terrrific menu!
Great food, Great service. If you have not been here yet, I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.
Great food and great service! A wonderful atmosphere- fun place for a casual dinner.
Lovely atmosphere and good service, but their thanksgiving menu could use some improvement. Some items were far too salty and/or over cooked, and they ran out of some things as well.
Great place for a holiday meal. Would definitely go again
Good meal, great service
Always a great time at the Peak
Food was great, as was the service!
Very nice ambiance and clearly service oriented on our dinner date. Menu was sufficiently varied, although it would be improved if a side salad size versus a whole salad was available. Unfortunately, pricing was on the high side... particularly for the steaks. So if steak is what you want, I can only recommend Peak on Salem as a location for special occasions. If not, then enjoying the nicely prepared food can be had any time!
Great experience and great food
Somewhat disappointed in the overall menu choices primarily the entrees and side dishes. I prefer baked potatoes and sautéed mushrooms with my steak not available. I would also prefer a few more fish dishes. The food was good and service was as well. I don’t think we’ll be back unless the menu changes.
Monday mini dinner menu was good
Great food and service! Can’t wait to visit again.
