Pazzo Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The food ranges from average to good based on what you select. Experience at the reception area is always a mess for some reason but table service is good. The positives are the parking deck attached to the building, kids menu is large, enclosed outdoor seating is spacious, and the restaurant can accommodate large parties. Give it a try to see if it meets your expectations and needs.
The food at Pazzo is generally very good (we've been there many times); tonight, I had the Zucchini Rolls appetizer - very tasty; they would have been MUCH better, though, if served hot. I suspect it was intended as a hot appetizer, but they arrived lukewarm, and cooled quickly on the cold plate upon which they were presented. The Veal Milanese (on the bone) was very good, some bites were exquisite, others a little chewy/gristly; better quality veal would go a long way here. My companion had the Pappardelle Bolognese, her favorite go-to at this restaurant. As usual, it was excellent, the best Pasta Bolognese she's ever had at any of our shore restaurants.
Sunday is happy hour all day. After holiday shopping we stopped n for a glass of wine at the bar and happy hour treats. We sat at the bar, and the patrons there were very friendly, unlike Florida where I reside. Pazzo is a cute place, with a large enclosed "outside dinning area". We had 2 very good happy hour items, the eggplant and great mussels. We chose to continue to have dinner at the bar, where we had a great pizza of broccolini and sausage. Just what we wanted for dinner, a great treat and good wine. he Caesar salad also worked well with our Pizza. I had eaten here before, so I felt confidant to suggest this establishment for dinner. Next time I am in New Jersey, I look forward to dinning here again.
I ordered the Baby Beet Salad. It was a very generous portion fresh and delicious. For my entree I had the Gamberoni Fra Diavolo, it came in a spicy sauce over pasta. The waiter was very accommodating when I asked for a mild sauce and spinach instead of pasta. It was fantastic. The chardonnay was great. I did not have room for dessert. One could have shared both dishes. I found the prices reasonable and the staff very accommodating. If you are in Red Bank, don't miss the opportunity of dinning in Pazzo.
Pazzo’s missed on dinner last night. We have eaten here a bunch of times. The food was not up to standard, the server was inattentive, missed on water and drink refills more than once.. Calamari we had was rubbery our chicken parmigiana was flavorless. No need to run back.
Not sure why they are on Open Table since they showed the reservation open for 7:15 but we weren't seated till after 8. Based on the crowd at the door many people had the same problem. Once seated cocktails took 15 minutes, apps took 30 and main course 45 minutes. SLOW. With a 7:15 reservation we were eating our main course after 9:30. However the food was good but the disorganization ruined the night.
As usual when we are in Red Bank for a show at the Basie theater we go to Pazzo. The people in this restaurant are always friendly, and the service is always good. Of cause the food, well I would say the best Italian in Red Bank. I have never been disappointed at this location
While the food continues to be the best, we were disappointed in the fact that we made a reservation for 8:15pm and were not seated until close to 9pm. I understand things happen, but wish there was better way to handle as all that was said was we will call you when ready. There was not apologies.
We had fun at Pazzo as we enjoyed a delicious meal before going to Two River Theatre to see a Play. The service was good, the people friendly, food prepared to accommodate our time. We were running late due to traffic and the waiter worked with us to make sure we were not rushed but respected our time to get us served and out the door when we needed to leave. My Veal Marsala was delicious and my girlfriend enjoyed her eggplant and pasta dish immensely.
My thanks to the staff and the Restaurant as I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good meal in a comfortable atmosphere.
Our food came out so fast there is no way it’s prepared to order. Our apps came out within 3 minutes of ordering and we weren’t finished with them when our dinners came out. Our waitress was nice but i just felt so rushed. The restaurant is expensive for the ambiance but The food portions are large. We went to the bar after dinner and felt ignored completely. Had to call someone over anytime we needed something, as if we were bothering them.
When 7 people enjoy the food, service and ambiance, 5 of whom have not dined there before, and came a distance from north and south Jersey, you know the restaurant is excellent. It is convenient for GSP travel and a plus to have the parking garage next door.
I never leave negative reviews for restaurants but in this case I must say that if this is the number one restaurant in Red Bank, Red banks in trouble. We had the veal chop and it was a good cut of meat but was not flavored very well. We also had the Pasta Bolognese the pasta I will say with some of the better pasta I've ever eaten The Bolognese was just so-so. I went on a Tuesday so maybe the regular Chef was off and they should be given the benefit of the doubt.
Service was slow and inconsistent. Small calamari app portion as if some fell off the plate or something because it was small. No serving spoons with appetizers and had to ask two employees and they never came with the spoons. Menu getting old need some new entrees. Few specials as they referred us to the price fix specials which are on the menu anyway. Do they have a new chef? Food did not seem as consistent as the many past times I’ve eaten here.
My wife ans I made a reservation well In advance and noted on the reservation that it was a special occasion, since it was a date night for us and we don’t get out much since we have two young children. We arrived on time and were takes to a terrible table jammed a against a partition wall by the front door. We immediately made our displeasure known to the hostess.
She didn’t do anything. ( I guess that’s what you get when you hire kids to be the point people at the front door) we also let our server know how disappointed we were
( she was the one bright spot of the evening)
Eventually the manager came by / told us there was nothing that could be done but offered us a round of drinks. That was the right thing to do. We ordered a couple apps to share and a specialty pizza. The meatball app was dry and over cooked with what tasted like sauce from a jar / the burrata was ok but the accoutrements were lacking. The specialty pizza ( a clam pie) was just so so / kinda dried out, over-seasoned and arrived
Room temp : all in all a total disappointment
We won’t be back
