Pazzo Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
As usual when we are in Red Bank for a show at the Basie theater we go to Pazzo. The people in this restaurant are always friendly, and the service is always good. Of cause the food, well I would say the best Italian in Red Bank. I have never been disappointed at this location
While the food continues to be the best, we were disappointed in the fact that we made a reservation for 8:15pm and were not seated until close to 9pm. I understand things happen, but wish there was better way to handle as all that was said was we will call you when ready. There was not apologies.
We had fun at Pazzo as we enjoyed a delicious meal before going to Two River Theatre to see a Play. The service was good, the people friendly, food prepared to accommodate our time. We were running late due to traffic and the waiter worked with us to make sure we were not rushed but respected our time to get us served and out the door when we needed to leave. My Veal Marsala was delicious and my girlfriend enjoyed her eggplant and pasta dish immensely.
My thanks to the staff and the Restaurant as I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good meal in a comfortable atmosphere.
Our food came out so fast there is no way it’s prepared to order. Our apps came out within 3 minutes of ordering and we weren’t finished with them when our dinners came out. Our waitress was nice but i just felt so rushed. The restaurant is expensive for the ambiance but The food portions are large. We went to the bar after dinner and felt ignored completely. Had to call someone over anytime we needed something, as if we were bothering them.
When 7 people enjoy the food, service and ambiance, 5 of whom have not dined there before, and came a distance from north and south Jersey, you know the restaurant is excellent. It is convenient for GSP travel and a plus to have the parking garage next door.
I never leave negative reviews for restaurants but in this case I must say that if this is the number one restaurant in Red Bank, Red banks in trouble. We had the veal chop and it was a good cut of meat but was not flavored very well. We also had the Pasta Bolognese the pasta I will say with some of the better pasta I've ever eaten The Bolognese was just so-so. I went on a Tuesday so maybe the regular Chef was off and they should be given the benefit of the doubt.
Service was slow and inconsistent. Small calamari app portion as if some fell off the plate or something because it was small. No serving spoons with appetizers and had to ask two employees and they never came with the spoons. Menu getting old need some new entrees. Few specials as they referred us to the price fix specials which are on the menu anyway. Do they have a new chef? Food did not seem as consistent as the many past times I’ve eaten here.
My wife ans I made a reservation well In advance and noted on the reservation that it was a special occasion, since it was a date night for us and we don’t get out much since we have two young children. We arrived on time and were takes to a terrible table jammed a against a partition wall by the front door. We immediately made our displeasure known to the hostess.
She didn’t do anything. ( I guess that’s what you get when you hire kids to be the point people at the front door) we also let our server know how disappointed we were
( she was the one bright spot of the evening)
Eventually the manager came by / told us there was nothing that could be done but offered us a round of drinks. That was the right thing to do. We ordered a couple apps to share and a specialty pizza. The meatball app was dry and over cooked with what tasted like sauce from a jar / the burrata was ok but the accoutrements were lacking. The specialty pizza ( a clam pie) was just so so / kinda dried out, over-seasoned and arrived
Room temp : all in all a total disappointment
We won’t be back
We had a reservation for dinner before a show at Count Basie. The table we were seated at, table 28, seemed to be placed as an afterthought at the crossroads of the restaurant, hardly a relaxing ambiance with servers and customers constantly squeezing by from the kitchen to the main dining area. Service was lacking with no water or bread service, needing to flag down a staff member to find our server. Ordered a Peroni on tap which was flat and tasteless. Dinners however were very good. With an advance reservation made through Open Table, we should have had a better table which may have been an entirely better experience .
Seated in the back of the outer most part of the restaurant, which by the way was not busy when we arrived. There was an odor where we were seated. When we left I saw mold on the windows behind our table. Service was inconsistent. Told there was no more prosecco, but then she arrived with flat prosecco for my daughter to try. Why???
Entrees arrived before we were finished with our appetizers. The quality of the entrees were poor at best. Very disappointing dinner.
Will no longer frequent or recommend Pazzo in the future
Stopped off here prior to a show at the Count Basie with friends on a Sunday night. Food was good and the portions were not too large. We grabbed a bottle of wine which was priced 3x the store cost I feel it was a little excessive but it didn't put a damper on things. Price of the plates we had were in line with other restaurants in the area and the atmosphere was lively and perfect for a get together with friends. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and would give it a thumbs up.
Over all outstanding! We were going to the Count Basie for a show and not knowing much about the area we chose Pazzo as they had seating within our desired time-frame. Our Server asked if we were attending the show - everything from greeting, appetizer, wine, dinner to dessert was done promptly yet we never felt rushed. Our dinner was served quickly and they have a terrific wine selection. We ordered the salmon, linguine and clams and crab cakes. I have to say that the salmon was the best I have ever had, and for dessert we split a slice of cheese cake which was out of this world. The manager stopped at tables to chat and see if you were happy. Yes - we will definitely be coming back.
Would never recommend this restaurant. Had concert tickets for a 7:30pm show in Red Bank.
Had 5:30 resv. and didn't get served our dinner for TWO people until 7pm. We had to hurry up and eat to get to the venue on time. We made it in time since my food had METAL in it and couldn't eat it anyway and no manager bothered to address it with us. Waiter did take the meal off the bill. Plenty of other restaurants to pick from.
The restaurant was very slow because it was Halloween night. The food was EXCELLENT but as is often the case in restaurants when business is really slow, the server was not as attentive as usual because he was spending time chatting with the other servers, who were also not busy. The owner actually came to clear our plates when he saw they had been sitting awhile.
We ate here prior to show at Count Basie Theater. Food was good traditional Italian. Nothing to rave about but comfort food and value was great. What I LOVED about this place was the owner had a taxi waiting to drive guests to the theater as it was pouring rain, for free! What a thoughtful man.
Would recommend this as a great place pre theater, as we walked back and it was so close, like two blocks. FREE parking in garage!
Love Pazzo. I had the seared tuna with the truffle risotto and it was delicious. My husband had the Orecchiette with sweet sausage and broccoli rabe - again, delicious. We shared the kale salad to start and had the long hots. Everything was wonderful and the service was great!
The glasses were very dirty. Even the replacement glasses had lipstick on them. It's really odd that the server didn't see that before he brought the second glasses out. Not that it's the server's fault the glass wasn't cleaned but when I used to wait on tables, you check certain things so you can get the best tip. The food was nice but it wasn't the best start to a meal.
