We had never been to Paul Martin's American Grill and was pleasantly surprised. Starting with the online reservation was simple and we got confirmation with directions. Arrived were seated immediately. Water was very efficient and helpful. Food arrived with no delays, in fact, it was served a bit too quickly but better than waiting around! The food was outstanding for both of us. When we mentioned that this was for my birthday waiter pulled out the dessert menu and said anything I wanted was on the house. Nice touch. We will definitely return
If you can, ask for Steven as your server. He was awesome!
I mistakenly wrote a review for the incorrect restaurant..
Paul Martins was VERY good and I apologize for the mistake!
Outstanding service and experience..
Love it-our go to!
Consistently good food and good service in a casual but very nice atmosphere.
The waiter was not very friendly. He did not check to see how our meal was. Not impressed. The service sitting at the bar is by far much better. Very disappointing since i brought in a guest from out of town.
Paul Martin’s seldom disappoints, although this time, after giving our order and asking the server to hold the order while we enjoyed a glass of wine, we were surprised that the food came so soon! The server offered to take it back, but I was afraid it would either dry out, or if they gave us new servings, the food would be wasted, so we ate earlier than we really wanted to. The salmon was delicious as usual. They also missed “celebrating” the birthday I mentioned in the online reservation. Would I go back? IN A HANDSHAKE! Ann
Noticed a change in menu from last year. And there was a lot more promotion for the Fleming’s connection.
We enjoyed our lunch there and our waiter Stephen remembered us from the week before and also what we had ordered.
We ordered the same again. :)
Let me start my saying that had my fiancé and I not had a couple gift cards to use, we probably would not have come in, and we probably won’t be back. The food was not great and certainly not worth the price! I’d much rather go across the street to Houston’s for the same kind of cuisine and same price point and MUCH better quality. That being said, our server, John, was fabulous! He was kind, attentive, funny.
As for the food, we started with the artichoke, which was probably the best thing we had. The sauce that comes with it is delicious! We shared a Caesar salad (not good), my fiancé had the salmon (very bland), I had the halibut, we also had a side of cauliflower (pretty good). When I asked John how the halibut was, he raved about it, said it was one of the best things on the menu. I felt confident about my order. My halibut came out EXTREMELY over cooked. The manager stopped by because he could see something was wrong. I politely said my fish was over cooked, they took it back. John saw what was going on and couldn’t have been more apologetic! He really was great! They brought out a new one which honestly was only slightly better, but I could tell that was the best it was going to get. I ate MAYBE half of it. We finished dinner and asked for the bill. I’m not one to ask for free things. I’ve been in the business, managed restaurants, served tables, I was pretty surprised that they didn’t so much as buy a drink or our appetizer for our trouble and the terrible meal we had. If it wasn’t for how great John had been, I would have left there a much more unhappy customer.
Other than the loooong wait everything was good. Having been to Paul Martin’s in another city I would not have known what to expect. However, I understand it was a holiday, but we waited over 1 hour for our food!! Everyone was very nice and understanding but it was disappointing to have to wait that long.
We had to wait two hours for our food.
Easter brunch at Paul Martins was one of the worst experiences at a restaurant I have ever had. It was an embarrassment to have brought people there. From the time we ordered to when our food arrived was 2 hours and the food was terrible!! Managers blamed it on corporate, who cares??? They didn’t charge for the food and gave us a few $10 coupons for another brunch, I had to laugh. Ruined our entire day and we were still hungry. All surrounding guests were just as upset. Terrible.
Reservations for Easter brunch - we come here often to eat usually great food and service - this is why this was so disappointing
We had 3 smaller kids
Food took 1 hour to come out - kept hearing they would check - manager did not check on table
Kids grilled chicken burnt on the outside. And very dry
Good comments from the table were in Monte Cristo
We like this spot, and have had some very enjoyable meals here. We also realize Easter Sunday will be busy most places, but we expect the better establishments have a plan/ system in place to deal with that. That didn't seem to be the case this time. Our server did his best to work with the very slow food prep/ delivery, but waiting an hour for a sandwich, eggs and tacos is a bit much, and, it appeared that everyone was in the same boat.
We had Easter brunch here. They were extremely busy and, although we had reservations, they were running a bit behind (approx. 20 mins). Still, they kept us informed of the delay/wait time. Once seated our waiter was great. He also informed us as to the delay/backlog in the kitchen. He brought us our drinks and plenty of bread/rolls while we waited for our meals to arrive. The time passed quickly enough. Most importantly, when the food arrived it was delicious! Everything was wonderful (croque monsieur, eggs benedict and crabcake eggs benedict). We will definitely dine here again. I am sure on a regular day/evening the service would be impeccable. Even on such a busy day (Easter Sunday) they did a great job taking care of us.
My friend and I went for Easter Brunch and the wait was only about 5 minutes. The food was very good but it did take about 40 minutes after ordering to receive the meal. Over all it was very good.
Got s last minute reservation for Easter Brunch and was thrilled. We had a great table on the patio and the brunch menu was reasonable and delicious.
The Easter service by the waiter was great, but we had to wait over an hour for our food.
We dine here often. Never had a bad experience. Easter Sunday - very busy. Service understandably slow. Our server was great, as usual (she's waited on us before - wish I could remember her name).
Had to wait 1 hour for food to come out of kitchen and then two out of three meals cold. Hated to say food was cold and send back to kitchen because we did not have another hour to wait for replacement food to come out. Hopefully brunch menu and service will improve but we will not be back
Not spectacular. Arrived around 10 am, with reservations for 2018 Easter brunch - 4 of us. First time. Very friendly greeting. Seated quickly. Initial service was spot on. Drinks and cool cheddar bread. Butter tasted prepped because we could decect a refrigerated flavor. We ordered all appetizers and entrées right away. We waited over 45 minutes to get ANY our ORDERED food. We had a second batch of bread given to us, with no explanation what was going on for the delay. We didn’t question. Customers arrived after us were receiving their entrées before us. My Monte Crisco came out cold. The Carnitas tacos were just OK. The meat mixture was good, but the tortillas were cold just out of the package. The prime rib that we were served was chewy and full of tendons. Not flavorful on the outside crust at all. It all seemed very old people cafeteria style. Not much flavor and overall bland. Reminded all of us at Cracker Barrel. The manager came over and apologized for the wait after we were done with our meal after asking if we were all OK and happy with their meals, saying that there was some sort of mixup in the kitchen. We did not complain. We paid in everything was OK. But we would not return. It was a very Cracker Barrel experience. It’s for old people with soft teeth and what not. That’s what it seemed to us. It is what it is. And many people are probably going to enjoy it. But that’s not what I was expecting for a special Easter brunch.
Brick chicken was too gooey for 4 of our 12 guests to enjoy. Waiters we great sides were great bread was good
This is our second time at Paul Martin’s, the first time was very good, this second time they really nailed it. Our family had all different entres and each were excellent.
I had a taste for beef, and thought the small filet was delicious.
Our server, also named Paul, was great, and worked hard to ensure we enjoyed our family night out.
Music was a little two loud which affected the ambiance.
Food was good but overpriced for what we received. We were eating vegan meals and not price reduction was made for removal of the meat from the dish we ordered. We were happy, however, that the server was attentive and made sure to let us know our options. He was careful to help us choose the appropriate meal.
the happy hour cheeseburger and ff and a beer for 14 bucks cant be beat. very affordable and delish !
Courtney was the best waiter EVER! He kept us apprised of the status of our order and how much time until it was ready, he replenished our drinks at the exact time that they were getting low, he has a positive, can-do attitude and helped make our lunch even more fun than it was anticipated to be. The food was very fresh and delicious.
Great place for dinner. Great good and service. Had the Sunday prime rib special - large portions (big enough to share). Friendly and efficient wait staff.
I love this restaurant, but tonight wasn’t the best.
I had never been to a Paul Martin's restaurant, I can promise you will love it, great ambiance, food is excellent, prices very reasonable for this type of restaurant . We plan to go back again for dinner soon! Also we plan on give lunch a try as well as the happy hour..Enjoy!
There was no parking available including valet so we left and went somewhere else. I doubt we will go back.
I really like Paul Martins but would not return until they fix the parking problem - the food and service were good .
Another home run with this restaurant venue! I can always count on consistency when dining here. Everyone that I introduce to Paul Martin's American Grill, just loves it. My server Carl, was terrific and checked on our table in a timely fashion without being overbearing. Management Tim and Eric, are the most personable people that you'll ever meet. They are like family! Run, don't walk here to dine.
We enjoyed our food very much but where we sat was loud. Prices were not cheap but comparable to most good steakhouse restaurants
Service is always impeccable!
The ambiance is great - beautifully decorated with dark wood. Our server (Courtney?) was very attentive and had a great attitude. And the food was wonderful. I had a Steak Cobb salad which was very big, so I intended to only eat half of it...but then it was so delicious, I finished it off!
Delicious steaks. Great service. We come here on every visit to Scottsdale.
Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere.
