Paul Martin's American Grill - Scottsdale
Our waiter was outstanding!!!
Great spot for a nice dinner! Menu was varied and our waiter made an excellent wine suggestion. Nice array of CA wines to chose from.... Lively atmosphere but still calm enough for our business dinner.
Paul Martins has lost its mojo. They have not invested in their infrastructure and the execution has deteriorated that it’s on par with a mid-scale family restaurant like Olive Garden. I hope they choose to get focus on execution and refreshing the interior...
normally this place is great and we have been coming for years to prove the point. My wife's plank salmon was perfect and my son's filet was excellent. I had the corned beef special and it was stone cold as well as the plate. the waiter took it back and brought another heated version but of course my wife and son were over half finished with their meals by the time he returned and I had kind of lost my appetite by then. I wound up taking most of my meal home and made a sandwich the next day. usually in nicer restaurants, a blunder like that would be assuaged by a free dessert or maybe a coffee, or even an appology, although not expected, it would have been appreciated. we will return because we like the place, the food, the staff et al, but the cold food and the subsequent wait left a bad taste in my mouth, well, maybe not bad...just chilly.
Our group selected the corned beef & cabbage dinner for St Paddy’s day. The curbed beef was truly excellent: good portions, very flavorful and lean! However, the chef committed a major faux pas with the decision to grill the cabbage instead of the traditional boiling treatment. The cabbage turned out quite poorly. Next time I hope they boil the cabbage instead. The noise levels in this venue have increased in recent years. Management should consider installing some decorative, noise-absorbing sound tile in the ceiling and walls. Why do people have to create so much noise when dining??
Wonderful all the way around!
The restaurant was a great choice - Scott our waiter / couldn't have been more accommodating. Excellent choice for that special evening!
The staff is extra friendly and attentive. For being a party of 15 they sure had everything handled and well taken care of. And their margaritas might be the best margarita I’ve had since moving to Arizona
Good. Only negative service a little slow. Congenial server.
There aren’t too many places where you can get good fried chicken!
My wife and I had dinner at Paul Martin's. We made a reservation for 7:30 and we were there on time. Unfortunately, reservations there are only a suggestion. We waited in the foyer for fifteen minutes, made a complaint, but told them we would be moving to the bar. The receptionist said that a text would be sent when our table was ready. After another fifteen minutes without word, I went back to the front to check on our table. Luckily the manager was there. I vented and was told that it was my fault because I couldn't be found. I explained that I was waiting for a text, which the receptionist confirmed. The manager then became quite apologetic and we were seated almost immediately.
Other than that, we would return to the restaurant because the menu was quite extensive and everything was well prepared. We started with a grilled artichoke. My wife ordered a salmon salad and cleaned her plate. I had a French Dip sandwich, which was large enough to do justice to a New York deli. We passed on dessert. The service was exemplary. The manager comped our appetizer and we left satisfied.
Filet , shrimp, ahi, and ny strip were great .
Another wonderful meal - consistent mega stars - a must for a stay (long or short) in Scottsdale.
Everything was good overall, but they ran out of mashed potatoes and cookies that were advertised on the Sunday special.
Took a long time to get served and can't say the place was that busy. Steak Cobb salad was ok but the chicken in my wife's smoked asian chicken was so heavily smoke flavored she could not eat it. Have now been there once, so not likely to go back again
Food & atmosphere were wonderful!
The chicken is incredible.
Had reservation but no table available when the reservation time rolled around. Reserved online for outside seating but none available. Waiter attentive. Fried chicken and shrimp very greasy. Creamed corn good. Cocktail very weak. Sorry Paul!
Great service and friendly manager. My wife ordered the buttermilk chicken and loved it. I had the blackened ribeye and the first half was perfect! The second half was not edible as I struggled to cut through it with my knife. Quite odd as it was cooked to medium rare. Hopefully it was just a bad cut of beef
Everything was great!!!
Love this restaurant. Always great service and terrific food.
We always have a good experience at Paul Martin’s. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful !
Excellent food and service. Nice wine list. Had a nice booth that was a little away from the energetic dining room. Highly recommend
Went to dinner with a friend . Food was good as was service but prices are a little high
Good food. Not too noisy. Enjoyed the evening
We have eaten at Paul Martin's several times, and the food is consistently excellent, and the service is equally excellent. Scott, our server, was attentive, knowledgable, and welcoming.
Had a absolutely amazing dinner service was excellent and the food was amazing
Everyone was nice and it was quick
As Always We Had A Wonderful dining and social experience!
Went here with a group of 7 guys for a special occasion. We made a reservation and had to wait at the bar for 15 min but for a large group, that’s reasonable. Our server was excellent, very attentive and helpful with recommendations. Steaks were well cooked except for one but the server immediately brought it back to have a fresh steak cooked to the requested temp. They do a fire seared steak so it has a nice char. I enjoyed it but one my friends wished it was more well seasoned. They were very juicy though. Sides were delicious as well. Bottom line they catered to our large group very well and the service was excellent.
Great service!! Super food
Slow service for everything. 2 hour dinner during off time. Not so crowded.
For a semi high dollar restaurant we expected more. The pork ribs were good but smothered in a too intense sauce; should have asked for it on the side. French fries which was with it were over fried and total sticks. Shrimp linguine was decent. Happy hour menu only available at bar stools in the bar not at a booth in the bar area which seemed odd and they should give notice of that on their website. Calamari app was quite good.
Well worth the time whether for a full course me or happy hour. Reservations recommended on weekends,
Great waiter named John. We enjoyed the food and the great, energetic atmosphere. Will definitely return next time we’re in Scottsdale.
Excellent service and great food.
Great food! Excellent service! Best artichokes ever! Go....you will love it!
Food was great , service was great from checking in to being served. Everyone was very friendly.
Passed up outdoor table to sit at bar...great vibe. Paul (bartender) very friendly, good conversation. Felt more like a neighborhood bar.
Great service by Zack
Hoisin pork chop was amazing with brussel sprouts. Enjoyed with Annabelle Pinot Noir. Other guest had French dip, rib eye and burger. All good but nothing special. Cocktails were mediocre. However our waiter, Zach was terrific. Attentive, friendly and very enjoyable to have as our waiter.
