Paul Martin's American Grill - Roseville Ratings and Reviews
It could have been a off night but the service left much to be desired. It was our sons anniversary and with busy schedules hard to get the whole family together. Was hoping for good service and food. My daughter in laws wine came 15 minutes after everyone else’s. And it took considerable time to clear xtra wine glasses from our table that weren’t being used. Made it difficult to eat our appetizers with glasses in the way. When we were done with appetizers they were slow to take our plates away. I stacked them and put to one side so as to tidy our table. Will this stop me from going bac? Probably not but what could have a great experience turned out to be mediocre
It was very loud. The food was other great and the portions were either way to small or huge. Also, the food came out 5 minutes after ordering. That is usually not an issue and should be lauded, but one was chicken (quarter) with mash potatoes and other was salmon. Neither tasted made to order and the chicken was very dry.
We went out for my wife’s birthday. First time at restaurant and was very happy with the prompt and friendly service. The choice of appetizers were great, the drinks were nice and the food was terrific. The steak was soo tender I only used my fork. I can’t remember having such a great time out for dinner. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends. Very Impressed.
I will definitely be back with family and guests.
Visited Paul Martin’s, my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. We have visited this location before and enjoyed it.
I had prime rib, my wife quinoa salad with chicken. Both were prepared and served well, really good flavors. I brought my own wine so didn’t look at the wine list.
My wife has a dairy allergy and Paul Martin’s is always able to adjust preparations to accommodate her allergies.
Two tips, have the sweet potato fries. If you want a quiet dining experience, this isn’t the right place. Noise level is pretty high.
Had made a reservation a week ahead of time with a request in the reservation to be seated in a booth for 5 people to celebrate my mother's birthday. The reservation was for 3pm on a Sunday to take advantage of the happy hour specials and the prime rib prix special. It was a very quiet and slow time for the restaraunt, yet service started off slow with the server taking orders from other tables that had arrived much later than our reservation. The happy hour food specials were delicious for appetizers, the cocktails with fresh fruit & juice were worthwhile. The prime rib dinner, salad and dessert were worth the drive out to this restaraunt. Sadly, at the end to celebrate my mother's birthday, the staff had to be reminded that it was mother's birthday. The server then served her a toasted marshmellow with icecream briefly apologizing for not having any candles. He did not even stay to sing happy birthday. He immediately left the table after dropping off the marshmellow icecream. I had made this early dinner reservation a week prior and this restaraunt failed to make a genuine birthday celebration or even have a birthday candle. The wait staff didn't sing happy birthday or provide any candles. I would not recommend this place for birthdays.
Overall it was a good experience with delicious food and a nice, though slightly noisy, atmosphere. The noise level was to be expected given the size and popularity of the restaurant. Our server, Matthew, was friendly and knowledgeable with great menu recommendations. My only complaint would be with the hostess - We arrived slightly early for our reservation and were told we'd be seated closer to our reservation time. Understandable, however, we wound up not being seated until almost 25 minutes past our reservation. If you're going to accept reservations, the hostess needs to properly accommodate for those who reserved in advance when accepting walk-ins (i.e. walk-ins should be informed of a longer wait due to reservations). Additionally, the hostess was clearly in a bad mood. While we all have bad days, you can't let your customers see it and the hostess is your first impression of a restaurant upon arrival. We do plan to return as good restaurants like this are hard to come by in the area. We just hope for a better experience upon arrival.
My second time, very good. As the first time I,love the ambience. Food was good, my date had the salmon and I had the Halibut. Love the char on the outside of the halibut, would have like to see it a tad thinker. The dates salmon was very good, cooked perfect. We would go back.
I had their brick chicken with mashed potatoes. Chicken is amazing. Potatoes are a bit on the "slim" side....I put more butter in mine. Great apple crisp for dessert. I went for lunch and it was nice and quiet. We had a very patient waitress who helped us find delicious wines.
We had everything...cocktails, appetizers, entrees, sides, wine, and dessert. Every single thing was delicious. The seafood platter was great but too small for our group of 6 (well, we had 8 but two were vegetarian/vegan). They were very accommodating for our vegetarians. The desserts were really delicious. Our server, Matthew, was really great. Attentive and very funny. We had a great time!
We've been to Paul Martin's many times and always enjoyed it. They handled the expected New Year's Eve crowds well - though we had to wait a little longer to not get the table near the door, the hostess worked hard to accommodate our request quickly. Food was excellent as always, and the service was great.
Very high noise level. Table for six, we couldn’t hear anyone talk unless they shouted. Food not hot. I requested a certain table on my reservation three weeks before dinner date. Didn’t get it. Got a different table in high traffic area.
I’m afraid they have become a victim of their own success! Used to be my favorite restaurant. No more.
What a disappointment. We ordered the skirt steak and the holiday special, filet oscar. The skirt steak had a good flavor but they were skimpy with the serving for $32. The filet oscar was a petite filet topped with a crab cake with lump crab and a hollandaise sauce. The crab cake was soggy and tasted terrible. The steak served medium rare when I ordered medium so it was sent back. The quality the steak was fatty and just weird. I didn't finish the steak. The server kept saying that it was harder to cook petite filets to the correct temperature. It's not worth the money. This was our first and last visit to Paul Martin's.
The best food and Service, Friendly waiter. We have tried several things over the last few visits
Short Rib was great, Pork Ribs the best, Salmon unbelievable, Blackened Redfish was good.
So far I thing it would be hard to get a bad meal.
And no Corkage Charge, what a surprise that was
We came in to Paul Martins for our annual birthday/holiday dinner with our friends. The restaurant never disappoints. We started in the bar for a happy hour drink and then moved to our table at our reservation time. Alexa was our server and she was fun and informative and witty! We loved her vibrancy! I asked about 2 options for dinner and ended up ordering the Brick Chicken. WOW! It was wonderful! Presentation, consistency and staff always keep us coming back!
Visited the area and been here for happy hour a couple times this holiday season which was phenomenal! I reserved through Opentable and indicated a birthday special occasion and requested a booth table. Took my mom here for her 74th birthday and ended up being sat right outside the kitchen and right by the bar which was loud, lots of server traffic and horrible. The food was delicious and our server was friendly however the bill came and had another table's charges.
I'll stick to just happy hour here 😉👍
I love this place. Any day of the week is a good day to nine here. Met my friend here for a quick dinner on a Thursday night and it was hoping! Server was great (Peter) and super attentive and knew his stuff. I’m a vegetarian and he recommended the warm quinoa bowl and oh my goodness! It was so ridiculously good I thought I might lick the bowl. We noticed that all of the servers were looking like someone you would want to have Steve you. They were super nice and looked like they were enjoying their work. The place was super busy but the staff was cool as the other side of the pillow! Can’t wait to go back and next time I’m taking a larger group of friends.
I booked this restaurant for a quiet post-holiday family lunch. We've had a tough year as a family and are on the other end of it. How nice it was to enjoy a delicious lunch in the grill's elegant setting and just enjoy each others' company! My father is hard of hearing, so struggled with the ambient noise. I saw booths available that I might request if going with him in a smaller party. Our server was fine, but not outstanding. Perhaps its because there were two large parties nearby. (We were just five people.) The crabcake were delicious, but one crab cake for $17 seems a little reaching. Overall, we had a very nice meal and will be back.
It was Christmas Eve and the restaurant really did not seem festive. My husband and I had dinner at the bar and it was very hard to get service and seemed like the bar staff did not want to be there.
It was not the best experience for spending a couple hundred of dollars.
