    This was our first visit to Paul Martin's in Roseville; we chose it to celebrate a family birthday. We discovered an inviting atmosphere, delicious food, and gracious service. Our server, Lindsay, was one of the best servers we've encountered in some time. She was personable, professional, kind and with a terrific sense of humor. She added to the delight of our evening and even thoughtfully comped our dessert. My husband ordered steak and said it was perfect, just as he'd requested. I had the salmon and was equally pleased. It literally melted in my mouth! Thank you, Paul Martin, for a happily memorable birthday dinner. We look forward to our next visit.

    We made reservations for a business meal for 4 people, we were seated in a small booth which isn't ideal for a business meeting, but more importantly the service was poor and extremely slow. The server was slow to take our drink and food orders, and the food did not come out at the same time. Two meals came out, the 3rd came 5 minutes later, and the 4th was about 10 minutes after that. Overall, we were there an hour and 40 minutes... while the table next and seated immediately after us ordered, ate and left all before we got our food.

    This is really nice inside. The service is great. Way overpriced and for what I've seen online, I expected more. My stepfather was not impressed with the short ribs...or should I a small short rib. He said there is some flavor to the meat but it tastes like it was cooked in vapor. My mother was happy with her salmon and the side mash potatoes. My pasta dish with lobster was ok. Maybe like two little pieces of lobster the rest was good size shrimp which I wasn't expecting. A different taste of pasta sauce but not the greatest. Raspberry mule was delicious. Our first time here and probably not going to be a second time. But thanks for the great service.

    Our third year in a row attending their version of a Thanksgiving dinner. Other than a soup that was not served hot enough (it was sent back and they readily remedied the issue with a new, hot bowl of soup) it was a wonderful way to spend our Thanksgiving evening and dinner. Plenty of food tha thas great flavor and value...enough for the next day as well.

    It was Thanksgiving and one of a handful of open restaurants. We were seated quickly but the good service stopped there. Cocktails were expensive and tasted cheap, barely palatable. Food was okay but was very overpriced. $250 later (3 people), we should have made grilled cheese at home :/

    Despite a reservation we weren’t seated until 20 minutes past. I asked why and the hostess said the people had been there for almost 3 hours even though reservations are made in 90 minute blocks, they won’t kick them out. The food was terrible! The server noticed I didn’t eat my meal and removed it from the tab without me telling her I was displeased. Would not come back!

    We waited 20 minutes in the bar area to receive any attention. Once we asked for some service from waiter, the manager and waiter were very attentive. We received a complementary appetizer and the server was very attentive and apologetic. The surf and turf special was great!

    My wife and I had reservations for her birthday. I had the seafood pasta and my wife had the steelhead salmon en cassolette. The linguine in the seafood pasta was undercooked and the shrimp tails were smashed and mixed through the dish. It felt like I was eating small pieces of rubber at every bite. The salmon in my wife's dish was undercooked/raw in certain sections. We ate as much as we could and left. It was so busy that we felt like complaining would just cause more havoc. Plus, my wife asked me not to complain. I am hopeful that the restaurant will see this and avoid these situations for future guests.

    Our server was very knowledgeable and went through each entree to even make sure we liked all the garnishes that accompany the main event. We went for a birthday celebration and every person had a great experience.

    We love Paul Martin’s. Both the food and wine selection are great. We usually dine outside, which we really enjoy. It’s a bit noisy inside, but still ok with nice decor.

    Poor service. The waitress could keep track. We 1 of 2 appetizers and had to ask for the second one. We got 2 of the 3 salads and had to ask for the 3rd salad. She charged us for the wrong table with our card. Very loud. Food was okay but not great for as much as we spent.

    Unfortunately it was 2 of us and half of my food was burned so I sent back the burned 1/2. For the other half replaced way later when all the plates were already cleared and this time they brought out the wrong side. Manger brought it over who was super rude w no apology just being a complete jerk and left it on the table. Then the waiter finally came over and exact same thing, he decided to yell at us about how that’s what we had ordered. Clearly lying either because he replaced it w the wrong item. We ended up paying our bill and left. What horrible night out. Just wanted to relax and have a good dinner. To top it off we were regulars there and now have zero desire to ever go back

    The staff is not as upscale as the price points. The steak was overdone, and it took 30 minutes to get a replacement. No steak knives were provided, and I had to ask twice before I received it. The food was warm, not hot. Surprisingly, the day before I dined there, I also dined at Ruth Chris. Comparatively, the food was less expensive at Ruth Chris, but the service, the quality of food, ambiance, etc. was stellar at Ruth Chris, but not so at Paul Martins.

    Definitely will return. The reason for the lower rating was the short rib. Sometimes they are too fatty for my taste. But my husband raved about the mushroom soup and the salad and he enjoyed the short rib. Comes with the best mashed potatoes. Whatever you do get the chocolate cake. Our favorite! Cocktails are good too. Paper plane and Gold Rush are the go to's.
