Service was excellent. Justine was our waitress. Friendly and checked on us often. It was an early reservation with lots of prom diners. Food came out promptly. Seafood pasta great, halibut delicious taste and great portion. The only negative was the halibut was borderline dry. Great wine selection. My husband and I will be back.

A group of us went out for dinner and drinks for St Patty’s day. Service was great and so was the food and drinks. Definitely a good idea to reserve a table via Open Table otherwise the wait would’ve been insane.

The food took quite a long time to arrive. The service during our meal was extremely slow from start to finish, When our food finally did arrive, it was very bland and unseasoned. In fact, the coleslaw that came with my ribs was inedible. The employees are very nice here, but something was off this night. We sincerely hope things improve.

Overall food was average for the price. My steak was high quality, tender, and juicy, but lacked flavor. I enjoy a great meal and I am very willing to pay for it. At 50 a steak I expect it to exceed expectations, not be average.

The Brussel sprouts were to die for, the rib eye not. $48 for ribeye for lunch and it was not great! The mashed potatoes were great too! And the wedge salad also good! It would have been a higher score if not for the steak which is the main attraction after all! I would recommend to friends to eat here!

Poor us at Paul Martin’s. Good ambiance for drinks - PERIOD. Perhaps I should have had a few more dirty martinis with Bombay gin and maybe, just maybe my food would have tasted better. A consumer at heart, unsure about you, and I expect a level of service and/or experience at a certain level of price point. This was overpriced! We ordered the house salad - where’s the dressing? The blackened shrimp - nothing was blackened and you might as well call it the Tabasco shrimp dish. My seafood pasta… where is the flavor of the sea? Seafood is already salted and the seafood was rubbery and BLAND. The fried calamari was decent, though it could have been bit lighter and fluffier. For those that gave a generous rating between 3-5 stars… what are you comparing it to…?

I have been enjoying Paul Martain's for years. Typically, the service is good, food and value is above average. This time, the service was poor, food good but expensive so the value was below average. I will think twice prior to going there in the near future unless it is for happy hour.

Our server was outstanding. It was a very busy Friday night, but our server always had time for us, our drinks from the bar came out promptly and a minor issue of slightly undercooked steak was dealt with efficiently. Also, our server was very accommodating about side substitution, as well.

Ordered my rib eye steak medium. Came out rare. Had to send back to cook more. By the time it was brought back out, my wife had already finished her meal. We ordered a butter cake for dessert and it came out over-done. Crispy edges. Server said it was supposed to be soft and moist inside, which it definitely wasn’t. She offered to have another one made, but at that point we just ate it. I will say that our server was excellent. She was courteous and apologetic for the kitchens mistakes. Even comped our dessert for the inconvenience. Needless to say, it wasn’t the kitchens best night. This was our first time at Paul Martin’s since the pandemic and we weren’t impressed enough to go back anytime soon.

We elected to sit at the bar for a drink prior to dinner. My wife ordered a rather expensive glass of Zinfandel. I happened to glance down at our server, who was pouring the wine and noticed that he did not quite fill the decanter because the bottle he chose was almost empty. Instead of taking the time to open another bottle, he reached next to a different bottle of wine and topped off the decanter. I was going to say some thing, but my wife had a very stressful day, and I did not want to make a scene. But that is absolutely unacceptable.

We had a mid-afternoon reservation and got a nice booth toward the back of the restaurant. Good for conversation. Tess was our server and she was great! Attentive and on top of things. We really like Paul Martin's and try to go there whenever we’re near Roseville. Good food, drinks and wine list.

Didn’t help that we were near the front where it was cold. Then the drinks we made by someone that must have been new. Cocktails were way watered down and not sure they were what we ordered. Overheard other table complaining about them as well so we held off saying something. Just wasn’t the same experience we have had before. Walked away disappointed for $130. Not worth the price, but now we know.

We stopped in for a casual dinner at PM's that was greatly enhanced by our server (Quinten?) who was most engaging and personable. If I had a restaurant he would be one of the first service staff 'hires'. The calamari was spot on for the preparation and flavor...tender with a light crispy coating as it should be. The hamburger and French dip sandwich were a solid executions as well. The brussels sprouts were flavorful but could have used a lighter touch. When you leave a dining spot and think about the next meal at this establishment it's a successful evening all around.

I brought my daughter with me and everyone treated her sooo nice she says Hi and waves and million times hahaha so some places u can tell they get over it quick not here everyone smiled and no one didn’t say hi back she had a blast !! My service was dope the customer service was a 10 !! The food was 8 but i only say 8 due to the facts my ladies shrimp was a little over coooked . My food was FIRE so 10 for my plate 8 for hers hahah anywho I’ll be coming back for sure I’m so mad i live close and never have been !! This place was slept on my Bw but not any more !! Thanks for the dope experience with good vibes !!

Valentines Day! Our expectations were fully exceeded. Elmer, our server, was fantastic. Very friendly, professional and did a great job. In addition to the fabulous food, it was great to have the managers stop bye to chat and confirm our experience was great. Highly recommend.

We were two couples for Valentine’s Day. Our Server was very good. The biscuits and bacon wrapped scallops appetizers were delicious. Our drinks were good except the Long Island ice tea had too much alcohol. The Halibut was great. The short ribs were average. The Salmon was terrible, drowned in a broth and the asparagus was soggy under the salmon in the broth and was tasteless. The butter cake and chocolate cake were great. We were a little surprised that the server did not offer to replace the Salmon without the broth when we indicated it was not good. The booth was very comfortable and we had a nice time. Expensive night for average food.

My husband and l dined in for Valentine’s Day. It was super chill and relaxing. Our waiter was outstanding and made our experience even more pleasurable. The food was also outstanding, we had the salt and pepper shrimp for an appetizer and for entree we had the short ribs, mashed potatoes and garlic green beans. Our waiter highly recommended the butter cake for dessert. It was the most amazing Best butter cake l have ever tasted! So many people give this place a bad rap, I beg to differ. Excellent food, atmosphere, and staff.

Overall very positive experience and we will likely return for a special occasion that justifies the high cost of dining at Paul Martin's American Grill. We enjoyed cocktails and dinner while seated at a table in the back row of the restaurant. The back row of tables are along a path that leads to the kitchen, so it is a busy corridor and would not be my preferred seating for a future visit. Our server was prompt, polite and pleasant. When my Filet Oscar was served, she asked if I would like to cut into it to inspect for correct temperature. I cut into it and discovered it was medium-rare rather than medium as ordered. She offered to take it back for more fire, but I opted to keep it rather than delay the meal. It was delicious. The Chef's Special dessert was exceptionally good. Everything was very nice, not 5 stars, but a strong 4 stars all around. Our bill for the two of us included appetizer, cocktails, entrees, dessert and 20% tip which totaled $240.

I had the "Brick" chicken based on the waitress's description. But honestly, it was nothing special and rather bland. My wife had filet mignon which was a very good cut of meat and cooked as ordered. Waitress Tes was very good. However value for our dollars was lacking. This was our first visit but we left feeling we had over-paid. This, even after the manager didn't charge us for desserts, due to my comment to Tes that chicken was bland.
