Service was very good. Entree was okay, but loved the bread. Very noisy.
Saturday night party of six. Dinner was excellent and the service was superb. Our waiter got everything right and was very attentive.
We went for Dine LA Restaurant Week. We had to request the special event menu, but the choices were outstanding! I had the short ribs (boneless) and my husband had the shrimp pasta. The meals came with appetizer, soup or salad, and dessert. We both chose the campfire sundae. If you have a chance to try it, you will not be disappointed. The service was attentive but the restaurant was a little noisy. Overall, we were very pleased. Parking is free (rare for Pasadena) in the adjacent shopping center structure. Be sure to make reservations, because they were turning people away at 5 pm.
Great food and service as usual.
We waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged by ANYONE once we were seated. Apparently the server for our area had left work.
Once a server came by, she was excellent, attentive and acknowledged our patience. She saved our experience.
Best French dip I’ve had in years. Friend’s Cobb also excellent. Quality organic ingredients. Wait Staff attentive and friendly.
We love the variety in the menu and great value. My husband had the prime rib Sunday special it was the best prime rib we have had in years I had a delicious ahi tuna salad
It was exceptional. One of the best lunch meals I’ve had in ages. Well done
As usual, this restaurant provided superb food with relaxed but attentive service in a comfortable environment.
Good food, good service and perfect date night. Just don’t ask for a straw.
The food is really good, but the service Shea have us was amazing!!!
We went on a Sunday for their prime rib special. It is not only delicious but a great price also. The host was gracious enough to switch out the standard dessert that is included to their wonderful butter cake. It was a lovely evening.
Four of us went to this restaurant on Saturday for lunch. To our surprise the restaurant was pretty empty, contrary to what we expected (we were there before for dinner and the restaurant was very crowded and noisy.) However, food and services were both great again this time.
Overall, I really enjoyed this place. I got the fried chicken dish. It was absolutely delicious. Best chicken I’ve eaten in my life. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will return.
Fantastic experience. Perhaps the best halibut I’ve ever had. Excellent service and very reasonable prices.
Our party of 6 had a great time for our 9:30pm new years eve dinner. Excellent service and fabulous food and cocktails.
Its one of our favorite places to dine. Will certainly recommend to friends.
Very friendly staff. We had a wonderful time out for our New Year's Eve dinner and enjoyed the food and drinks.
Love Paul Martin's! Had maybe the best sea bass I ever ate on New Year's. Love the salt it's just cooler music, and it's not abrasive to clientele.
My husband’s fish was over marinated in miso and undercooked. My halibut dish was good, but the chocolate mousse brownie had no taste and was pretty rubbery. The waitress promised us bread and didn’t bring it, and despite having a reservation we still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated.
Jimmy, our waiter, was great! Fun personality and really made our experience that evening very pleasant. Great food and ambiance. Will definitely come back for more! Thank you
It was quite a busy night but the staff was handling it really great. We were seating promptly and even got the booth we were hoping to get. The food was delicious and our service was great.
This is the second review Lacking in vegetarian items on the menu. Food no better than I can cook at home.
This was a wonderful Christmas Eve celebration. The food, service, and atmosphere was fabulous.
Celebrating Christmas Eve.
Great waitress and service! Food was great!
will for be back soon
Food salmon was very oily . Salmon does not need oil Ahi salad tasty not fresh meat was very dry . Not a good experience for first time customers .. not happy
Martini was not good .. to much olive juice
Food was great, service was excellent. The restaurant had nice ambience and the interior was not too loud to hold a conversation. We will definitely return.
Service was lackadaisical, uneven and insincere. Prices are ridiculous and menu misleading. Ordered a steak Cobb salad and got tiny chunks of steak not cooked to order. Unless your pocket is bursting with hundred dollar bills; go elsewhere.
Excellent salads and fish dishes, featuring imaginative presentations, very fresh ingredients and reasonable wine prices. Though a bit slow, service was warm and congenial.
Loved the seasonal miso cod dish! Breads are always amazing!
We had a terrific time. Our table was waiting as per our reservation and we were seated quickly. The others in our party were running a bit late but there was no pressure for us to order. Food was great and we enjoyed a leisurely dining experience.
I really enjoyed Paul Martins American Grill but am dissapointed in the value. I went to il Pastaio 2 days ago with my friend and spent less. i spent around 72 dollars including tip and i ate the EXACT same things as i did at Paul Martins and ended up spending 90 dollars. Would rather dine in Beverly Hills
My experience at Paul Martin’s was very positive. It wasn’t too loud to the point where I couldn’t hear my girlfriend but loud enough so as to not feel obligated to be quiet. The service was excellent despite my date and myself being much younger than the average customer (usually this brings poor service as servers don’t expect a good tip). Our food came out within minutes of us enjoying the complimentary bread so we weren’t left wanting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing for an enjoyable meal with a loved one or a nice night out.
Fabulous! Thank you for everything!
Happy hour was a great value!
Way way too loud
Food was amazing and great service. Would highly recommend.
There were 3 of us, 2 of us got cold food - 1 filet mignon and 1 halibut. They tried to make good by warming the food, but by then others at the table were done eating.
I was expecting much more for the price. We chose Paul Martin's for a special lunch with my parents before a holiday matinee at a local theater. Unfortunately it was a bit of a let-down. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was friendly upon our arrival. However, we then hit a series of hiccups:
My mom had to repeatedly ask the waitress to refill her coffee and each time, the waitress seemed surprised, like she had no idea that my mom had an empty mug. It is a small thing, but when you're paying higher prices, you expect a higher level of service, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy.
A bigger issue was that the food was underwhelming. The biscuits brought to the table looked inviting but tasted stale, a bit dry and hard. I ordered the salmon sandwich; although the salmon fillet was fresh and juicy, and they were very generous with the avocado and arugula, I didn't taste much punch from the spicy remoulade or pickled onions. Worse, the sweet potato fries that came with it were bland and barely lukewarm. My husband's $13 martini was similarly flavorless. My mom's brioche French toast was overcooked and not very flavorful - although she did say the bacon was excellent. My dad and husband both ordered the fried chicken; they said it was dry and the mashed potatoes were not hot.
Nothing was truly awful, and to be fair to the restaurant, we didn't send anything back to the kitchen, partly because we had to get to our show. However, when you're paying more than $100 for brunch at an upscale restaurant, you shouldn't have to. We really wanted to like this place, but it bothered us that we paid premium prices for a meal that was just adequate.
Celebration with my son
