Dinner was good. Service was incredibly slow. 5 entres, no appetizers, no desert. Took over 2 hours and was never asked for a drink refill.

We go here often for special occasions. We normally have stellar service and food. It was good but a little less than what we've come to expect based on past experience. I'll chalk it up to the fact that it was Mother's Day. We'll definitely continue to be patrons because a busy holiday doesn't dampen our overall experiences at Paul Martin's

The food is really good. Sometimes the food can be a bit salty or overdone, but overall, I've always had a delicious meal. The service is great! The servers are always friendly. The cocktails are tasty and they have a robust wine list. Definitely a go-to for happy hour, lunch or dinner.

Please ask your servers to refrain from using cologne or perfume. Although our service was solid, our servers cologne stayed with our table long after he walked away. It was very off-putting. If the server wondered why two of us ordered with our menu in front of our faces or turned away when he visited the table, now he knows. Save your cologne for date night!

We waited more than 15 minutes past our reservation time. The appetizer took more than a half hour and was burnt. Sent it back. Entrees took another 30 minutes. Food was ok. Had several people apologizing for the wait. They offered us free dessert, then charged us for it. Overall not a great Mother’s Day lunch.

PROS: Server was nice. Biscuits were nice and buttery.
CONS: Table reservation for 5 was cramped. Food was pricey and not tasty. Kids burger was bland. Chicken was over charred. Prime rib was dry and over done. Fresh berries in butter cake were molded.

Disappointing meal for Mother's Day celebration. I would not recommend this restaurant.

The kitchen was so behind this Mother's Day. Fries app took 45 minutes to come out and tasted like it had been sitting a while. Entrees took another eternity to arrive. I had to send my prime rib back because it was on the cold side. The rest of my party was just too hungry and ate their cold-ish food.

The food did taste good and our server was really trying. But, cold prime rib and stale fries? We probably won't do special occasions at Paul Martin's.

We really enjoyed our Mother’s Day brunch. The French toast was especially good. We sat outside because inside seemed noisy. Outside was nice except for traffic noise. All in all we recommend!

We came here after a Sunday matinee at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. This is probably the 5th or 6th time we’ve eaten here. Fresh delicious food, nicely presented and served in a timely fashion. We go for things like the ani salad, the marvelous fish tacos and the French Dip. Menu is well priced because of that, making up for the fact that the wine cost per glass is a little high. Our water was refilled regularly and it was a great early evening dinner!

We had our second bad experience at Paul Martin's. We chalked the first up to the inconsistencies you experience when a restaurant is new, but not this time. First, our waiter did not understand the wine list and insisted that the founder's choice wines were listed at half price. Not true. When we asked his opinion on two red blends, he pointed us to the most expensive Cab on the menu (Silver Oak) as what we should get. My husband asked about what seasonal Sam Adams was on tap, and he told us "the regular one you get in the bottle," but it was the Summer Ale. We had to send that back. Next was the food. I had the shrimp and butter lettuce salad, which had only FOUR small shrimp that were way overcooked. My husband had the salmon harvest salad, and the small piece of salmon on that salad was so charred he couldn't get a fork through it - it was like a hockey puck. Never again, Paul Martin's, never again.

We ate dinner here on Easter and loved it. The service was prompt, timely, friendly and appropriate.
I ordered a Hemingway cocktail and it was scrumptious. My husband had the Cedar plank salmon and I had the halibut. Both were cooked to perfection and the sauces were wonderful.
The reason I gave the food 4 stars instead of 5 was because the shrimp pasta dish that my son had was a little chewy. He said the pasta was sticky and not up to his expectation.
The warm butter cake dessert with fresh berries and ice cream did not disappoint and I would order that again.
I think I found my new favorite restaurant!

this location works really to meet my San Jose friend since I am up the Peninsula and this is in the middle.
Everything was good; i especially enjoyed the grilled shrimp salad with butter lettuce. My friend got the fish tacos which were difficult to manage as a taco...easier with a knife and fork.
the waiter was attentive and tolerant of our slowness to order.

Service was very good and it was a pleasant atmosphere and really comfy seats! The food was okay - great bread, my filet was very good, ribeye was a little tough, roasted cauliflower had a sauce I didn’t really like. Not as expensive as other steak restaurants so value was pretty good.
