Paul & Jimmy's Restaurant has been a landmark in the historic Gramercy Park neighborhood since 1950. The father and son tandem of Louis and Greg Azzollini continue to serve old-country-style Italian dishes, as well as, innovative specials prepared daily. Paul & Jimmy's has been my "go to" restaurant for many years. The owners are accommodating and friendly, the wait-staff is efficient (also nice), and the food...the food is wonderful: tasty, well-prepared, well-seasoned, attractively served. Order anything, you'll enjoy it. Ask for modest changes from the menu; it can be done. Want more bread (warm), butter instead of oil--just ask. The room, as all NY restaurants, tends to get a bit noisy, but it's always possible to enjoy conversation with your companions while you enjoy your dinner. And you will enjoy your dinner. Oh, and definitely try the tiramisu for dessert. You'll be glad you did.

Honestly.. my husband has had 2 great lunches here and wanted me to try.. we went for dinner on Sat night.. we shared a “burrata” and tomato appetizer.. it wasn’t burrata but mozzarella.. I ordered the pasta special.. oriechetta w/broccoli and cauliflower.. absolutely no taste and I even had to add olive oil.. just not good.. extremely bland..
Sadly.. I won’t be returning any time soon.. I’ll let my husband continue his lucky streak at lunchtime..

Paul & Jimmy's never disappoints. Have been going there for over 20 years. It's a great place to meet friends for a nice long quiet lunch (or dinner). The food is consistently good & well-prepared, served up tastefully. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted warmly, brought nice hot crusty Italian bread. The waiter was very attentive & offered refills on drinks. Everything was delicious from the appetizers to the main course to the dessert. Can't wait to go back.

This was our 4th time to Paul & Jimmy's, and came with friends on this visit. The food and service were spectacular. Our group enjoyed the Minestrone soup, salads, fish and veal. On each visit we have been extremely satisfied. If you are looking for a really good traditional Italian NYC restaurant - this is the place.

A very reliable old-school NY Italian restaurant. Good food, friendly staff. Reminds me - in good way - of the Sopranos!

Very good old-school Italian restaurant. Not a place to go if you're looking for something inventive and bold, but great choice for Italian classics. Above average pasta. Good selection of appetizers including a number of specials. Attentive service, but a bit slow. Dimly lit, romantic vibe. Would return.

Paul & Jimmy's is an excellent old time NYC Italian restaurant. The food and service were top notch. They have wonderful soups and will be a great cooler weather destination. The veal chop, fish and pastas were perfect and supported by an attentive wait staff. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Visiting from Los Angeles, what a find. Authentic Italian cuisine. Food was excellent, service was spot on. That evening the Chef Greg was hosting, he gave us insight to his cooking. Highly recommend.

The food was fantastic, but the service was subpar. We had to continue asking for water and for our plates to be removed. Additionally, it took 30 minutes from the end of our meal to receive the bill.

We went to Paul and Jimmy's because a friend recommended it. She used to live in New York and expressed it was their favorite. She was right in every sense! The atmosphere was wonderful. The restaurant well appointed, atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing meal. The food was beyond excellent. Service was second to none. We went for our 40th anniversary and were treated extremely well. Would recommend to anyone!

A solid, reliable meal in a warm and friendly place. Fried zucchini goes very well with a pre-dinner cocktail.
