Patxi's - Ballard
Strangest “Greek” pizza I’ve ever had. The red sauce just didn’t jive with the other flavors IMHO.
Cozy atmosphere with great food!
Waitress was disorganized and service was mediocre, food was extremely slow to be delivered but was tasty when it made it to the table.
Our waiter was the only one working. The female manager and male server were so focused on their conversation they forgot the service part of their job. The bartender was more focused on dishes then getting drinks out. Our salad sat on the bar from the cook for 10 min before someone noticed. Our waiter ended up making our drinks. We have come her many times and have to say the service and food are going down hill.
Waitress spilled water on my wife. Not a huge deal. Would have been nice to offer a discount or free appetizer, but didn’t. “Deep” dish pizza was anything but and a tad over cooked. Both women’s and men’s bathrooms were in disarray. It’s too bad, I’m from Chicago and this was as close as I’d found to legit Chicago deep dish. Their quality has slipped.
I love the pizza, but the service has gone downhill. My last two trips have had extremely long waits for the pizza, but combined with lack of service (no one comes by, didn't follow up on drinks, never brought out our appetizer). Bummer cause we love the pizza!
Food was great but service was terrible! They were so short staffed and someone didn’t come over for half and hour to even say hello or bring water. I had to go grab someone to find our server and after sitting there for half an hour she still said she hadn’t known we were there. I know how hard it is to be short staffed so I feel bad writing this kind of review, but you can at least acknowledge your tables and let them know that things will be a little delayed, instead of never showing up.
The food was amazing, and we'll worth the price but we had to flag down waiters or stand up and go get them Everytime we needed anything. I just wish the service matched the food.
Awful service, burnt pizza.
Hi - My husband and I took 2 of his PCT hiking pals to Paxti's for dinner on July 4. While the pizza and drinks were very tasty, this place needs MAJOR help to beef up the staffing. There appeared to be only 2 people handling the entire restaurant and I felt SO BAD for bartender Paul, who was forced to manage tables while handling his bar duties. He did the best he could, but there was no way he could keep up with things and as a result, it took FOREVER for us to place our order and get our food. Thankfully, we had a lot to talk about with our friends, so it wasn't horrible, but Paxti's needs to hire more waitstaff asap. Many thanks to Paul for trying his best - it was not his fault.
This was a return visit, and I was disappointed. Our first dinner at Patxi's on a weeknight was delicious and enjoyable. But, the second dinner on a Saturday took forever to arrive. I know deep dish pizza takes a while, but nearly 80 minutes? It was burned, too. Also, the beer list seemed narrow and overly slanted toward IPAs. The noise level was uncomfortable. Two of us were seated next to a table of 8; it was a strain to hear each other. The silver lining was that we were at a window so we could watch the sidewalk traffic. Our server was nice, as well. I'd come back, but not on a weekend and I wouldn't order deep dish again.
Normally this restaurant is superb. Have to say, the service last night was really slow and not great. Food was still good. Will wait a month or so and give another go.
Yummy deep dish. Feels so local. I just learned that this is a chain. Seems like they could use a bit more help as things took a while but overall, a great experience.
I love their pizza, but the service was way too slow. Our waiter didn’t seem to like us very much either: never gave us silverware or napkins and didn’t check on us very often. It took about an hour to get our pizzas... luckily they were hot, so maybe our waiter just forgot to put in our order for a while. Might just be better to get their pizza delivered, instead of eating there, as their deep dish pizza is excellent.
Patxi's is a made-to-order pizza place in Ballard. The pizza's are either great or just ok depending on how much one like's their sauce. I could have used a little more basil and oregano. It was easy to chat because the noise level was not bad. However, one order was forgotten and one other arrived late, spoiling some of the pleasure. Give this place a try -- it may be to your liking! Pricey pizza.
Awesome deep dish pizza with lots of left-overs. Great bar & servers!
Great pizza awesome staff
Overall, the pizza was ok. The Cesar Salad was too sour. I would not recommend the salad at all. The bar tender was amazing, however!
Fantastic! We loved every bite.
Above ok, but below great. When you ask to split a dinner salad for a stater, it should come to the table, split on separate plates. If you’re not going to do that, then provide a serving spoon so we can split ourselves. Pizza was ok - mine wasn’t crisp and the pepperoni was chewy - not bad, but not great. Please bus used dishwater along the way? And offer for more drinks? Had to seek the server constantly, even when I wanted to pay to purchase a glass of wine with me meal - seriously? A good thing going in Ballard (where I live 10-15 days a month...), good, but not great.
Took the kids, great pizza, friendly server. Fun night!
Service was great. I ordered the dry rub wings, but they were more spicy than flavorful. Just a heads-up if you are going to order.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We had a party of 7 and didn't have to shout to hear those at the other end of the table.
Loved it! Great food and great wonderful cocktails.
Unfortunately Patxis continues it’s downgill spiral. It’s just a mediocre deep dish pizza anymore. Service was below average.
The best deep dish pizza we have found in Seattle, Patxi’s does not disappoint. Service was friendly. The deep dish pizza can really take a long time to bake, so pace yourself and get some appetizers!
The service here is always great and the deep dish pizza is delicious. However, be prepared to wait as it takes 40 minutes in the oven, or longer if it is a full house.
I love Patxi's and been here quite a few times. The deep dish pizza is perfection, even more so since you can order it half and half so you can taste different pizzas. The prices seem steep, but even a small one is shareable between at least two people and everyone will still be going home full. We shared a large one among four and everyone took a slice home.
One word of caution: I made a reservation for 6 via Open Table. I even had to call Patxi's to change the reservation the day before, and even though they said they'd take care of it, our reservation was nowhere to be found. Not in their books at all. We were lucky they had room, but when you make a reservation, be extra sure they actually have it.
Last minute dinner date, and we'd had this on our list of places to try. I really enjoyed both the pizza (Salsiccia) and cocktails. It was a little pricey, but comparable to other restaurants nearby.
The noise level was deafening. Even though seated in a far corner, we could not converse across the table without shouting, and with everyone else shouting it was a roar. Why has sound proofing gone out of style? Food was adequate at best. My pizza was supposed to be thin and crispy but had a gooey base with the consistency of cream cheese. After waiting 30 minutes for it I was not about to send it back so had them box it up so I could take it home and crisp it up. We were very disappointed and won't be back.
Had a lunch meeting with 2 others and we ordered the large classic meat deep dish pizza. It was amazing we added the classic Cobb Salad and it was enough to feed us all. The service was fantastic the venue is clean and tidy a great neighborhood place.
Extremely nice service.
Food was very good. The Cesar salad was delicious. Pepperoni thin crust truly had a good crust and nice flavor. Only complaint is that the prices are much more than I am used to paying for a similar meal. As a visitor, this may in part reflect higher food prices in general I am seeing in Seattle.
I feel like sometimes this place gets a bad wrap, but I really enjoy Patxi's. I've been going here for about 2 years and my experiences here have varied, but the food remains consistently good. I think they have had some challenges with staff and service, but overall, I would recommend Patxi's. Their appetizers are great and I love their deep dish.
The food was excellent. We ordered Pizza and it was worth the wait time. We all had a wonderful time.
Amazing food. Deep dish is super heavy so bring an appetite. Also costly, 14" deep dish runs ~ $30. Worth it.
Very nice staff and pleasant ambiance.
Good food but super slow service. We were warned about the 45 minute wait for the deep dish pizza, but we were disappointed to have to wait over 30 minutes for our salads - and we were hungry! The waiter eventually apologized (after 30 minutes) saying there was a mixup with the tickets - but offered no compensation. The pizza and salsa were both very good, but we left with a negative association of Patxi's.
We really enjoyed our time here and were glad to find another deep dish pizza in town that we liked after Kylie's in Fremont closed. The service was terrific too!
So, being from Chicago, I am very critical of my pizza. When I saw Paxtis had "Chicago Style Deep Dish" I naturally was skeptical. After dining there though, I have to say, a pretty damn good attempt at it! Now, it's not Giordano's or Pizzaria Due. But hell, I would never expect that. But to get pizza this good in Ballard, I was very pleased. I used to have my wife, who often traveled to Chicago, smuggle me back a personal deep dish pizza back on the airplane with her. It never really turns out like it should though. Now that I know of Paxtis, I won't be making that request anymore. Overall, their deep dish is a damn good pizza! Glad I found Paxtis!
There was a mix up with our pizzas but the manager handled the situation very well. The food was great. The deep dish pizza was tasty and the salads were delicious. There is a wait for the deep dish pizza not sure if a call ahead order would work but would recommended it especially if you are bringing kids. The Atmosphere was open and inviting.
