Must have been a off night for the Chef. Food this visit was just okay, enjoyable setting for dinner on the patio.
Wonderful meal, exceptional service, and beautiful setting.
It was a perfect day for a perfect birthday lunch for my friend and I. Our waitress was the best
Food was very good. Samantha was our server and did a wonderful job! Looking out from the patio on to the golf course enhances the whole experience.
Our server Mackenzie was great. Friendly and efficient. Food tasted good. The salmon sandwich hit the value though at $18.
An great Idea to go out for lunch for my birthday to Finnegans Pub & Grill. Fantastic view over the golf court, great food and nice friendly waitress. My girls all where excited from the restaurant and we all want to go decently go back there soon. I love to sit outside.
Great view, service and food was very tasty with generous portions.
The view from there is spectacular. My wife got the salmon BLT and it was not only delicious, but they gave you a large portion.
Food and service were terrific. There was a singer who was too too loud for the very small room. Will not be going back as I like to hear myself think!
Valentines dinner with my wife was perfect. Had filet and surf and turf which were prepared to perfection. Servers were attentive friendly and were willing to help each other. John D Lamb played guitar in the background at the right level to talk and listen. The 25% off bottles of wine made it extra special!
Wonderful service. Abundant serving and great atmosphere
Great service in a cozy setting for lunch.
Shrimp crab cake was especially good with roasted vegetables. Nice menu.
Holiday luncheon for department secretaries.
Nice little atmosphere off the beaten path
This restaurant is "tucked away" on the campus of Oakland University and its golf course but has no signage directing you to the restaurant, which is at the end of a very confusing, twisting set of narrow roadways.
Once we "got there," we found no adjacent parking area. The closest spot is about 100 yards away, which made the rainy day trek even worse. They did say a valet would be added, but they've been open for years.
Doesn't get better . . . the front doors to the Clubhouse were locked and no information about Finnegan's was displayed. Actually, the entry was on the far side of the building and did have a sign.
The service was superior. Sonya took great care of us . . . we were the only ones in there, so not surprising.
The food we ordered was generally excellent, particularly the braised beef brisket with whipped potatoes and fresh-tasting corn and cut green beans. The flatbread had too many burn marks but was also pretty good.
The manager did a great job in addressing our questions and concerns and that give us hope for improvements.
I won't offer a recommendation until we try it again . . . maybe.
Ate outside on patio. Lovely view, good food and great friendly service.
Live entertainment is wonderful. Very relaxed and casual atmosphere.
Excellent food and casual golf course pub environment. No rushing to get the table rolled over. Live music started at 6:30 and was very good. We have eaten there several times.
Beautiful evening sitting outside on the porch. The food was very good as was the service.
And especially wonderful when John D. Lamb is performing!
We waited 35 minutes for our entries to arrive. We were the ONLY people seated inside; all the outdoor seating was taken. Portions of our dinners were over done and cold plus one of the dinners was incorrect. The waitress made a feeble excuse about an extra large table outside. We have bee going there for four years and this was unacceptable. We will go back one more time. If it happens again, we will never return.
At least, the manager should have come over a apologized for our inconvenience. Absolutely no excuse for such bad and rude service.
Seemed to be a little expensive for what you got. The fish and chips had way more batter than fish, although they give you lots of frys. The shrimp and crab cakes where just ok and for $24 seemed very small. Service was not bad
I was hoping to sit on the patio, but unfortunately it started to rain. The food was good and the waitress was very pleasant and efficient. I had the Pork Schnitzel which was very good and my hubby has a brisket sandwich which he said was very good also.
The view was pleasant lookin out on the golf course. I’m looking forward to listening to the entertainment the next time which is on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
This is a little jewel hidden by the Oakland University gold course. The staff is wonderful, and when we have been there has been live music. The live music is great and really adds to the atmosphere.
The food was very good and the portions would feed 1.5 people in most cases. I would recommend this place if you are going to a show at Meadowbrook, it was convenient and quite good. If you are looking to eat healthy, this may not be the place, but if you are in the mood for some good deep-fried fish or buttery pork schnitzel, those were great.
Great staff and restaurant. Small venue with good view. A little hard to find but worth the effort. Staff goes above and beyond to make everything right!
My salad was mediocre and a disappointment -there was way too much lettuce and no taste to the dressing. The crab cake, however, was very good. I would try a different salad next time as I enjoy sitting outdoors with the pretty view.
Our service was just fine.
The view is spectacular and so relaxing! Great service and wonderful, friendly staff. Food is average and some items are a little over priced.. May want to consider some type of happy hour to be more competitive. Overall, still one of my favorite places. Would highly recommend.
I would reccomend for that fact that the food was delicious and the presentation very nice. It was raining so we were unable to sit outside, which would have been desirable because the live music was way, way too loud!!! Two of us were unable to carry on a conversation without practically yelling across the table. This is a common complaint. Management should take note of the diners comments.
Ate outside overlooking golf course. Beautiful view. Food and service was great
Very noisy inside.
Food great - enjoyable evening
Relaxing location overlooking the golf course. Waitress is super friendly and competent. Thursday, Friday and Saturday music is wonderful.
Staff friendly , nice view of golf course. lemon rice soup ,veggie burger and calamari were great. Nachos were an amazing tower of chips / cheese.
Alas, a new golfing season has brought Patti Finnegan’s Pub back to life -- in an embodiment so poor that it is bad. New management has apparently taken over (Jim Kokas is gone). The "best" characterization of the day of our visit would be "chaos." New servers were still trying to figure the system (or lack thereof) out, the greeter/manager was doing everything except greeting or managing (we were greeted by the chef). We were immediately informed that two-thirds of the entree selections were unavailable due to some problem with the refrigeration (no substitutes offered). The icing on the cake was the guitar-paying "troubadour" (who works Thu, Fri and Sat). His amp was turned up way too loud and his song selections were ill. However, he had a following in the room that were not to be denied -- and did not fail to heap copious praise upon him for his work. With the soggy fried and incessant din taken together, be assured we will not be back.
Liz our waitress was excellent during a very busy night. She handled everything very well and made our evening very comfortable and enjoyable. Food was good too..
Food was fair. One person in a group ordered a stuffed pepper. It came burnt on top and the taste was through out! Was sent back to the kitchen and they remade the entrée! Second time around was good! Manager was argumentative and was not happy that they had to remake the entrée! The musician that they had, was way to loud for the small dining area! Overall it’s a beautiful place to dine, if you can sit out on the patio, if weather permits!
So happy that Patti Finnegan’s is RE-opened! Love the cozy atmosphere and the staff is great - food excellent too!
