Froggy our server made our experience extraordinary. She payed special attention to us as we had a bday guest first timer in NYC. The entire staff were amazing from seating preferences to attention to personalizing and making sure we had a great bday treat! Best part of our NYC experience!!!
Happy hour prices were great and unusual for the location. We had buffalo calamari to start and it was Swimming in sauce, too spicy. The shrimp and chips were tasteless and the fish and chips were undercooked.
The fish & chips were outstanding! Jerry was an attentive server who was tuned in to our needs. It was a fun evening and a great meal.
My opinion is really split on this place. Great location. They do have a large bar/restaurant with a nice happy hour. Husband ordered raw clams at the bar and they were teeny tiny. Moved upstairs for dinner. Food is good but definitely overpriced and only a few entrees include a side. For example, a side of fries is an additional $10!! This is steep even for a NYC native. One person in our party ordered shrimp and chips, so fries included. Ironically, there were so many fries included, it was almost comical.
Menu could be more descriptive as to what exactly what exactly you are getting or what ingredients are in a dish.
For example, menu simply says sweet potato fries or fries. Sweet potato fries are waffle fries and fries are round serrated chips. Both were excellent but still, how hard is it to add those little details to the menu.
Next example, the lobster roll. I specifically asked what kind of lobster roll they served, with or without mayo. I was told they served the type with butter, not mayo. Received the lobster roll and it was generously covered in mayo as well as a spice we could quite place...perhaps paprika? Would just be nice to know what you're getting BEFORE you bite into it.
Two more points....this place is called Patrick's and is definitely trying to sell an Irish vibe with their live Irish music nights, etc... I know this is Times Square and not some quaint Irish pub but still, two things felt really inauthentic about that to me. First, what Irish pub or restaurant in NYC today doesn't serve Magners or, at minimum, some other hard cider? Second, they have a dessert called the Irish Car Bomb fashioned after the drink, which is an American creation, but still a controversially named item at best and one that would never be ordered by that name in Ireland.
There are just so many other good and less expensive restaurants in the area that honestly, I would probably not be back for dinner.
Love the Chicago dog!!
This is a great place to go after seeing a show, or any time at all. I can honestly say I had the best hamburger of my life at Patrick’s, and I am not easy to please. The music had us dancing in our seats and the service was excellent. Our waitress, Jordan, made every request seem easy. We will go there again and again when we come to town.
We were a party of 3. We were seated near the entrance which wasn't bad as we could see the folks waling around Time Square. The food was very tasty and portions were great. The only recommendation I have for the restaurant is lower the music volume. We were seated under a speaker and it was horribly loud. Couldn't hear the server or each other without talking louder than we should. My recommendation....go to Patrick's but don't sit under a speaker!
The Chicago dog was outstanding!
Great service. Great value too. No reason to overcharge us just bc of location.
I went there after seeing a play with my sister. The waitress was nice and attentive. When I asked about the menu she was very descriptive and made suggestions. The manager was kind and greeted us and made sure we were satisfied. I would go back.
Food was ok. Just a warning though, our waiter was misleading and sneaky. As we each ordered he would ask "And what side do you want with that?", making you think that it comes with your meal but no. You'll get the check and realize you're getting charged ($5 to $10!) for each of those sides. Had I known, I would have just shared some of their meh fries with someone... I'm assuming this is how they're trained though since management didn't seem too concerned about it...
We stopped in between shows at Harry Potter just down the street. Had a great experience at Patrick’s. Unfortunately, our server had to leave because she wasn’t feeling well, so another server took over. Even covering extra tables the service was pretty good. The food was delicious. Hamburgers and steaks are delicious. The Irish car bomb dessert was incredible. I’d come back just for that. Live music was a nice bonus. Not overly crowded for a restaurant on 42nd Street.
Food was delicious - my husband had the oysters and chicken parmagian and I had a burger. We both shared the zucchini chips which were outstanding! The ambiance was a little drab though, considering the prices and the location.
The service was incredible...so many of the staff stopped by our table just to visit. It was so much fun. The good was delicious as well. This really added to our NYC experience.
The crab cakes were small and mushy. Everything is ala carte. The vegetables were over cooked.
Our waiter was great.
Had an OK dinner after being recommended by “Tony’s” since they were booked and weren’t able to accommodate us in time to make our show.
Dinner was fine, nothing special. Wedge salad could have been dressed better (way too much blue cheese). Mac & Cheese was Ok. Burger was good.
My second time there pre-Broadway. Food is good. Process are reasonable. The service is highly accommodating and wants a good experience. You can actually talk to your dinner guests as the sound level is great with a nice music background
Try this place, you wont be sorry. Clean, service great, burgers delicious. Thank you Blake.
i expected typical times square food...the food and service usually does not impress. i was pleasantly surprised! it was GREAT! all-around great! even their avocado toast was REALLY impressive!
service was poor - table of four and food for each came out at all different times
waited longer than should for cup of tea at end of meal
Ordered appetizer that never came out. Asked for one change to dinner entree that wasn’t completed. Mac and cheese was too hot to eat even at end of meal. And ran out of beer that is on menu. Overall bad experience.
Went for a birthday hamburger and salad before a show. Very reasonable by NY standards. Our waitress messed up our order a bit and was kind enough to give us a delicious dessert with a sparkler on top to make up for it. This was my second time being there. I will return!!
The food and service was amazing. We had tickets at 1pm and were slightly late for our 11:30am reservation due to traffic. We called to let them know and they said not to worry, our table would be waiting whenever we arrived. Our server, Lori, brought water even before we asked. We ordered East Coast oysters and she asked if we wanted large or small. We wanted large, of course. We each got the Hypocrite hamburger. My husband's was with the classic hamburger, mine was Greek which means you get the lamb burger. Instead of a bun you get a wedge with bleu cheese crumbles and bacon pieces. The burgers are a great size and each one was cooked to perfection and the wedges were enormous. Neither of us missed the bun. By the way, the Greek Hypocrite normally includes a Greek salad but I asked if I could get the wedge instead and it was no problem at all. The amount of bleu cheese crumbles was extremely substantial. We were very filled and had no room for dessert. Throughout our meal Lori was attentive, friendly and anticipated or met our needs very quickly. The music playing was great but did not blow you away in terms of volume. We read negative reviews on Open Table and I can only say to those people, I am glad we disregarded you and focused on the positive comments instead. We will most definitely return to Patrick's again and again.
Just one other mention. The bathroom, referring to the Ladies Room, was immaculate and the plumbing well maintained. I know people do not comment on this in reviews. I think it says something about the character of the management of any restaurant whether they keep track of what is going on inside the restrooms.
The food is so delicious. We like steak and sea foods. Also service is perfect.
Simply put, awful
Extreamly Rushed service. Food was cold and management was actually scooting around the restaurant on a scooter. Staff extreamly rude with very little care for customers.
Really nice food, really nice staff, and GREAT location!
Average pub food
Came here my with wife and two kids while staying at Times Square Hilton. Made a great choice. While listening to live Irish music, my wife and I enjoyed a couple of drinks before having a great meal. My wife had the best Avocado test I’ve ever eaten. I had a great burger and a wedge salad that was half the price and twice as good as the one I had the night before at a high end steak house. Service was also excellent. This is a great place for good food, music, and value if you want to escape the chaos of the Times Square area.
Hands down the best steak I've had! Great service and the location was perfect.
The food was not good. I felt really badly that we spent almost 100.00 on our vacation . The waiter was pretty friendly, and he took off my husbands fish because he couldn’t eat it. Very over priced for what you got. No sides with anything but fish or shrimp. We just didn’t think the food was good , at all!
Literally the best roasted Brussels sprouts I've ever had. Generous portion of chicken parmesan. Will go back!
Annual visit to NYC.
we did not get acknowledge for 11 minutes after being seated. i had to ask the busboy for water. all the server had to do was say "i will be right with you" when he was closing the check n people sitting right next to us. it was pretty dissappointing and SET the TONE for the evening. i was in the restaurant business for 23+yrs. there were 2 tables getting ready to leave, we were the 3rd table in the section, the a 4th sat. the 2 tables got up n left, we were the only 2 tables left in section (not busy at all), and it took (11minutes) for our server to come by.
there was no sense of urgency what so ever.
i could understand if the place was full of customers and the waiter was running around like a chicken..., but just 2 tables in his section?
Great fish and chips, solid burger although needed a little seasoning. After removing Bottom bun and salting much better. Asparagus also superb.
Our server was great. The food was excellent, and the prices are very reasonable.
Enjoyed the tasty Chutney Chicken and a friend had the classic Patrick's burger.
Our server Frieda was excellent and very attentive.
We will definitely return.
Pleasant staff. My friend was very impressed with the fish and chips, noting the fish was crispy and not soggy. The cheeseburger and sweet potato fries were decent enough. Sitting by the window is preferable as is quite dark (walls painted black). Would recommend if you are looking for a pub type setting. It's very close to the American Airlines theatre.
A menu that can please different palettes...from hamburgers to salads to entrees
We had a very disappointing experience. We were placed next to a table where it was known by the hostess that an intoxicated man was seated. Our server apologized but this could have been prevented. Our entrees were not good., especially for the $ paid. When visiting the restroom, it was trashed. I will never eat here again.
