Walk-ins' are taken starting at 11:30 am. Reservations accepted for dinner only, and walk-ins' accepted when possible.

Fifty eight years ago, Elaine and Pierre Boissiere established their eponymous restaurant at its current location, years before Carmel Plaza shopping center was built around it. They sought to offer the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea a relaxing and comforting venue modeled after a European chateau where tables are thoughtfully spaced and fresh flowers, fireplace, candles and soothing musical notes are integral part of the dining experience. The ambience sets the tone for French country food served with a great deal of care for detail and pastries baked daily on premises. It is a testament to their far sightedness that Patisserie Boissiere Restaurant continues to fulfill their vision to this day.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight at Patisserie Boissiere. Our server, Theo, was friendly and knowledgeable. The owner, Juliano, was also very welcoming and made us feel like old friends. We had a nice bottle of wine; we shared a Caesar salad; and our entrées, beef bourguignon and lamb shank we’re both very good. We even brought some dessert home. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Patisserie is a grand old local restaurant. The food is consistent and it is a welcoming atmosphere. Never disappointing.

Relaxed atmosphere in a comfortable dining room with space between tables for privacy. Excellent affordable wines. Many enticing menu items. Had the Osso Bucco which was one of the best ever. Wedge salad also excellent. Service was efficient and not overbearing. Desserts extremely well presented and tasty. Charming spot for any occasion with fine dining. Highly recommend.

The whole evening was wonderful. Super friendly service, food was delicious and the ambience lovely. We were especially appreciative of the lower noise level than many restaurants.

Very quaint French restaurant. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the lamb shank. Service was great. I would definitely recommend.

This is our 2nd time dining here….we travel to Carmel about twice a year. Love the ambience…..cute French decor and music. Cozy fireplace. Outstanding service. Delicious food! We both loved the French onion soup. I loved the beet salad and my husband enjoyed his beef bourguignon. Last time we enjoyed their chicken pot pie. The desserts were tempting, but we were too full. Looking forward to visiting again when we return to Carmel!

Lovely decor and ambience, fantastic entrees: Beef Bourguignon, salmon en croute, angel hair pasta with prawn as well as terrific French onion soup gratinee! Save room for best desserts in town. Service is excellent as well. Recommend the Patisserie highly!
