The patio which is the main reason for the name, I’m guessing, is spectacular. I felt like I was stepping out into a lovely courtyard in the big easy. Definitely get the pimento cheese; it was out of this world and loved the fish dishes.
A little pricey but always delicious and the service is good, friendly waitstaff. One of my favorite spots in Hattiesburg.
The weather was humid. They turned one of the fans off outside and we requested that they turn it back on. My guests were sweating. Ants were biting our legs and feet. We told the server but she didn’t seem concerned. When our meals came out, flies surrounded our table. We asked for covered plates/ to go boxes and the server brought another set of table plates. When I informed her that’s not what we needed, she went back in and brought the to go boxes. We had to put our food in them to keep the flies from our food so we could eat our meals. At the end of our meal, the assistance came to our table and we informed her about the ants and flies. She stated that she would look into the ants situation. We will request the inside during the summer.
Great service and amazing food. Blackened grilled fish tacos were THE BEST. A huge plate of three overflowing tacos at $15 is quite a deal. So good!
Birthday dinner reservation was OUTSIDE in the middle of July under an extreme heat warning. Made the reservation 2 weeks prior but was not aware that I would be placed outside. They have these HUGE fans on the patio and of course our table was in the middle of the patio not near one fan. Was told they were all full inside as I stood there sweating bullets in a new birthday dress. The hostess told someone the issue and we were shoved in the back room of the restaurant. I was hoping to be in the main area near the bar, but was told it was full. I guess if I ever decide to make reservations there again I will request to be seated inside.
Nice place good food
I often go to Patio 44 and it is one of my favorites. The food is always very good. The drinks are excellent and the service is attentive. I highly recommend Patio 44 for the fabulous atmosphere and awesome food.
We have eaten here before and it was delicious-had great service. This time the food was overcooked and the service was terrible. There were not many people there and it took a really long time to get the food. The waitress disappeared a lot. The fish I got was supposed to have cream sauce and there was barely any on it. When I asked for more, I was told there would be an extra charge. I explained there was hardly any on it so she brought me the equivalent of a spoonful. Maybe it was the day of the week that made the difference.
Great family gathering place, great menu, love the patio.
Good food but wish they had some waffles without pork. Also would love some turkey sausage or bacon.
The service was excellent! We had Fried Green tomato BLT and blackened shrimp tacos for lunch. All were delicious!
Amazing food and service
Food was only “okay”. But our server was wonderful. I believe his name was Jeremy or Jeremiah? I know it was a J. He was so kind.
Atmosphere was awesome as well. It would have been an all around Perfect experience, if the food would have been better. I would recommend this to a friend because of the atmosphere, but I would make sure to tell them the food is just, decent, not great.
Mother’s Day dining for my wife and sister. I’ve been told by others of their experience and they have said they didn’t have the best experience. However I chose to see for myself. I don’t know what problem they had but my experience today was absolutely great. 5 Stars to the restaurant. That is so much for giving us the most pleasurable dining. It was superb to my family and myself. The food was outstanding and the waiter was very courteous and the bartender was great as well.
Patio 44 had the best food we experienced in Hattiesburg over the weekend. The seafood was much better than the competition. Service was a little slow I think due to USM graduation and a very full restaurant. Considering the load on the Kitchen, very well done! Always enjoy the food presentation at Patio 44.
Thanks for allowing reservations via Open Table. Was able to get our table almost immediately on arrival. An enjoyable experience all around.
Unfortunately this was not a great experience, we took our daughter here for a graduation dinner and it was a disaster. Took almost 30 min. To get our drinks and we were sitting 4 feet from the bar. Appetizers took about the same time to get to the table and came with no garnish on the plates or the sauces needed to really enjoy the dishes. Not impressed. Entree’s were also a disappointment, not much flavor and barely warm. Granted our waitress said she was new, but the restaurant was not remotely prepared for the graduation crowd whatsoever. I will say that the wedge salad was very good.
Graduation dinner.. outstanding service and food
The blackened redfish was outstanding!
Great time! Service was slow but it was a local prom night so they were busy!
It was great evening nice waiter rather loud in Patio tho! Will be back. Great food
Loved Patio 44! My colleague and I are from out of town and tried it on a whim. We were not disappointed and will definitely visit again in the future.
Loved the ambiance. Went out with my wife and two friends for my birthday. Had an inside seat perfect for conversation. The outside patio is fun for family and groups but can get too noisy for intimate conversation. It is great to have options of ambience for different parties. The food surpassed expectations. I had the blackened redfish on the half shell. Full of flavor. Just enough spice without losing flavor to the heat. The best fish I have had in town. The gouda grits are exquisite. The gouda cheese is an exceptional flavor in this dish balanced with a hint of heat and based on quality grits. The crab fondue is most likely the best appetizer in town. Altogether, a great experience.
Our first time to Patio 44. Just passing by. Stopped in for dinner and we were very pleased with the establishment, the service and the food was delicious. Very pleased with the all around service.
Everything was great. The food was great, waitress was great and overall it’s the best place I’ve been to in a while. I would totally recommend it
Very pleasant Easter lunch with family
Arrived at the restaurant approximately 1:05 and were seated immediately in a comfortable spot on the patio. As it was Easter Sunday and several restaurants in the area were closed, it was quite busy when we arrived, but we experienced no delays. The food arrived hot and fresh and service excellent. No complaints on food or service, which can be surprising for a very busy restaurant on a special day. There were large family groups in the crowd, I noticed.
Our waiter was great and so was the food. Great selections and ambiance. Draft beer would have been nice, but not the end of the world.
My first time there. Excellent service, food and staff.
Great experience! Great food!
We've eaten at Patio 44 several times previously, so we confidently made reservations for our daughter's 14th birthday dinner. We had a group of 12, 4 adults and 8 young ladies. Our server was absolutely the best, and without her positive attitude, attention to our table, respectful and pleasant nature, I would have been truly upset. Our crew filled our table completely, and she was right there constantly for anything we needed. The wait for our food from the kitchen, however, was ridiculous even for a busy Saturday night. Our guests were served at different times, and one young guest waited an extra 15-20 minutes before her food arrived while everyone else had their plates (she ordered the same meal, chicken and waffles, that the 1st person served had ordered). We waited over an hour for our entrees; I was so glad we had bread (3 small baskets for 12 people), 2 small plates of appetizers, and a few of us ordered salads. At 11 a.m. that morning, I also made arrangements for our guests to be served slices of red velvet cake that was the weekend special in lieu of me bringing in a cake from elsewhere. By the time our guests were 1/2 done with their main courses, and I gave our server the go-ahead to get the cake slices, she returned from the kitchen to apologetically inform me that they ran out of cake an hour ago. I was very disappointed, and we opted to pick up a ready made cake on our way home rather than order other desserts from the menu. As it was, our meal was $350. I was very disappointed as well in the quality of my and my husband's steaks. The meat quality just wasn't as fresh as what we've tasted at other restaurants, and my $38 filet was butterflied and way overcooked. I won't take another large group to Patio 44 on a Saturday night.
My fiancee daughter an i decided to eat here for dinner.. everything was great. Just be sure to inquire on the serving size of your meal and what sides you'll get. My daughter ordered enough food for all 3 of us to where I ordered a piece of fish on a bed of spinach:) still the food was great
Great service with a full drink menu and delicious food. It was a bit on the pricey side for us, but a really nice spot for our anniversary dinner. We both had steak with mashed potatoes and ate every bite! It was very crowded the night we went due to Valentine’s weekend and southern miss baseball, but we still received plenty of attention.
Was not impressed with the food. Didn’t have a lot of seasoning to food.
First time going and will not go back, the food was very nice other then having a large shred of plastic prep glove in my mashed potato. Alerted the waitress and she had a manager come over and speak and was apologizing that it happened but blamed it on a Storage bag ripping, sorry not buying it.. having being in the restaurant business and supplying I know the consistency of a prep glove. my wife was unable to finish her food due to the incident. When it was time for the check there wasn’t any discount I place wasn’t asking for free meal but pretty much ruined the night especially when we don’t get out much
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and meal at Patio 44. A nice hidden gem in Hattiesburg. Too cold for the patio on our night, but they have a great outdoor area for pretty spring and summer evenings.
Online it said they were open until 11. I made a reservation for 9:45. We got there, and the bartender said they were closing up. So we went to Keg and Barrel and had a great meal. I would recommendKeg and Barrel.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, excellent service!!
Overall, everyone liked their food. One plate had to sent back because the steak wasn't cooked correctly. I had a fish plate and the fries were cold. The waitress couldn't answer anyone's questions without asking someone else. I would give the restaurant another try.
Took my wife for a date due to me being gone on holidays. They got the roses and put a cloth on the table. It made my wife's night a memorable night to say the least. The going above and beyond to make the night perfect for her has earned my business. For all my special moments the Patio is the way to go.
Good was great and waitress was awesome.
