First time at this restaurant and really enjoyed it. They have inside dining as well as outside dining that is covered and shaded. Nice view of Beach Blvd.
Had the Chicken and Waffles and man was it yummy. That being said, there is clearly enough on ONE plate to serve two people.
I did not drink any alcohol but my husband told me the Old Fashioned was very good. There is also a very extensive wine selection, which we will have to investigate next time we return.
Took an appetizer size of Gouda Grits home for breakfast the next morning and they did not let me down. Creamy and perfectly seasoned!
A great place to come for any occasion
We were very pleased with the Ambiance and the Service. The food was okay, but because of the price It didn’t measure up. A$30 Seafood Dish (Wahoo) should be prepared in such a way that it is wort it.
We loved our waitress and the ambiance, but we felt that the food was really lacking - especially for the price. I had the roast, which was an $18 dollar dish. The plate was warm, but the food itself was barely room temperature. My husband had a burger, and he mentioned that while the bacon was good, the burger itself was quite bland. However, we enjoyed the cajun nachos and the pecan cheesecake.
Overall, it was a good experience, but next time I'll forgo the whole meal and just grab a slice of cheesecake instead.
Lots of hard surfaces, so the noise from other tables could be heard. Same great food as Biloxi but the staff at this location are more attentive. Best blackened catfish in the area.
A little too wide open and bright inside if you are looking for an intimate dinner. Food was average. Service was good but we felt rushed. I will come back when the patio weather is here. The bar looked more enjoyable with plenty of live sports on the tvs.
Over rated.. Our bill was $150.. And our food was horrible... We enjoy a great meal and great service.. My son ordered the 9oz filet mignon( medium) tough not tender, sweet potato mashers were cold.. seafood plater was warm... the chicken Alfredo was very oily... our crab cakes boring... just like I remembered the old patio 44.. the services was okay. But he enjoyed he co-workers interests not ours. We didn’t say anything because, we didn’t won’t to be accused of trying to get a free meal..
We are from out of town so to have this restaurant close to our rental house was perfect. Beautiful patio and decor. Cocktails are on point! Had the simple life cocktail, it is a refreshing summer drink!
For the entree I had the jambalaya pasta, a local favorite, and it was good!
Service was great too. Our server was knowledgeable and funny!
Their po'boy sandwiches are awesome! And for $13 for one loaded with shrimp it's a very reasonable price. We ate on the patio which is very charming, which has a fountain in the middle. I will keep coming back!
Wasn't expecting to be able to get a table during 4th of July fireworks, but was able to get seated quickly. We shared debris fries & added cheese. They were divine. Blackened shrimp tacos were excellent. Husband (hard to please) reallyenjoyed his blackened catfish over grits. Picky young daughter dined with relatives the next day and raved over her pork chop & sweet potato entree. If I had to mention one suggestion, I'd rather not watch a hotdog eating contest on TV while trying to enjoy a fine meal. Still highly recommend Patio 44.
Our waitress worked her heart out but food came out of the kitchen with wrong sides, missing items and cold. Not her fault but kitchens fault! My roast beef could have been a little better as it had too much of one seasoning. The gumbo was a little different-it was almost like a soup as it didn’t have any full size shrimp, everything was kind of pulverized into one. We have been there several times before and enjoyed the experience...hopefully this was just an off day for them.
The food was great but it was the chef’s first night and he hadn’t learned how to properly plate food. My mom ordered the reddish that was supposed to come over a bed of Gouda grits. When it arrived, there were no grits on the plate. When we notified the waiter, he immediately apologized and returned the plate to the kitchen. Instead of replating the food as described, they simply scooped the grits on the side of the plate. We paid nearly $100, and while the food was good, the overall presentation and lack of attention to details did not warrant that price.
We are definitely eating here again. The service was a little slow but our server was new. Overall a great restaurant.
Food was good, staff friendly. The main dining section was loud, opted for the bar area that was roomy and had a nice view of the patio area and harbor.
We brought my husband here for Father’s Day & we had a wonderful experience. From the food & service, to the wine, everything was EXCELLENT!
Madison provided great service. Food was delicious. Chicken and waffles was amazing. Very impressed with their bread pudding! Wonderful experience. I would definitely go again.
Food was excellent, service was perfect, Madison is one of the best servers my wife and I have had in quite some time. Will definitely be dining here again.
Small portions of food for the price and the service rushed the meal
The restaurant was was empty in the dining room except for the two of us so it was quiet. I had the crab & corn bisque which was very good, thick and creamy. It was as puréed so no recognizable corn or crab but delicious flavor. Then I had the fried shrimp poboy which was good, very generous portions but the toasted bun was a little too dry and crisp for me. The French fries were some of my favorites, light with a crispy outside and fluffy inside. The taste was not hidden by a lot of seasoning. Service was good, server checked on us periodically but did not hover.
This was one of the worst meals we have ever had.
Not only was the service bad, but the food was mediocre to say the least.
Absolutely zero attention to detail. The fish of the day was over cooked. They did, however, take the “broiled” platter that was intact blackened off of the bill when sent back. But that is the only positive comment about this restaurant.
3rd time there, always very good, food excellent, drinks very well prepared, service friendly, and attentive. It's not just Seafood, their Steaks are not notch !
We were seated on the patio by a hostess, and no server greeted us or took drink orders for 15 minutes. We went inside to ask for service, waited 10 minutes more with no service. Eventually we got up and went somewhere else. we’ve been here before and the food is good. This, however, was a bad experience.
Went for a late Mother’s Day lunch. This is a nice looking place and has potential but both the food and the service were below expectations. It was clear that there was not a strong manager in place the day we were there. I would blame it on Mother’s Day, but other reviews show a pattern of poor service and mediocre food. It’s relatively expensive as well. That’s a losing combo in the restaurant business and I wouldn’t be surprised if this place struggles as a result.
WE had two Po'Boys here. One with friend shrimp & one with fried oysters. Both were delicious but the one with fried oysters was excellent. Delicious oysters. Definitely my choice if I return here & I would return here if in town again.
It is a great place and we have been there before without issues, but this time we waited 20 minutes for someone to take out drink order another 10 for meal and our food arrived a little over an hour after we arrived... there were only a few tables seated and many empty seats- so we arent sure why it took so long for everything :(
I reserved Outdoor seating a week in advance and was given a high top window view instead. After I told the hostess nicely that I reserved Outdoor she said this was all she could give me and "at least I can see outside". It was a beautiful Easter Sunday and was really looking forward to eating on the patio. Our waiter was great, but the food, seating and hostess situation wasn't.
Food and staff were amazing!
Food and service was spot on. Only complaint is it was crowded with prom goers and was pretty loud because of it
Our first time at Patio 44. It was recommended by a friend. We will definitely be back. Loved the spacing of the tables. Noise level was low enough that we could actually visit with our group. Want to request the next location in Covington/Mandeville LA area.
It was everything and more. The chicken and waffles were the best I’ve ever had. My favorite dish here in the south by far.
The waitress was super super sweet ❤️💪🏾
The food left something to be desired. My piece of fish still had the scales on it, and I was constantly picking them out of my mouth, my husband’s fish was good, but missed the mark flavor-wise. My grits were a bit too sticky, and the sauce they put on top was just the littlest bit in the center of the fish.
Great service, And the food is, A plus. Gumbo is a little too thick for my preference, but would definitely eat there again.
All four of us thought the food was great our server was outstanding did a great job taking care of us
They forgot our salads and brought the food out entirely too fast. They also ttok forever to bring aour 2nd drink order.
Some confusion with seating, but quickly resolved. The food and service was excellent! We took our out-of-town guests and we had a very pleasant evening.
My husband and I enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner at Patio 44. The reservation process was excellent and we were seated immediately. The serving staff had a lot of tattoos on her arms which was not very appealing and one server had strangely colored hair. For an eating establishment, I think they need to be more mindful of the appearance of people handling your food. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu. My husband did not like the gumbo and the staff took it off our bill. She mentioned someone else had returned theirs also. My steak was prepared beautifully and was delicious. The chocolate mousse was also very tasty, but the serving size was too much. It was placed in a soup cup. It needed a little crunchiness to offset the smoothness of the mousse. All in all, we will certainly return! It's nice to have a new restaurant on the coast!
The good was great snd our server was very attentive. However, thd noise level deters from the experience
Our first time there.... We were the only ones in the dinning room for over an hour (5pm).. Service took forever... $160 for 3 people, I would have expected great service. Also the noise lever was awful even though there were only a few people there at the time. And the food was nothing special. I don't think we'll be back.
Taylor did a fantastic job as our server. The food was excellent with generous portions.
